HE GOT A SATAN TATTOO!? | The Rolling Stones - Sympathy For The Devil | FIRST TIME REACTION Видеоклипы
That man havin' a good time over there was John Lennon of The Beatles.
I spied Pete Townsend from The Who also having a good time
"JOHN LENNON, BEATTLES"
That dude rate there have good time.
That’s who I thought he looked like! But I thought nahh….no way
Yoko Ono was with him, too.
Yoko was with him.
This song released in 1968 so I'm thinking Mick humped the floor before Prince. 🤣
I was raised listening to the Stones. Memories...
Prince was 10 when this came out. So, maybe had some influence for sure.
Do you know Link Wray? He is fantastic and forgotten. I think Mick Jagger sort of copied LR's singing style. 2 songs Black River Swamp and Fire and Brimstone. other great songs, some very instrumental, though. Hope he covers these 2 songs!! and he has not yet SEEN moves by jagger! :).
Anyone else hearing “Whoo-whoo” in your head the whole time this is playing?! 😂😂
Yeah, I wonder why they didn't perfrom the backup vocals.
If you'll notice, just before the 12 minute mark, that was John Lennon in the audience. On a side note, if you can find it (the Beatles always block it, so it's tough to find), Mick Jagger appears in the audience of "all you need is love" by the Beatles. Much peace and love to you....
I've seen Mick Jagger in that Video!
@@irmarocha7809 Yep. Plus, if you can find the interview about this, the Beatles were great fans of Jimi Hendrix. They were invited to a small venue to watch him play. It was only about 2 or 3 days after the lonely hearts album came out, and Jimi played "Strawberry fields forever" for them. They were blown away that he'd already perfected how to play it as well as the fact that he already knew all of the lyrics. Amazing!
He's also the guy dancing at the 7-minute mark. Other notable faces in the crowd: Yoko Ono, Pete Townsend and Donovan.
I thought I saw Keith Moon in the audience as well?
@@Derrick4Liberty I certainly wouldn't doubt that he was. I would be fascinated to know who all were there. I didn't recognize anyone else, but I was pretty sure that I saw Yoko. It looked like she was in the back, and I assumed that she would be sitting up front by John so I dunno what was up with that. Doesn't matter in the end I guess. They were soulmates....
Mick Jagger is about to be 78 this month and literally STILL moves around like this.
IKR! I’ll betcha Jagger can still slide right into these pants from ‘68 too
@@tracyjohnson5023 haha for sure!
This was PRE-Prince. Good analysis for hearing it first time. (When he was on the floor, it looked like he was slithering like a snake, shedding his skin and revealing his identity, and then maybe a cobra when he got halfway up..). (Interesting - LFR 's sliding into blasphemy w this video!)
I gave him 90 for his soul. So... no surprise there.
The guy in front if the bongo player was Brian Jones, He died in 1969. He was a guitar player, sitar player and major part of the Stones until he died. He got big into drugs and was found dead in his pool.
He was murdered. Research the latest investigations. Frank the Contractor. Was angry after being told the Stones would no longer be paying for Brian's home renovation, that he'd already been doing for months. Frank and Brian seen arguing in the pool the evening before he was found at the bottom of the pool next morning.
Frank gave several contradicting statements over the years.
The Police did no real investigation, preferring to BLAME the DRUGS!!
Must've been the drugs, case closed.
And no matter how stoned I might be, I'm sure I'd WAKE UP if I snorted a pail of water. I think Brian would've too.
He was an excellent swimmer.
@@cheripetty1805 well what u say might be true, fact is no one knows except god and brian and if there was another. But on heroin, u dnt wake up trust me,i know ppl WHO drowned in bath tubs on smack.
@@cheripetty1805 not to mention qualudes lol or reds them fckin things took u down,i mean way fckin down lol
@@wslvingtsun6768 - The police report said there was only a few of Brian's prescription pills and about 4 beers in Brian's body at the time of death so he was most likely murdered. Brian use to swim 4 miles in the Mediterranean Sea so there is no way he would drown in his little swimming pool.
