I occasionally ponder whether our scientific concepts are fundamentally flawed and if the universe appears the way it does solely because our brains, acting as “the hard drive / Processor,” selectively provide us with information that’s not the actual reality of nature. It’s possible that our understanding of physics and our universe isn’t a true reflection of reality but rather a construct shaped by our brains. So what appears to be fine-tuning is the tuning of the brain processing these ideas and images in our minds.
Like a fly continuously hitting a window and not understanding what is stopping it flying forward. It just keeps adapting what it understands rather than coming to a conclusion there is something there it's not evolved to understand.
A segment from 'Saved by the Light of the Buddha Within'... My new understandings of what many call 'God -The Holy Spirit' - resulting from some of the extraordinary ongoing after-effects relating to my NDE... Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what some scientists are now referring to as the unified field of consciousnesses. In other words, it’s the essence of all existence and non-existence - the ultimate creative force behind planets, stars, nebulae, people, animals, trees, fish, birds, and all phenomena, manifest or latent. All matter and intelligence are simply waves or ripples manifesting to and from this core source. Consciousness (enlightenment) is itself the actual creator of everything that exists now, ever existed in the past, or will exist in the future - right down to the minutest particles of dust - each being an individual ripple or wave. The big difference between chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo and most other conventional prayers is that instead of depending on a ‘middleman’ to connect us to our state of inner enlightenment, we’re able to do it ourselves. That’s because chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo allows us to tap directly into our enlightened state by way of this self-produced sound vibration. ‘Who or What Is God?’ If we compare the concept of God being a separate entity that is forever watching down on us, to the teachings of Nichiren, it makes more sense to me that the true omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence of what most people perceive to be God, is the fantastic state of enlightenment that exists within each of us. Some say that God is an entity that’s beyond physical matter - I think that the vast amount of information continuously being conveyed via electromagnetic waves in today’s world gives us proof of how an invisible state of God could indeed exist. For example, it’s now widely known that specific data relayed by way of electromagnetic waves has the potential to help bring about extraordinary and powerful effects - including an instant global awareness of something or a mass emotional reaction. It’s also common knowledge that these invisible waves can easily be used to detonate a bomb or to enable NASA to control the movements of a robot as far away as the Moon or Mars - none of which is possible without a receiver to decode the information that’s being transmitted. Without the receiver, the data would remain impotent. In a very similar way, we need to have our own ‘receiver’ switched on so that we can activate a clear and precise understanding of our own life, all other life and what everything else in existence is. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day helps us to achieve this because it allows us to reach the core of our enlightenment and keep it switched on. That’s because Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what scientists now refer to as the unified field of consciousnesses. To break it down - Myoho represents the Law of manifestation and latency (Nature) and consists of two alternating states. For example, the state of Myo is where everything in life that’s not obvious to us exists - including our stored memories when we’re not thinking about them - our hidden potential and inner emotions whenever they’re dormant - our desires, our fears, our wisdom, happiness, karma - and more importantly, our enlightenment. The other state, ho, is where everything in Life exists whenever it becomes evident to us, such as when a thought pops up from within our memory - whenever we experience or express our emotions - or whenever a good or bad cause manifests as an effect from our karma. When anything becomes apparent, it merely means that it’s come out of the state of Myo (dormancy/latency) and into a state of ho (manifestation). It’s the difference between consciousness and unconsciousness, being awake or asleep, or knowing and not knowing. The second law - Renge - Ren meaning cause and ge meaning effect, governs and controls the functions of Myoho - these two laws of Myoho and Renge, not only function together simultaneously but also underlies all spiritual and physical existence. The final and third part of the tri-combination - Kyo, is the Law that allows Myoho to integrate with Renge - or vice versa. It’s the great, invisible thread of energy that fuses and connects all Life and matter - as well as the past, present and future. It’s also sometimes termed the Universal Law of Communication - perhaps it could even be compared with the string theory that many scientists now suspect exists. Just as the cells in our body, our thoughts, feelings and everything else is continually fluctuating within us - all that exists in the world around us and beyond is also in a constant state of flux - constantly controlled by these three fundamental laws. In fact, more things are going back and forth between the two states of Myo and ho in a single moment than it would ever be possible to calculate or describe. And it doesn’t matter how big or small, famous or trivial anything or anyone may appear to be, everything that’s ever existed in the past, exists now or will exist