We live in southeastern Illinois on a 41 acre homestead. We just finished building our log cabin in 2018. Now we are focused on trying to grow our own food and raise livestock. Follow us on our journey we continue to develop our homestead and farm, while becoming more self sufficient.

You get a 3 out of 4. One set of twins and one out of the other twins. My grandkids love your videos.
The drone footage of your property shows how beautiful it is!!!
I was just going to comment on that. So glad we got to see the drone footage of the placement of house in relation to shop/garden/orchard/pond/fields. Just gorgeous, and it's not even full on summer yet!
So true homestead has come a long ways (many years) very beautiful!!
Try to dip mushroom in ranch dressing
Evan, I think your dedication to your property is admirable. The neatness of everything is something to be proud of.
I was kust thinking the sam.
I can’t wait for the Bridge crossing.
Trailer frames would make awesome round bale trailers
That sandwich was awesome got me hungry
I need that magic wood block for my trailer too 😂
Morels make the best cream of mushroom soup.
I like your black nail polish on your thumb.. Its good to see your keeping up with the cool kids :)
Too funny. That’s where he smashed his thumb so hard, his fingernail turned black. It’s country nail polish. 😂
Country view acres needs a cook book.
I know I’d buy one!
Hey Evan. 👋 Great Homestead videos. I was watching 4 and 5 years ago. Wow. Big Difference. Great job. 😎👍💯🏡🚜🐄🐄🐃🐃🐐🐐🐖🐖🐖🦆🦃🦃🐔🐓🐣❤🙋♂️
Fry up some onions in butter, sauté the morels in the mix, add cream, and dill, enjoy on mashed potato and roast! Add garlic if like!
Those mushrooms must be nice because there seems to be a fair amount of work in finding/picking, preparing and cooking them.
Definitely worth it.
Hello everyone from Santa Fe nuevo México usa
I enjoy your videos. Property looks beautiful.
Hello from Spokane Valley Washington! 🙋♀️✨️🌞
My mouth is just watering watching you guys eat those mushrooms. It's been so long.
Hi.... Evan and Rebecca nice to see you both Love watching your video homestead beautiful great good job BYE
Don't let it go to your head but your channel has become my favorite, just kidding. but not kidding really. Although i have several others I like. You two make a very good couple and enjoyable to watch.
That frame would make a great pier for the pond.
Hi Evan, bravo for your "safety better than sorry" policy.Other than that you're making pretty interesting video and it is quite diversify too
You gave me a great laugh over your pants. I enjoy watching your videos.
I'd need some mustard or mayo on mine. Looked really good. 😋🇨🇦
Gosh NO! Morels are never eaten with anything but salt after being fried (should only ever be done in butter per my Granny). I have heard of people putting them in gravy, but the whole point with morels is to NOT COVER UP THE TASTE!
@@ruadhscottygirl2480 I was talking about the sandwich, lol. 😬🇨🇦
@@shelleyennis4489 Oops! LOL
@@ruadhscottygirl2480 no problem 😊
Enjoy the eclipse experience guys. I had the experience in U.K. in 1999 and it’s a bit surreal, especially when the birds get quiet. I’m wondering how the farm animals will react. Maybe you could set up a camera to watch them.
Your cooking is tormenting me
Those morels looked very tasty!
I don't know if you of Chris at Let'sdig18 but If you don't I've been watching him lately he builds ponds and does al lot of maintenance on them. He said the other day that he was maintaining the that this owner wanted to be cleared around the shoreline because it was overgrown, Chris said that the cause of pondweed was the overgrowth and unless it was cleared it would keep happening to the pond. I hope that you can get on top of it. Your pond would look fantastic to if there wasn't so much overgrowth. Better for fishing also.
Hi guys, always amazes me when you have guests coming to your house people run around like a blue ass fly cleaning up LOL keep up good work Cliff from Australia
Sure enjoyed watching you get ready for the gathering at your home for family and friends to be together during this years Eclipse. REALLY enjoyed the segment with the Morel Mushrooms, they looked so good. Stay safe and have fun watching the Eclipse. Fred.