@@donnajean3202 but being on qualudes or reds and or opiates, and u gotta know just because a guy could swim 4 miles, but starts doing music i dnt think he could still do 4 miles. But i understand ur point he could swim. But understand mine ive done drugs not proud and been clean almost 20 years. But when high on them drugs, u can't walk straight let alone swim.
07:05 "I may have a good time over there" he was John Lennon 👌🏾💯✌🏻
And Yoko.
The man with the Shakers is the famous Brian jones. He can play any instrument and always came up with some different idea for every song. Unfortunately drugs took its toll with him and he died way too young and The music never sounded the same.
Them's a bunch of crazy hippies Van.
The culture I was raised in. God help me. I love it. Metal & Motown too.
🤗🙌🥃
In case no one mentioned it The guitars chair Keith Richards played the father of Jack Sparrow in the pirates of the Caribbean movies
This song has for many years had a ton of speculation surrounding the meaning and even interviews with Mick he’s said various things about the meaning. The song is a list of horrible events- Jesus Christ crucifixion, “Anastasia screamed in pain” overthrow of the Russian Tsar (the mob executed the entire family Anastasia was a child), the Blitzkrieg raged (WW2 and Nazi Germany), shouted who killed the Kennedy’s (assassination of John and Bobby Kennedy) ..... he (the Devil) was there when all this happened But it was at the hand of men. Was it the Devil that caused it all or are people naturally capable of being horrible??
Yes
It's definitely social commentary. For years it was speculated that Jagger was a satanist and occultist; I'm guessing it was because of this song. If I remember correctly, Jagger said in an interview that he's atheist or agnostic, (I don't remember which.)
@@DaveRod76 yeah he was not a satanist but was aquanted with a few.. he never talked much about religion but grew up in a Catholic family
Definitely by the hand of man but due in part to the whisper in their ear by Satan himself. People like to blame God for not stopping these atrocities but God blessed or cursed us with free will. We are not puppet's. Christ died for all...every single soul past, present and future...will you listen to the whisper or use your free will for good and unconditional love? Hhmmm...👿😇 In the meantime I'll keep rocking out and Praying to the Father of all. God bless...pleased to meet you!
At the time people were alot more religious and he'd get alot of critique about thier music being devilish, encouraging people to drugs, sex etc. This was a reaction to that. Things changed alot since then mainly because of the numerous scandals but also just society growing out of it because of common sense and sience becoming more beneficial.
The guy in the audience with the round glasses and the long hair was John Lennon from The Beatles. There were also members from The Who, Jethro Tull, and The Dirty Mac (the latter was a short-lived supergroup consisting of Eric Clapton, John Lennon, Keith Richards, and Mitch Mitchell) as well as some others, all of which had performances this day too.
I thought I saw Pete Townsend but only saw him for a second!
This is from a movie called Rock And Roll Circus, you can get it on DVD and it might even be on RUclips idk. But I know it's awesome. That's why all the members of The Who and The Beatles and some other big names were in the audience.
Yeah it's out now on dvd and cd
He got the moves like Tina Turner! They had Ike and Tina as support on their first stateside tour, and Tina just blew him away!
Quick shot of John Lennon. Rock n Roll Circus. The maraca player was one of the best members of the band died not long after “Her Satanic Majesties Request”. Downed in his pool (supposedly), and he’s responsible for some of the best stones songs.
Say his name; Brian Jones.
Yeah, grew up w/ the stones. It’s built into my soul.
And Yoko Ono was at John's side.
and Pete Townsend of The Who - plus plenty of other famous 60's bands and singers. this was quite an exclusive party. And believe they were ALL pretty high at the time :)
@@grabtharshammer no doubt.
I think Miss Tina and Mick are the only two that can keep up with each other. YES even in later years. I’ve seen the Stones live a few times and they were great. But Miss Tina is a whole nother level! Neither Mick nor Tina ever stop moving
You mean you grew up listening to them? I grew up with them as I am closely related to one of them.
EASILY one of the best songs ever made!!!
When you said "that man having a good time right there", that was John Lennon!
THANK YOU KRAIG with a K!!! That was great information. I appreciate that
@@LFRFAMILY I appreciate your channel! And all the positivity and energy you bring!
