Remember kids, you can always hold down left trigger when charging a wyvern's fire to aim your gunlance upwards and avoid hitting your allies.

As a partial gunlance Mai I disagree on this statement as the gunlance can be moderately fast and if used well it can be very powerful. You just need a very good sense of timing to use finisher moves as most of the time the monster gets blown back before I can use WS
Also who couldn’t love the sick reload animation when used on its own and after you use a burst fire

As a gunlance main. The 3 most important things to know about the weapon is.
1. The wyvern stake charge or WSC is a mine you put on the monster that explodes when you shot at it. It literally doubles your shell damage output. Always use it.
2. There are 3 types of gunlance (4 if you count only melee gunlance): Long,(3~4) shells, used for charged shelling and the only full shelling type, meaning any form of attack up and crit skills are useless;
Wide,(2~3) shells, used for poke & shell and a lot of wyvern fire;
Normal,(5~6) shells, used for fullburst style, unloading all your clip for big damage but leaving you extremely open.
3. The skills every gunlance build need are artillery and capacity boost (which is basically the only damage skills you need for a Long build), the other good skills for gunlance is: evade extender (increase your hop distance, which is a lot for the gunlance); guard & guard up ( because shield ); slinger capacity (increase the time your WSC stays active), crit eye, crit boost, attack up (for normal and wide, cus they use pokes).
Gunlance may be a little slow for my tastes, even after desperately wanting to enjoy it.
However, I respect the deco choice, as a CB main.

Artillery 5 + Capacity boost.
For when you need one more shell to full burst.
There are ways to make gameplay faster paced requires getting rid of damage and going for quality of life skills.
Aaah my CB brother in arms. Sending you lots of bromance love with thoughts of Artillery +5, Focus +3, Capacity Boost, Guard +5, Guard Up - and all the damn crit we can muster.

Honestly, the more I played around with gunlance the more I realized how much I love it. I started off loving the charge blade and the shield, but I always wanted something a bit more defensive. Gunlance still makes me feel like I can dish out some damage and it looks cool as hell! How many other games can you have a lance and a gun combo? I love the weapons that you can only find in monster hunter like the switch axe, charge blade, gunlance, and some of the other wacky weapons.

I really wanted to learn editing too but I don't know which programs I should get.
Start with premiere pro or video editors.
Those are the base
Then continue with Photoshop do you can get use to edit details on pictures.
And then you go with After effect. This is like a Photoshop but for videos.

I can't say this is my favorite episode of the series but its still awesome to see gunlance get some love. I hope this video encourages more people to try out underrated and less used weapons like gunlance and lance.

Been on a lance kick lately! normally i play HH but this shit is something else. I feel immortal and the monsters just dont get a break. Lance has an answer to everything the monster can do and its all at your fingertips 100 percent of the time
Always remember, the thing that separates a good GL main from a bad one, is how much they can stick to a monster and deliver explosions consistently.
Gunlance is so satisfying man. Especially when you have multiple of them in the team (yeah the chances of that happening...), or sticky ammo users. Wyrmstake blast makes their game too.

If you get that Wyvernstake Blast in the right spot on most monsters you can chainjuggle them to death in now time. Gunlance has obsurd control. And if using Long Shelling, Earplugs 5 and every other defensive under the sun is a DPS upgrade. 0 downtime, 0 worries about getting 1 or 2 shot on most hunts. Just stand in fire, DPS higher.
Fun fact: You can free aim Wyvern Fire by pressing LT or L3, and aim the lance by moving the camera

I know this is an OLD vid but my eyes lit up when that Ys VIII music started playing. Didn’t think anybody in the MH community would know about Ys
After finishing killing every boss in the game some tons of times I can say that I love switching weapons and changing my gameplay many times each day and gunlance is not a bad choise but some players just prefer diferent weapons even tho every weapon is unique in it's own way
Diablos is literally the only reason I tried out gunlance.
As a gunlance main, this makes me very happy

I can feel for those wyvern stake fails, hate when that stuff happens espicially when your about to kill the monster
Went though all of Iceborn, Guard Five so I blocked pretty much all damage, Guard Up so I could block literally anything, and then everything came together when I got Raging Brachydios Armor, so now I had Artillery FIVE out of 3, shells did so much damage and I could Wyvern Fire every like 30 seconds. So much explosion.
I come here very late, but thx for bringing Yakuza 0 back in my thoughts, Friday Night was enough to melt my heart.
I miss gunlance trip values from world… not only did our shells get deleveled in rise, but our trip values virtually don’t exist anymore, all this in exchange for the ability to spam wyvern fire and a extra shell for long and normal lances. And before anyone brings up the groundsplitter buff that just gives us our old level 5 shells.

I dont play online at all so I wouldnt know for sure, but I feel like gunlance is actually the most underrated weapon in mhw:ib. Theres the hunting horn but at the same time theres so much memes and people talking about, meanwhile I never hear anyone talk about the gunlance at all. I could be wrong though.
At 2 minutes, the guys on the nergigante named "Nosheros" is nos héros in french, which means "Our Heroes", that make that part of the video even more funnier XD
fun fact: as much as wyvern's fire is extremely cool and satisfying to land, wyrmstake cannon is always the better option for a downed monster, EVEN WITH wyrmstake blast planted

Gunlance is easily my favourite weapon in the game.
Literally the only complaint I have about it is that the Shelling Types feel too restrictive for how each GL plays.
Gunlance would be more fun if the shelling types didn't mean that one specific combo outdid every other move in your arsenal in almost all situations.
Tbh it only matters if you want to be optimal in your dps, you can full burst a wide type and it can deliver decent damage.

The first time I did an Aerial Burst, it was by accident and I was like “OOOOOO” lol it’s gotta be one of the most satisfying moves to pull off. Every weapon has one like that, and this is the gunlance’s
Real talk from another GL user, you are familiar with the speed-reload right? I don't believe I saw any clips of it in use so I just wanted to be sure you were using the full kit. You can use the same reload button combo as the main reload to net yourself just the shells following basically any "Lance" centric move. It is THE core part of the Normal Gunlance's main Full-Burst playstyle (Fatalis is one such GL).

Don't let what I say stop you from using the weapon it's still superb and I feel most could adjust to the issues I had.
Coming from a former gunlance main here but towards the end of iceborne gunlance lost it's shine that it had in high rank in my opinion and it sucks because it's such a cool weapon. Like man the tick damage is real (looking at you rajang and raging brachy)
And then at the very end slaplance ends up being the meta rip

The snowman exploit doesn't just work on Gunlance, ut also works on the Palico volcano tool. You can speed run the game with just a snowman, 2 mega Barrel Bombs and that tool. It's stupidly op that you can beat alatreon in under 1 minute with it, same with Fatalis
