Is a Base Model Bronco All You Need?

- Lets bring transparency back to RUclips:
This Bronco was $43,195 when it was brand new. I bought it used with 9,000mi for $47,000 - Add on taxes and it's $49,780 -AKA "50k" in my last video. It had a base price of $32,095 when new and $11,100 in options and delivery.
Did I ever think I'd pay over MSRP for a used vehicle? Nope. But that's just how it goes these days with limited production. I'm super excited to start modifying the Bronco and share it with y'all. If you want a super capable off road rig- I think the base sasquatch is all you need. - Авто/Мото
Forget the haters and rock on!
I thoroughly enjoy my base 2 door manual Bronco!
I have a white base sas 2 door waiting to be shipped. So dang excited. I look forward to seeing what you do with yours.
Nice! Welcome to the Bronco fam!
Does it have an ETA? I’m about to get a sas 2 door myself and curious about how long it would take
@@andrewfkramer my arrival date to the dealership was scheduled for April 14th-20th. That date came and went so im waiting on an update. Hopefully I will hear something soon. I pre ordered in October of 2020
@@andrewfkramer I got it a few days ago! Its so worth the wait!
I have a 2023 base sas manual and love i waited 955 days from reserving to picking it up.
Can’t wait to get mine. Thanks for sharing!
I ordered the stick, on purpose. Yes, it's fun off-road, and yes, it's more challenging, too.
Sometimes a challenge = fun! I think I'd enjoy it too, but I also enjoy the 2.7L which you can't get with the stick.
I have a 2023 Ford Bronco base. I love being able to personalize my own truck. The aftermarket has so many high quality parts that are cheaper than the add-on options for Ford when I placed my order. Plus I have sick look 18" rims now with nice Goodyear Wrangler Duratec AT tires that look better than what Ford had. My new sound system sounds better than the B&O sound system that some trims could get as an upgrade. I have side boards now that look awesome. I am also planning to change out the front and rear bumpers down the line. Overall, I like having a blank canvas that I can turn into my own.
By the time I got my rebate last week I got the Big Ben with the Sasquatch package and several other upgrades and walked out for 23K. But our dealership sells at MSRP. Your right on that winch it’s crazy expensive. After market Parts are cheaper and often times better
I don’t see how a $2500 rebate could get you anywhere close to 23k - even at MSRP. You should share your purchase order!
@@Parker_Fuller I said out the door it includes my trade, however my rebate was 6k because I waited 3 years to get it. The 2500 rebate everyone gets for just buying if you waited for your truck you get additional rebates. Then my dealer also sell all new vehicles at MSRP then takes off rebates. I also got 52000. Points to purchase additional items for my bronco. I will use the points to do my oil changes after I use up my free ones. Again a log has to do with the dealer you use. Most dealers will add on 15k or more to the MSRP. They also add huge amounts to used vehicles. If you had a half way decent trade I hope you paid far less than you said however if you paid over 35k for a base bronco with a Sasquatch package you over paid. Mine is a big bend Sasquatch and to get it built I have both hard and soft top, front and rear protection guards all 8 goat modes without getting it reprogrammed. The only things I chose to go without was the 360 degree cam larger 12 “ screen and leather. My MSRP started at 55K. The dealership priced it at 51K then took off rebates they could find me. The Bronco was not eligible for D plan. Your dealer took advantage of the fact the two doors are harder to get no doubt. But I’m telling you you need to find a new dealership. And if you bought it from a private party they took advantage too
@@tgland02494 bruh. You can’t subtract your trade value 😂😂😂 you still PAID for the full price, you just used money from a different vehicle. You still can’t seem to grasp that I did not order this truck. I’m done arguing with you. 🤡
@@Parker_Fuller oh they bent him over for sure. Lmao he aint telling what he traded and what they gave him. My bet is he lost his shirt on the trade. I work for dealerships and my one son sells fords that’s how I got the same bronco you have but a 23 for sticker otherwise they are 5 to 15 k over.
Love it,hopefully I can get one just like yours.
I want the same combo but with the 7-Speed. The manuals are apparently a lot better on gas. And I like the anti-theft feature :)
You can ONLY get the manual with the 2.3L 4cyl. Thats really why you see better mpg.