One of their very best! There was a little peek at John Lennon & Yoko Ono, too. The Rolling Stones are incredible!
It looks like Pete Townsend was there as well @12:21. So now I'm wondering who some of the other audience members are that were focused in on.
@@tome9368 alot of musicians there . Lennon.. Clapton.. the who... Jethro Tull
LOVE IT!! I'm going off topic here but, have you ever seen Mick Jagger dancing in the video, "Start Me Up"? 🤣🤣🤣 It will make your sides hurt!!
This performance of this song in this show is surely one of the finest performances in all of popular music history. Maybe in the top 5 of the best performances of the 20th century?! Great reaction.
I love the Stones, and I love this song, but the Who's version of "A Quick One (While He's Away)" blew this (and pretty much anything else) away. That's why the Stones didn't release the movie for decades.
Yes indeed
@@ecbenson98 yeah the stones wre good but the who was better on that evening
Pianist is Nicky Hopkins who plays iconic parts on almost all their tunes.
It's nice to see Keith Richards not looking like the walking dead.
Lucifer is describing terrible things he witnessed in history, all done by human beings.
The USSR Was Good & Eliminating The Tzar & The Worker Rising Out of Peasantry. How Is That Considered Bad?
Cold War Propaganda.
this is such a great version of this song! thanks for checking this out. pretty frkn dope!
Pete Townsend sighting near the end too.
JIMI HENDRIX made moves on his speaker cabinets during many live performances...
You ought to find a live version of Midnight Rambler if you haven't already.
Everybody at that gig was tore up 🤣
Tell me baby, what's my name? Woo hoo hoo hoo. WOW!! Great reaction video!! Yea baby!! WAS THAT JOHN LENNON and YOKO ONO?? OMG!! I love John and Yoko!! What an awesome surprise!! This was PRIMO and EPIC! "If you meet me have some courtesy, have some sympathy, and some taste.....Or I'll lay your soul to waste." I will definitely have some sympathy if I ever meet the devil. Thank you so much, man. Mick Jagger did this before the one and only Prince. Big age difference, Prince was younger, so he took some of his moves from the Rolling Stones front man, Mick Jagger. Everyone did. I liked and subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good work, man. If you do another Rolling Stones, could you do " Paint it Black"? Would love to see your reaction as well as millions of Rolling Stone fans would, too.
If you look at later photos Mick does not have these tattoos so it was just for this performance
I wonder who stenciled those on? Keith?
Now that you've seen this early version, you need to see a later concert version that is WAY more polished and tighter than this early rendition. 🙂
That man having “ a good time over there” was John Lennon (RIP 12-8-80) of The Beatles fame!
John had good seats
Yeah I seen that woohoo John lennon
Omg! I love ya'll! You got it going on! This is how we all come together! Music is the bridge between us that brings us together! We can laugh and wrap our arms around each other. And enjoy each other in what we have in common. And then we can talk about FOOD!
You should watch the lyric video for this song too. The sheer force of Mick pushes most of the lyrics to the back, but the lyrics are profound
Jagger also did one of the first raps in "Memo From Turner," in the early 70s.
The one and only Mick Jagger💜🤘🔥
"Paint iIt Black" Rolling Stones is one of my favorite songs ever.
That was a Union Jack flag, the flag of Great Britain, behind the conga player. Beatle John Lennon, in the audience "having a good time", does Yer Blues with guitar great Eric Clapton on guitar, Rolling Stones guitar great Keith Richards on bass, and Mitch Mitchell, drummer for Jimi Hendrix on drums, later in the show.
Another singer that has some *wild* moves is Iggy Pop. He's 74 and he's STILL rocking it out on stage, like Mick Jagger, who's a little older. The Stones and Iggy Pop both started out in the 60s well before my time, but I love their music. My favorite Stones song is still Paint it Black after all these years.
Definitely
Dancing on glass
Never noticed John Lennon in this video before. Cool as hell.
One of the BEST stones tunes... try Paint it Black!!!
2nd favorite Stones song! Love it!
this is from the concert film "The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus" recorded in 1966 but released 30 years later in 1996...
This was in 1968. Their first show at the Marquee Club in London, 1962 and they're still playing. Van, you know the Rolling Stones are fire!