Use the trailers for your new wood shed roof
It is 9:30 pm and you cook that sandwich and my mouth started watering. Have to go raid the fridge. Lol
Everything at your farm looks so fantasic...you got a new puppy? cute
Re 8:42, I've had the exact same rip in two pairs of jeans from sitting in the car with my phone in my back pocket. I'm tipping it may have been the same here from when Evan was sitting in the tractor...
You 2 have made your place beautiful
Love the video!!!
Your place looks so pretty !! I LOVE YOU BOTH !!! 🥰 🥰
Have long awaited for the chestnuts update.Already been planted a good few years, doesn't seem to be growing fast😮
I’m ready to be the test subject anytime you’re cooking on the grills. The sandwich looked delicious. The property is looking great I’m sure you can’t wait to be home 24/7. Looking forward to the video after Monday event.
Greetings from Rochester NY..always enjoy watching country view acres..Great Videos about your farming life and homestead!! You going to do a Eclipse video that would be historic...God Bless 😊
Snooze, ya lose, Evan, when it comes to morels!
I figured you would turn the trailer frame into a hay trailer
Evan...great variety on your blog. I have to admit I am not a fan of Rebecak and her bossiness, but that just me. I like the variety in your videos and so many things you are skilled at doing. Thanks for a great video. I like Farmer Tyler ranch style more but you have great variety like him.
Miss Maggie! 💕 🐾 🐾 😊
It would be fantastic if you went live for that eclipse!?
Na! Maybe a video, but they should just enjoy family & friends! A drone shot would be cool!
Looks like a round bail trailer. Would make a good one if you need one.
You are building a beautiful place
Carhart MEN'S UTILITY WORK PANT - LOOSE FIT - WASHED DUCK. Very tough.
The backyard here was a swamp with all last weeks rain. I’m hoping to mow the lawn tomorrow afternoon.
thx
It's pretty crazy to think of what you started with when you bought that property. The amount of work and effort that you have put into your home and land is amazing. Keep up the good work you are a great team.
Love your videos your home his very lovely and love it Evan ,Reb .
Can't wait for the next video
I like the turn about mowers, be sure and protect those wonderful eyes, good vision is not appreciated as much as when your vision becomes dim.
Great Video. Lunch looked Very tasty. Mushrooms looked good
I've never had the Morells. Enjoy your Eclipse sighting & Family....😊
Your property is very noticeably improved. Lookin great. 👍👍👍
My mouth watered at all those lovely mushrooms! And the ham & cheese sandwich. Oh my!!
I enjoy watching you figure out how to accomplish all the things you want to accomplish. I'm an elderly person and it all reminds me of when I was younger and watching and helping my father do all the things he did. My Dad could do anything like you. Keep up the great work.
Evan, you need a finishing mower for your tractor . They mow almost as good as a lawn mower but fit on tractors! Used to find them cheep from golf courses.
I only wear Wrangler Riggs work pants and Duluth firehose pants. I used to go through a pair of jeans in about a years (grants I always bought the cheapest ones at Rural King). Now a pair of pants lasts me 4 to 6 years. I farm and do maintenance and they do good. The firehose pants are a bit hot for summer but really shine in fall, winter, and early spring.
Yes, I have switched to buying Wrangler Riggs.
I have had excellent results with every Rural King purchase, except RK jeans. Four pair separated along left side of right rear pocket down to seam. Only wore them 3 or 4 times .
Cut the frame into 2-3 equal lengths.....get some used axels....make 2-3 wagons for hauling hay round or square bales......
My family on my Dads side were mushroom hunters like you wouldn't believe! They had favorite spots that were over 30 miles away! And some so good they kept them from each other, it was like a competition on who could find the most. They would even try to tail each other to find out where their spot was, that was back in the 70's. Great memories looking back on those times.
