It's been quite a while since I last watched this performance by Laura Bretan. And it will never cease to amaze me how emotional Laura sang. It was as if I was watching a performance on the stage of an opera house. Beautiful!

The one thing I really like about all these talent shows is that they have given some amazing opera singers the platform for the world to be exposed to opera singing. Many people who had not been exposed have fallen in love and many more to really appreciate opera.
I think that is very true, but I wonder how many people actually take the next step and go to a major House to see a full opera or a concert. if you want to be introduced to great newcomers in the opera world, you won’t find them on these talent shows. There is perhaps nothing better than watching the ‘BBC Cardiff Singer of the World’ competition, which has been held every two years since 1983 and is broadcast on BBC4. Just getting to the live performances is a huge achievement and many go on to have major international careers. As for some of the winners, they form a who’s who of classical singing.

Amira is not a spinto soprano, she's a light soprano, Laura bretan is a spinto soprano, I heard Amira at 15 years old, and I heard Laura bretan at 15 years old, Laura is by far the best by a landslide, listen to her on agt, and if you know your opera, you will know that Laura bretan is easily better than the rest on that list.
and she is the only teenager who performs ... her vocal range is extraordinarily large and colossal ... it's Callas, Sutherland, Tebaldi and Durbin together
Amira is clearly improving all the time and has a massive following on youtube with well in excess of 500m views The reason ? She has the ability to bring large audiences to tears because of her beautiful voice and stage presence and the complete and utter ease of doing this is breathtaking. At the moment she is concentrating on her schooling and is careful not to overstretch herself so she will undoubtably protect her voice for the future Also she started a foundation when she was 10 which provides playgrounds for poor children who otherwise would have nothing Comparison ?? lets not do this please lets just say she has only just begun and has more views on youtube than all the rest put together
All these were great stuff. I saw that Cristina Ramos once before...that was brilliant. I was also stunned by that little Amira as well, she is now older and stilling well, even better.
I wish everyone would stop saying these people can't sing opera and that this is a terrible compilation!! Every singer on this list is amazing!!! Jackie and Amira are great yes but that doesn't mean we need to say these singers are terrible!!

Laura and Amira are the best. Their voices are different, but both superbe and already at their age, at the top of the world. Music is also and perhaps primarily emitting emotions, which is why Callas was considered the best time of its time. Laura also has that great emotional quality. In addition, her smile is out of this world. I also love Amira, her beautiful beautiful voice and her playful nature. We are lucky to listen and see both, as much as we want / can. Thank you RUclips and all the uploaders. I hope the fans not only love their idol, but can also enjoy the others. The more we love, the more we enjoy. With these talents and others such as Alma Deutcher, Emily Bear, Angelina Jordan and Akiane Kramarik (not a singer, but check her out - it's amazing). The future is happening.
There's only one Jonathan Antoine. Biggest talent to come out of all seasons of BGT. Most others were surprising and quite good, but he was/is on a Pavarotti level.

The other Guy sings the worst kind of Muzak, with a microphone shoved down his throat. The only comparison I would draw is to their girth.
You don't listen to enough rock and metal. Tons of first class vocalists that switch back and forth from opera to metal and rock vocals. Everyone knows nightwish,but you should also listen to manowar,minniva,orions reign,palantir and winterage. There are probably a thousand or more others but those names will get you down the right rabbit hole on youtube.
The 13 year old girl ive never seen her before but if you know the song she sang oh my lord well done im a grown man of 38 years and it brought me to tears

She's good but I'm not a fan of miss mashing things up by switching styles it just sounds totally out of context, that said her rock voice was pretty cool too, but for me Jonathan Antoine is the only truly credible opera voice in this entire compilation.

I watched the movie about Paul Potts and it's amazing that he even made it to the stage. What happened to him before he got there is shocking. Even moments before he went on he was about to leave. But he didn't and he made it. Bravo.

Not enough breath support, wide vowels, not lifting the soft pallet, singing from the throat, and look at the last high note. her lips were all over the place to find support. She will learn with time if she invests in it
The young "Goth" gent is a true natural talent. With respect, please put the emphasis on the positive aspects of your life and talent. Those of us that understand Italian realize the nature of the aria is very dark. Combine the later with your negative comments regarding yourself and manner of dress, one might be easily concerned about you. MegaMonkey Blaster yes they split up over 4 years ago , Jonathan has had two solo albums go straight to No1 in the classical charts since then . He's performed to a sellout concert in America just this September.
I love both but for my money I actually think Amira has already developed better breathing technique then Jonathan.
