I have this same fridge, I run it on the lowest setting off a leisure battery and it lasts 24 hours , I've learnt if I turn it off in-between it will last another maybe 12 hours , so then I have to recharge my battery to full.
It's a cheap solution that's better than nothing. The better brands are much better than the cheapest ones. I use two Dometic ones in my van, one similar to yours and a smaller one. They are not the best for efficiency (grade A is highest) because of the way they work, by passing a small electric current through two plates which causes one plate to cool and one to heat up (some can be used to heat as well as cool by reversing the current) The fan is the only moving part which takes the heat from the hotter plate. On the upside this simplicity means they last for years. Downsides are they can only reduce the temperature by a maximum of 20c below ambient (still better than an ordinary cool box) and there is a condensation issue when the outside temperature is high. I use an old cooling rack placed in the bottom and place the food on that to stop issues with water in the bottom and wipe it out every other day. Next build I will use a small domestic fridge run off a dedicated inverter with enough solar and batteries to make this work, that way I can have bigger capacity and the luxury of a small freezer section. Iced drink on a hot day, nice.
If it's good for you and does the job for you then that's all that matters regardless of what anyone else says.. what's good for them is ok for them.. we're all different and have our own preferences... Take care Mark and hope Cornwall is kind to yourself and Sally..🤠
At the end of the day if you’re happy and it suits your needs keep it . If you kept the receipt you can return if a few weeks down the road you change your mind . Have a great time in Cornwall looking forward to hearing about it ❤❤
Hi Mark hows is go Can I ask why you are running your cool box for your inverter and not just through the 12 V straight from your battery as you’ll be using more power going through your inverter then just straight 12v
Snap , got the same one , its sat in garage thou and only really for longer term power cuts etc .. paid i think 40/50 but that was ages ago ..🤪, i thought being halfords it would at least be fairly decent .
Love your channel mate , but no disrespect these coolbox es are not great, tried them in the past and now have compressor fridge which is a game changer. The fridge I have will switch itself off if it detects Leisure battery is low
Whatever u r happy with Mista , that’s what it’s all about lol. A thought, get a cigarette lighter extension cable and plug it in when driving UNTIL u get yer solar panels fitted.❤️🙏
They are terrible mate . And eat power. Get a 12 volt apicool compressor fridge or apicool compressor box. I can leave mine on eco mode parked up for 4 days plugged in on a 100amp hour leisure battery with a 350 wat inverter. It will happily go as low as -18 if i set it for that. I currently run it at 2 degrees. They also have an app and low battery security feature.
They are crap I brought one took it back after one weekend then brought a 50l alpicool so much better can have as a fridge or fridge/freezer runs off 12v uses very little power most I think 34 watts then drops as it gets colder then when it’s got to the temperature you’ve set it at it turn off the only uses 2 watts
Love your blogs keep on doing what you're doing.

Cool ! 😂
Mark run it on 12v inverter uses more power and get some solar panels on roof run all day with no battery drain.good to see you and Sally back.
Love the life ,,,
What's it like if you plug it into your cigarette lighter socket ? Ive got a halford compressor cool box , oops remembered you cant answer
wait, is that why he never replies? howcome?