in the future, exists only because of the workings of the Laws ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ - the basis of the four fundamental forces, and if they didn’t function, neither we nor anything else could go on existing. That’s because all forms of existence, including the seasons, day, night, birth, death and so on, are moving forward in an ongoing flow of continuation - rhythmically reverting back and forth between the two fundamental states of Myo and ho in absolute accordance with Renge - and by way of Kyo. Even stars are dying and being reborn under the workings of what the combination ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ represents. Nam, or Namu - which mean the same thing, are vibrational passwords or keys that allow us to reach deep into our life and fuse with or become one with ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’. On a more personal level, nothing ever happens by chance or coincidence, it’s the causes that we’ve made in our past, or are presently making, that determine how these laws function uniquely in each of our lives - as well as the environment from moment to moment. By facing east, in harmony with the direction that the Earth is spinning, and chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo for a minimum of, let’s say, ten minutes daily to start with, any of us can experience actual proof of its positive effects in our lives - even if it only makes us feel good on the inside, there will be a definite positive effect. That’s because we’re able to pierce through the thickest layers of our karma and activate our inherent Buddha Nature (our enlightened state). By so doing, we’re then able to bring forth the wisdom and good fortune that we need to challenge, overcome and change our adverse circumstances - turn them into positive ones - or manifest and gain even greater fulfilment in our daily lives from our accumulated good karma. This also allows us to bring forth the wisdom that can free us from the ignorance and stupidity that’s preventing us from accepting and being proud of the person that we indeed are - regardless of our race, colour, gender or sexuality. We’re also able to see and understand our circumstances and the environment far more clearly, as well as attract and connect with any needed external beneficial forces and situations. As I’ve already mentioned, everything is subject to the law of Cause and Effect - the ‘actual-proof-strength’ resulting from chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo always depends on our determination, sincerity and dedication. For example, the levels of difference could be compared to making a sound on a piano, creating a melody, producing a great song, and so on. Something else that’s very important to always respect and acknowledge is that the Law (or if you prefer God) is in everyone and everything. NB: There are frightening and disturbing sounds, and there are tranquil and relaxing sounds. It’s the emotional result of any noise or sound that can trigger off a mood or even instantly change one. When chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day, we are producing a sound vibration that’s the password to our true inner-self - this soon becomes apparent when you start reassessing your views on various things - such as your fears and desires etc. The best way to get the desired result when chanting is not to view things conventionally - rather than reaching out to an external source, we need to reach into our own lives and bring our needs and desires to fruition from within - including the good fortune and strength to achieve any help that we may need. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo also reaches out externally and draws us towards, or draws towards us, what we need to make us happy from our environment. For example, it helps us to be in the right place at the right time - to make better choices and decisions and so forth. We need to think of it as a seed within us that we’re watering and bringing sunshine to for it to grow, blossom and bring forth fruit or flowers. It’s also important to understand that everything we need in life, including the answer to every question and the potential to achieve every dream, already exists within us.
Evolution is an obvious reality on earth. That is not what this video is about though. It's about the very strange paradox of the fine-tuning of our universe.
We are the opposite of chaos. The more science learns, the more we find order and intelligent design. Perfection, balance, and laws we can predict precisely. As humans, we can comprehend concepts like beauty feel emotion, and the concept of time. Some of us can even do the math. We are all unique and wonderful made.
I was writing a lecture on my notebook and when you said "original number" in the part where you're talking about destiny, connection, etc., I was writing that exact same phrase wtf.
One big assumption with this "fine tuning" argument suggests that these fine-tuned elements have always been the same. What if they evolved and settled down into what we have today. Saying there were no pre-set ingredients. This makes it more likely that we have what we do now. I find the same question is asked when considering the question of life on Earth. We assume the life that started on Earth actually started on Earth. If we turn the clock back and see how the evolution of life occurred, you'll find that what is here on Earth, it shouldn't have happened. Because the evolution timeline predates Earth. The level of complexity that was, or can be observed on Earth at the beginning, says there is a timeline that is missing. If we go with what we observe, then we are left with results that say life began outside of Earth and just evolved exponentially because Earth itself is in a "goldilocks" distance from our sun... This opens the idea that life, when it began, didn't start on Earth but stared elsewhere.