OMG!! John Lennon and Yoko Ono ( his wife)!!! What a great live show. Thanks so much!!🌈🌈✌️✌️🎤☮️☯️
The stone were accused of glorifying the devil in this song. If you read the lyrics, this song is about the evil inside man, it's not about the devil. The blonde guy is Brian Jones. He was about to be thrown out of the band because of his drug problems. He was the lead guitarist in the band, but his drug abuse issues by this point were so bad he couldn't play. He died, or was murdered depending on which story you believe, not too long after this performance.
Drowned in his pool, supposedly.
@@marymargaretmoore9034 Well, that's not the end of the story. His death certificate reads "death by misadventure", allegedly drowned in the pool, but his grounds keeper made a deathbed confession that he got drunk with Brian one night, got mad about something Brian said to him, so he held him under the water until he was dead. There's a 2005 movie about Brian's last few months called 'Stoned' that tells this story. I think it's available on Netflix or Amazon Prime.
Hi Van. That's not a real tattoo. They're not glamorizing the devil, just talking about the harm he has inflicted on humanity. This is from "Rock & Roll Circus." Please also do "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" from Sticky Fingers.
It's very important what you say....I wanna same, thx! ✌🏻
Thanks for that viewpoint. Made me see this song differently after all these years.
The guy with the "shakers" as you said is Brian Jones who in fact started the band. He could play 40 instruments.
The man with the shakers is the founder of the band,Brian Jones,in his last public appearance with the band.
This song was in the movie Fallen starring Denzel Washington. Great movie. I believe it plays as they go to credits. Another Rolling Stones song featured prominently is “time is on my side”
And "Time Waits for No One."
My favorite of all bands. I love the Stones.
I've seen a couple of reactions to this song, and FINALLY someone actually moves and rock n rolls to this song like I do!:D This is one of the most awesome songs ever made, both lyrically and rhythmically! If This song doesn't make you move, you don't have a soul surfing on that lake of fire:D
This is from the Rolling Stones rock and roll circus. There were lots of great artists and performances there. The Beatles were there and the dude on the bongos is from another great band. At the end they all sing "All you need is love"
Great reaction! You had as much fun as the people there. Well done!
Rolling Stones have been playing Before I was born 1969 🤣👍🇺🇲
That was John Lennon “havin’ a good time over there”!
AYe, before prince, my boy Jimi hendrix was all over the ground.
GOOD STUFF MY MAN!
The song is sung from the point of the view of Lucifer, and outlining how he's been present throughout history.
The guy with the maraccas is Brian Jones. One of the founding members of the band. He developed a drug problem before Keith Richards did, and was eventually kicked out of the band due to the impact drugs were having on his ability to perform. Less than a year later, he was found dead in his swimming pool. Almost immediately, there were whispers that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards conspired to have him killed. Before the drugs ravaged him, he was an incredibly talented multi-instrumentalist.
The guy on the shakers is Brian Jones. He is one of the founding members of the stones. Plays sitar, guitar, harmonica, sings, plays piano. He died in 69 or so. This was from the Rock and roll circus. Most of the people on the crowd were either rockers or famous musicians.
At 12:21 is that Pete Townsend!? Sheesh, cameos by John Lennon, Yoko Ono and Pete Townsend!? Crazy!
THE STONES Yes sir mic and the boys classic choice. This song always brings 🔥 yes lyrics so good bro
You have to have a family night and watch this movie, So many great acts from our resent past.
Enjoyed watching with you..
Diggin your reactions.Keep it going.
Dig n be dug.
Those kids r your grandparents or great grandparents let that sink in 😎
The Rolling Stones really separated themselves from The Beatles comparison with their much more bluesy sound and willingness to take chances! I'd wanna personally request QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE - GIVE THE MULE WHAT HE WANTS / YOU CANT QUIT ME BABY (a lil Zeppelin reference for ya)
Looks like damn good dope going on at this party!!
