Interesting. Back in the mid 90s,the advice was that the 6cyl/ 1.82 was the recommended 1st gear for street rod use. Just goes to show that keeping current leads to considerable changes in what is thought to be best.

So I learned something, always thought the direct drum just locked the input and output shafts together...wrong!

Excellent series, Watched it several times.
You don't try and up sell products just give honest expertise about the parts and they're limits. Awesome resource.
In your previous video you showed how the direct drum piston can be machined down so more frictions/steels can be added. It appears that the same can be done with the reverse piston as well? What do you recommend on the limits of factory and thin steels/frictions for this????
    Thanks again!

Do the course spline powerglides always have a 1.76 planetary? I was given one today. I have a fine spline from a 1968 Nova that was a 6 cylinder car. Would it have a 1.76 also?