@Parker_Fuller It makes sense. The parasitic loss on autos is always more. At least ones with torque converters.
My badlands, 2 door, sas, lux is 61
I also have a white 2-door base Bronco. But mine has a 7-speed manual and doesn't have the Sasquatch package. The only extra it had was 17-inch rims with 32-inch tires (probably installed by the dealer to help it sell for more). And even then, it barely clears my garage (most garages here in Chicago are older and have only around 6'4" of clearance).
The plan is to install front and rear lockers (the goal is for it to be able to handle at least intermediate muddy trails and the occasional Chicago blizzard). But sadly, bigger tires and further lift are out of the question. I love my Bronco, but not enough to build a new garage for it! LOL
It is nice the Sasquatch package is a must for me but the only thing keeping me from getting a base model Sasquatch is I also want the wash out floors and the marine grade vinyl seats witch limits me to a Badlands or Black Diamond. Thanks for sharing
The green Black Diamond in my Arkansas videos was only $51 - but it was ordered brand new when they were released and took something like 19 months to get delivered.
Folks are just hating because they don’t have a Bronco.
I’ve had my 2023 Race Red 4 Door Sasquatch Badlands 2.7 Lux package since February absolutely love it. Paid MSRP $62k before rebates.
Base model is simple and simplicity equals reliability
I put 315 70 r17 KO2 on my 2020 Tundra. Definitely a good size tire.
Nice! Did you have to lift it?
@@Parker_Fuller it's a trd pro. I put the Wescott Designs lift on it. You get 1 1/2" in front and 1" in rear. I also have ironman4x4america front bumper so there is no rubbing.
I'm looking forward to where you decide to go off roading in Wisconsin. I'm not aware of a ton of options outside of the National Forests.
I spend a lot of time in the UP, since its a short drive from me- There is 10x the trails there than here. I've done the 7hr Plane Crash Trail which starts in WI, and will probably do the TWAT even though it isn't all that challenging.
I humbled myself and went with the base big bend, just to pay 7k for new axles in the aftermarket. Only different is, I'm actually paying more than you. If we put it all on paper. For almost the same options, My only benefit is I would have stronger cv shafts. I was exhausted calling over 30 plus dealers to see if they had a base sas or allocations for one. Nobody within a day away had allocations for one. Most of the sasquatch broncos on dealer lots are all higher trims. I was tempted to go black diamond but decided base or base big bend is a better deal.
What axles did you go with?
@@Parker_Fuller I really wanted RCVs but ended up going dana spicer 32 spline cv shafts for now. Broncbuster makes it easy to just order through them. Mines going to be a daily/weekend warrior.
@@Reecesavage-Alwayswin Been seeing alot of talk about the BroncBuster stuff - I have a feeling I'll be placing a couple orders there
What about the front dissconect? I torn between a base sas vs the badlands
I’ve gotten over everything I’ve needed to with out it, and I’ve seen plenty of people have errors with the electronic disconnect which then means they are stuck one way or the other and I think if the vehicle can reconnect them it limits you to like 20-25mph.
You could always buy a quick disconnect manual kit for the base SAS, OR- just disconnect it and zip it up out of the way- FREE.
That’s why there’s no two bronco’s that are the same, everyone does something different to theirs to make it their own, I have a 1970 bronco that I’ve had for 30 years
My black diamond mid package 4 door is nice but i like my 2 door base better. My wife loves the black diamond she picked what she wanted in it. My two 2 is the play toy. Its going to be built. Got both for marp.
Everyone asks in the real car Community who would be dumb enough to buy the new Bronco for that amount of money. But then there's someone who bought two, which chooses to filter out all the negative and only accept positive input for his purchase oh, it's kind of like being a trump supporter. Even though it's universally ridiculed for being less than the sum of its parts you still bought them
rock on Mike!
I had a 4 door base with sasquatch built and a 4 door black diamond with mid package. Both 2.7 and both hard tops. Price at the time was 1400 bucks more for the black diamond. Ultimately i went with the black diamond for the mid package and the nicer interior and threw some 33s on it. Sucks that a base 2 door bronco sasquatch with mod bumper and upfitter switches is 50k now. Probably mid 30's when they first came out.