Every time I watch one of your videos you have a new backdrop 😂😂😂
This was a tv special called The Rolling Stones Rock n Roll Circus. Also on the show was The Who, Taj Mahal, a group made up of John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards on bass and Mitch Mitchell of Hendrix,on drums. They did a song called Yer Blues. Yoko was also in it doing her insane wailing. The show was never released on tv and nobody saw it till it came out on dvd many years later. The Stones did several songs. The guy with the maraccas was Brian Jones, who originally put the Stones together and gave them the name. He was part of the group until his abuse of drugs made him a liability to the group when he got busted and became unable to travel for some time. The rest of them wanted to tour America but he couldnt leave England. Besides that he wasnt contrinuting to their recordings due to being so messed up. Finally he was fired from the group. They asked him to come for this show and thats why hes there. He also plays some nice slide guitar on another of the tunes . Love in Vain. A few months later he drowned in his swimming pool toward the end of 1969 .
Stay true brother and living the light
Foundational Stones lead guitarist is the one playing maracas. This video is from Stones’ Rock and Roll Circus performance The Who performed in this too and many sixties contemporaries were among the audience. John Lennon being among them in the clip here.
What a party! I love this song!
One of my favorite songs. I got to see him in concert.
I love the troll touch of "what's my name" after he told you.
yeah this is young mick jagger and also a fun fact about this, pharrell williams (neptunes, n.e.r.d. and solo) actually remixed this since his beats are similar to this
Guns N Roses did a cover too but most GNR reactions get taken down fairly quickly so probably not worth my time making a suggestion in the main comments section 😆
They guy playing the maracas is Brian Jones and yes he was part of the band when this song was made.
I love how John Lennon and Yoko Ono just jamming in the crowd with the rest of the fans.
Motörhead actually did a remake of this song and I think it was a good one.
Same 🔥🔥🔥
Awesome 😎 🤘🏻
They had this entire show on pbs sometime ago. It is pretty crazy all around
.... look how young you are... love it!! always clean!!!
Famous musical artists were in the audience: John Lennon for Beatles, Peter Townsend from the who etc.
1968.Prince was 10 years old.
This is 1968 definitely before Prince, the guy with the maracas is Brian Jones multinstrumentalist and original member of the band
He was sweating because he was standing right under that stage light, the flag was the Union Jack, it was a party not technically a concert, everyone's drinking & other things one might do at a party back in 1969, I was 3yrs old & my mom was a huge Rolling Stones fan, we would listen to their music every Friday night and dance! Great memories! Keep up what you are doing man, love your content and your family is great 👍. Guests @ the party included, John Lennon, Yoko Ono, the Who (it's a band, check them out) and verious others who were in bands that were around that time, also the girls were either with the bands, wives, girlfriends or well let's say girls who were supporters of the music 😂🤘🤘🏻🤘
Your reaction is great. That man playing the "Shakers" is the FOUNDING MEMBER of the Stones. Brian Jones could play ANYTHING. My boys... Saw them 5 times. The BEST. Keith Richards is legend.
Mick said he wrote this after reading the Russian book "Master and Margarita ". Long book about the devil and magic, but really a book about russian politics. Written the way it was so he didn't get thrown in jail
One of my top 10 songs
Sympathy for the Devil came out in 1968. They were high as hell and having a grand old time.
This is my absolute favorite Stones song?🤘
All the top uk top bands and singers in the audience!
Him self and P Tosh are good friends.
P Tosh is sitting on the steps in the video ' Just waiting on a friend'
I've never liked this original version of Sympathy, but the Guns n Roses cover of it (from the Interview with the Vampire Soundtrack) is my all-time favorite cover song.
I like the G n' R cover too but this was groundbreaking for it's time.
I never was really a big Rolling Stones fan but they did have some good Tunes
When music was much more than just music ... ♥
P.S: Did you saw John Lennon in the audience? o_O
This was 3 years before I was born 1968 and it’s still good
The Stones can multitask 😂✌️🤘
The song was inspired by Bulgakov's famous novel "Master and Margarita" where the main protagonist is a devil himself.
my fav stones song and unless Im mistaken that was jimmy hendricks up at the back wall
Your singing makes me think of the marvelous Marvin Gaye. That's a major compliment sir.
The Stones are so good. That's why they are symbols of rebellion around the globe still
