Taping the fret board works well and has for years but it’s a bit time consuming … Dude I use post it notes !! Sooo much quicker and less icky sticky residue on fret board. Use em by two so you won’t burn through them if ya use fret erasers. A post it (2 thick) note on each side of the fret, work on the fret and onto the next… wash rinse repeat 🤘

Sometimes the break angle of the nut slot will cause that sitar sound as well, I’m sure you know this but some other people might not. You can fix it by filing a slight angle downward towards the head stock.

I was surprised you didn't demand some spiderman photos to be honest.

I appreciate you man. As a player who has been burned bad a guitar hostage crisis for gods sake i had to suddenly pay double to get my unplayable guitar back after they said it was ready. I am thinking that guitar of shame its sat in a case since 2014. Cost more than my old and only truck... i was about thousands into a project i shelved. the situation bothered me so much. i belong on an acoustic now but like dude it might be on.

You gotta get it back out and finish it bro ! I see your comment is 9 months old so did you ever do anything with it ? I’m more of a newb so I don’t have expensive guitars yet but I did get burnt by a local “luthier” 🙄 paid about half of what the guitar cost me to fix some issues and set it up and basically got it back how I dropped it off… that’s what inspired me to start doing my own setups, which led me into building partscasters and just guitar tinkering in general… I’d say for a lot of us working on them is just as fun as playing ! Hopefully you have a good outcome on that guitar