I actually listed out all the price details in the description! You might find them interesting.
@Parker Fuller If it's what you wanted and you had the extra cash, I don't fault you for paying a dealer markup especially since the 2 doors are hard to get now.
@@MudMonsterRacing4 isn’t it crazy?! Even at $47,000- that was still under market value according to several appraisal sites and was cheaper than I was seeing them listed at other dealers.
@@Parker_Fuller Indeed. Wife has a bronco as well. We go her big bend with mid and rear locker off the lot new for 1k more than the price of the base she had ordered after the ford price hikes. So we beat ford at their latest price hikes.
Ford raised the price and if they can't catch up to current orders. I can see the price being raised again unfortunately.
cool
Probably lack of features impacted by chip shortage bro. Ford had to make tough decisions
Good job with this video and getting all the nay sayers to shut up
All of the cars you mentioned are 50% depreciated luxury cars, and I will follow you just to see how bad the Bronco really is and to see if you're honest about it
It’s not a bad vehicle at all. I have one too, and just about everyone who buys one loves it
Depreciation lets me buy the cool rides I could never afford new, and most people who see them still think they are double the price. I think it will be interesting to see how the Bronco holds resale value.
Your gonna follow him in hopes that he made the wrong decision? I love driving my 23 big bend it’s just a fun ride in my opinion have zero regrets trading in my 22 tundra
@@glenarseneau1231 I'm going to follow to see if he's honest about the issues and the fact that is less than the sum of its parts and disappointing in many ways
Actually. You would’ve saved more money not getting Sas and doing all of the upgrades yourself. Big tires and lift. Plus, get the Pedal Commander for more power.
By the time you buy the upgraded transfer case, locking rear diff, locking front diff, coil over suspension lift, 5 wheels, 5 35” tires, steel bumper, and pay for install, that would be far from saving money.
What?? You’re comparing used prices on cars that depreciate poorly… compare the prices new to new, and those cars are all more expensive than the Bronco base, up to 2x more.
1st Gen Raptor was $45k new
C450 AMG was 51k new
328d was 40k new
Plenty of other examples.
No it might not have been because it was used however to start with your raptor was 3x what a base bronco was.
Brand new, the 2010 Raptor was $38,995.
@@Parker_Fuller inn2010 a bronco would have been 15-20k too. Again you can’t compare a 2010 model year with a 2022 or 23. Today a new raptor with the high end stereo and other options would run you minimum MSRP of 75-90K. So again you can’t compare the two prices as truck prices are way higher than in 2010. I had a Chevy Silverado loaded in 2011 and I paid 24k. Same truck today is 80k.
For the most part the ‘base’ is good enough..however yours is not a 100% base. However the interior is too base with that plastic steering wheel..yuck. If you are going to get a base then get it with the SAS, manual with the Aux switches.
But manual is ONLY an option if you also get the 4cyl engine which was a no-go for me. The wheel is definitely ugly. I purchased a raptor wheel to put in my f150 - hoping I will be able to do the same here at some point.
The only correct broncos have 2 doors, a manual transmission, and the Sasquatch package.
Dang! I almost nailed it lol. I Did really like driving the manual, but you know what they say- Happy wife, happy life. She was skeptical on buying the bronco, but after I got it home she loves driving it.
Got it right but went automatic , my 69 bronco had an automatic too. Lol
u make the bronco look gay get out!
Don't worry, it has tint now so you wont see me inside and think the vehicle looks gay anymore.
Don't call it a truck because it's not a truck
Well technically it's a 2024 ford ranger with a bronco body on frame design.
Body on frame, same engine as an F150... Why isn't it a truck?
@@Parker_Fuller Exactly
It is a truck , it’s definitely not a car , do you think a van is a truck or a car ? Just wondering .
@@wallywanker7435 whatever it is is very small very clunky and less than the sum of its parts and certainly not worth 40 to $70,000 it's a hyped social media car.. I work at a dealer and people are very disappointed in them
