Thanks for detailed video! I like this video so much that I bought a secondhand Linksys E900 for 7 Euro and installed WRT on it! I just wanted to follow the exact same steps from your video. I'm using this Linksys E900 WRT for networking experiments around the house. Awesome.
I'll be trying this out this weekend after I read everything and download what I'm supposed... and also when my hands stop sweating. You make it sound simple enough, but I can't help being nervous! 😟
Another great video - this is the more important part of the process I needed to watch. And I absolutely LOVE the intro to this video - you make me laugh! :)
@@Behfor - everything is working PERFECTLY!! It's doing exactly what I needed it to do - internet connection successful! ONE question - I noticed after the flash and final update of the firmware, the light on the top of my router is no longer illuminated. Do you know why, and is it possible to activate that light? I have the Linksys EA6900.
The video is great, all your directions are awesome! The Peacock Announcement in other had is fill OF UNNECESSARY UPPERCASE, confuse and messy. But I did read it.
I almost threw my E900 router in the garbage before finding this video. You have saved me $30 and for that I will let you sleep with my wife. Thank you again sir.
New to setting up a wifi connections but here goes. I have router number 1 up and running well and the internet is available from it. One of its lan connections was fed into a power extender through my hydro wires. The other end where the internet is tapped off of is going to an old computer at the moment and it is confirmed that the internet is up and running at that test location. That second power device is going to be moved to a place very close to a WiFi security camera. So the question is how do I get a wifi signal to the camera from that second power lan device connection? I have a second LInksys router available for use. EA6500 v2
Thanks for your video. U can make a video how to configure this router to repeat the wifi signal? I'm having problems when I configure for repeat. Problems like that the router repeat the signal, I can use Internet but only connected trought Ethernet ports, when I try to connect to the router trought wifi doesn't connect, I'm using the last build of DD-WRT
Hi, thank You done your vídeo, I follow all the instructions, I did the first or initial flash and It worked out very well. After that I tryed yo upload to the mega versión (last one) 2020 and the router does not boot anymore, I did the 30 30 30 reset but the light doesnt turns on anymore!! Any recommendation to recover the mini versión or try to get in the config? Thanks so mucho!!
Hi, unfortunately it looks like your router might have been bricked! If the light doesn't even power on it could be that the router is damaged. Just google "ddwrt recover from a bad flash" you'll find a link that might be helpful! I never had to deal with this situation to give you better info but hopefully that link would be useful. Thanks.
@@Behfor , Thank you so much for your response! I've been reading about recovery from bad flash, and actually discover that the bootloader is responding (TTL=100) at the beginning, so I am trying to upload some frimwares, but without exit up to now! Any recomendation would be nice! Thanks again!!
Hey there. This video is no doubt very helpful and amazing. However i followed the instruction and did a flash reset on my DLINK DIR-615 I1, i think i messed with the timings when rebooting, i was supposed to wait for atleast 5mints to get flashed and reboot properly but i reboot it before that (i think around 2 or 2.5mints) and now its just has a still amber light on power instead of green light and all 4 lan lights are keep flashing after sometime.... Is there any fix to it?? can i redo everything i messed with it please????? any suggestions will be very helpful... THanksssss.
Hi, amazing video one question: I have a Sitecom router: 450N X6 WLR-6000 There are other (older) versions that are supported for DD-WRT. does that mean that my router is competible as well? And which version should I use? gr, lucas
Hi Lucas, Thanks for your question and sorry for my late response! Unfortunately I could not find any clues that the Sitecom WLR-6000 router is supported!! And if an older model is supported it doesn't necessarily mean the newer models are also supported, so unfortunately I don't think yours is supported (or at least I couldn't find any signs) Sorry! I would try Open-WRT or Tomato to se if they support it or not, those are good firmware too. Thanks!
I was doing the exact same thing in your vid because we have the exact same router. Everything was going well until the frimware upgrade. I've downloaded the v24-43652 k2.6 mega (which is the updated one) but it seems like my pc can't detect my router.

I have an Archer c60 from Tp Link but I've recently upgraded my internet for 120 Mbps, so I'm thinking about buying a Dir 878 from D link. Live in a 947 sqft apartment. Do you think it's a good idea? Please do more router review videos and more tests. Thank you!
greatly done well intro bro how is error correction & speed improvements in latest ddrt? I have got mi 4a extender I want to pair with e900 I bought an archer but its potato haven't upgraded that its on stock build
So I already did the initial firmware and am trying to upgrade. Whenever I hit the upgrade button it starts up but after 3 seconds the connection is lost and says "Site cannot be reached" Any ideas?
I wouldn't do that! Installing a 3rd party firmware is already risky and I personally do not want to make it any riskier by not following the instructions and taking shortcuts! Because if something goes wrong I could permanently damage and brick my wireless router!
I did both these flashes (2013 versions, like on the video) on my old E900 and it seemed to work, although both times the screen disappeared during the flash which I don't remembering you mention. When I got it done, it worked and I got the Internet. The problem I'm having is with the wireless part. It's not at 192.168.1.0, it's at 192168. 250.1 for some reason. It pops up with an Ubuntu AirOS login page. I tried the Ubuntu default login and it wasn't accepted. I don't understand why the wireless login is different from the hardwired login. I'm 71, so be gentle.
Hi and thanks for your question. The IP address of the E900 router is by default 192.168.1.1 (NOT 192.168.1.0), so regardless of how you are connected to it (wired or wireless) you should use that IP address (192.168.1.1) to access the login page. My guess is the 192.168.250.1 is an IP address of an Ubiquiti device on your network, that's why you see the login page for that and has nothing to do with your E900! Also please make sure you are connected to the wireless network of the E900 and not something else. I hope that helps :-)
Not necessarily, it adds professional level features to normal home wireless routers. The kind of feature usually found in much more expensive devices.
Have you installed DD-WRT and not able to connect or you haven't installed and not able to connect? Are you using the correct IP address for your router? (Different routers might have different IP addresses) If yes, are you able to PING the router?
Thanks for detailed video!

Why did you flashed the 2013 version and not latest 2019 version?
Because it was suggested by the Wiki page, then I upgraded it to the latest.
cant find the firmware for this router on the website
Is it OK, using directly last version of firmware like 2020 Version. ?