Great video mate thanks and God bless you all
I meant like drill holes and put post in it then mount that frame to it and weld the hay rake sides onto good for a life time
WOW you're always doing something Evan. Hard workin' guy. Everything at your farm looks so nice.
Congratulations on your choice of mower. Have done commercial mowing for last 20 years toro mowers still weed eaters. Nothing can compare
Evan, just your opening segment brought great joy to me! I don’t know why, it doesn’t matter why, it just did.
Maybe the thought of a special occasion with family, good food and drink (not to excess of course) i hope that you all have a great time! I am going to have a medium hot curry, my first of the year!
Enjoy!
Hi Evan, what if you design a skimmer for the duckweed that can be controlled by an app and run around like a Roomba 😅 patent it. I'm in awe of all your talents ❤❤❤
I can almost smell the grass. Another month and a half before ours starts growing. You guys have a well kept place Evan.
Hahaha You'da gota spankin for ripping those jeans more at my house. I patch those and keep right on wearing them. Hubbies as well. Jeans are too expensive these days.
You could make hay wagons out of those old frames.
Nice work Robecka! You have a lovely farm. :)
The one time I let my wife mow the front yard with the lawn tractor and only time, she forgot to lower the deck. Lol. Are you going to weld the trailers together and then put them across the pond. I hope film that! A friend of mine along time ago put a railroad flat car across a pond without the wheels.
You could install some type of netting under the rafters. Park your Case Diesel in the garage. When you start the Case, the birds will leave the garage via the Diesel smoke and the motor noise. Birds will make a mess (As you know) in your garage. 17:40
Mowing season is here for sure! Property looks beautiful. Enjoy the eclipse. 👍🏼😁
Your property has become a textbook beauty pageant winner..
The barn and your seep in your barnyard is next..eh..?
Looks good... your stock is very clingy..And ...your mushroom
Snacks look good...
Rebekah that’s my favorite thing to do! Y’all have fun! Great job!
You need to trim up those pines to make it a lot better to mow!!
Thanks Evan
Wow.. lucky you to have Morels on your property... mark the date on you calendar and they should pop same time every year in that same place... there should be a vast network of underground Morel colony anywhere you find them & will pop every year.
Enjoy the eclipse. We will not have one again till 2096 i think. Great video. All the best 🇬🇧.
The sandwich looked great, the thumb not so much.
Rebecca looks like a Nascar Driver zipping around on the toro . LOL
Keep the good blocks for future "adventures"......
Should put down 6 ties or power poles and mount it to it make a good hay feeder out of that frame
How y'all doing, lets see some road trip videos, out and about.
JudithB Could you fence the chestnut orchard so just the sheep can graze in there?? I know the cows would rub on the tubes and hurt the trees. I am mowing too, and we did a lot of pruning and clean up over the weekend. I found more to prune up today!! LOL!!
Need a pickle with that
I don't think I have ever eat a chestut befor .
I WISH THAT LIFE WAS AS ORGANIZED AS YOU APPEAR TO MAKE IT. I JUST WONDER HOW REAL IT REALY IS. WHAT DON'T WE KNOW/
Rebeka is dangerous on that toro, evil kenival for sure.🤣🤣🤣
Evan, great job moving the long trailer. Rebekah did a great job mowing the place. you two are like two Peas in a Pod.. lv ur animals..
The homestead/farm is looking fantastic. AND...Maggeeeeeee....so nice to see her still around. 😍
👏👏
I heard it’s easier to mushroom hunt at night because you can see them with a flashlight.
Thanks for the update on the trees. Cooking morels exactly like I do!
where i am in maine we are also right in the path of the eclipse.
I sure do like what you're doing with your property, looking good. Good luck on the family visit, hope y'all have a good time and everyone is safe. Thanks for sharing, have a great week!
Rebekah's good cookin is helping Evan get too big for his britches... lol
👍
All that good eating is starting to show on your trousers.
