this was really helpful as I'm currently working on a Design for Steam methane reforming for University. i had no idea what a water separation unit was. Great vid!!!
Producers use different color schemes but painting separators a dark color will enhance the emulsion separation by absorbing heat from the sun. Sometimes in the heat of the summer a dark colored heater treater may not need to run the burner to maintain vessel temperature. It will definitely save on fuel costs to heat the vessel.
@@KimrayInc This is exactly what I thought. Good for viscosity reducing and further separation as a result. Thank you for your explanation. Frankly, I've never seen such a processing facilities with so little application of electric control system. Mechanical controls look spectacular. You, guys, do an amazing job!
There are many similarities between a FWKO and a horizontal separator but the main difference between the two is the size. The FWKO will have a much larger diameter to allow for more retention/residence time.
A FWKO is similar to a slug catcher but the application is different. Slug catchers are made for gas applications in the midstream sector to separate condensate (NGL’s) from the gas when a pipeline is pigged (cleared).
many Thanks for video, ..is it fwko operation allow for high pour point oil ? how about pressure setting fwko ? high pressure will accelerate break emulsion ?
If you’re having issues with high pour point oil or paraffin you may need a heated vessel or run the flow through a line heater before the FWKO. The goal of the free water knockout is to knock out the free water. The separation of the emulsion is done in a separator downstream of the FWKO. Very good analysis. All the best for you
Great stuff and loving it! Got a question, any reason why the process equipments and piping are black in colour?
Thanks alot for this information, its really useful
Very nice video and explanation! Thank you.
Muy buenos los videos..gracias
Thanks alot for information
Great video Mark. Miss you at Alpha.
Great stuff. Very informative.
Glad it was helpful!
very help full video,thanks
If possible please explain low pressure Master seperators working principal
Many thanks for such good presentation
You are most welcome!
I'm mechanical engineer I'm working as piping Designer. Is this type of video will help for mechanical engineers?
Why all the vessels are painted in black? Are they not been heated with sunlight?

So in other words, it's same as Horizontal 3 phase separator ?

So same as a separator or heater treater?

@@KimrayInc Is Slug Catcher 2 or 3 phase separator ?
Good Job . Bro
muito bom.
very good
Why every equipment Color is black