This, of course, mucks up the theistic viewpoint of a Christian centred viewpoint. Evolution started outside of Earth goes entirely against the Christian view. Science also isn't much help. Because science just says what things do, good scientists say what things do, but in greater detail. Consciousness plays a vital role in evolution. Because what if Consciousness also evolved. And wasn't always a given in the current form it takes today. What if like the rest of the universe, it also evolved.
@@chrisjarmain Bullseye!! 🎯 Life is more ancient than Earth Life... There is a lot of water in the universe, by the way, science claims that the first elements are hidrogen and helium, this is the why we should be asking, where did this amout of hidrogen and helium gas arrived from? Some experiments had shown that water has memory and it is not that hard to see or to imagine that Life has been naturaly traveling between planets, it just pop up where the conditions are aceptable for it to evolve from geoquimical to bioquimical states. Earth gave place to millions of diferent life forms due to its caracteristics but the electromagnetic charge that water holds and carries are probably similar throughout the universe!!
In critical thinking, one can think outside of the box we have been put in. I agree that we may in fact have been somewhere else and brought here. What the reason is is up for debate.
@thereckoning5488 absolutely! This theory is not just held by me. But I agree, i am not saying we do know for what reasons that we got here. I'm suggesting as an open opinion that life itself got here from elsewhere. As it makes more sense with the data we have to go by.
@@peterhelpme How does that prove it's fine tuned? Do we have other universe to compare to see how it's fine tuned? If it was fine tuned wouldn't there be life nearly everywhere we look?
@@pauly362 Exactly. The universe is supposably fine tuned but as far as we know we are the only life forms. I don't call that fine tuned. I call that lucky as hell. Lol
Only at this moment in time is it perfect. When one evolves in an environment, it's always 'perfect'. Notably, this planet is usually not habitable. Look at the timeline. The premise of this video is in error; physics is no fake.
Its important to realize that throughout the entire existence (from birth to heat-death) of the universe, this window of 'fine tuning for life' will be imperceptibly minute.
@@mitch2kmitchell2k The point is that the Universe is not fine-tuned for life but rather is going through a phase where the evolution of life is possible. This phase is transient and incredibly brief on a cosmic time scale. The future universe will exist for trillions and trillions of years devoid of life, stars and ultimately even black holes as a cold, empty void of 'nothing'.
@MrBoybergs if that's the point then the point is dumb. First, you don't know any of that to even be true. And Two all of that could easily be necessary parts of the tuning in order to create this "imperceptibly minute" window, which by the way, is literally all you have or ever will know so it looks like you managed to perceive it after all.
You have proof of this? Or just believe everything scientist say? ... in reality, you have no idea what the universe Was or will be... your just guessing...
Agree: People just don't like using the word 'God' it sticks in their throat. I like to view our investigation of the Universe as a form of worship. Unfortunatly this is a minority view.
A multiverse requires faith only if you are scientifically and mathematically illiterate. There's evidence to support a multiverse. There's ZERO evidence for any gods.
A Universe and 8 trillion multiverses can be the same thing. I say the big thing is larger than our known universe. We may not be able to SEE the rest of our universe, but we all think it is out there. It is OK to call a group of stars a galaxy. It is OK to call a group of universes one multiverse. It is OK to call a cluster of Multiverses a Universe. By the way, Humans were not built first and then design something for us to live in. That would be called a house.
Thanks Fexl for this attractive video and topic, its a real pleasure to watch it! A few weeks ago I suddenly had this strange, different idea of our cosmos. I think we should call the Laniakea supercluster of galaxies a separate universe... there are about 10 million superclusters in the visible cosmos, which is simply too much of a good thing for a single universe, especially since the constants are not the same everywhere and the galaxy shape does not always match (e.g. elliptical, spiral and radio galaxies) and there were different epoches (and velocities) of evolution... So we can describe every supercluster as a closed area, since collisions and merging with other superclusters are impossible simply because of the enormous distances! That's why I can offer a new scaling here: Universe = supercluster of galaxies Multiverse = all superclusters together (about 10 million in the entire cosmos) Hyperverse (of course theoretical) = the largest definitive structure outside the multiverse (unreachable and invisible for our human dimension). The hyperverse separates itself from the multiverse via transmission zones, it has no beginning and no end, there is no time as we it know and it´s infinite. There are many different laws of physics and quantum mecanics and it is our guide for all material and spiritual events, the highest dimension of all universes and all other galactical processes and developments...
Mankind is naturally curious. We also want to know how everything works. However when something has been designed and created by let's say God, he would have to be considered infinitely and extremely more intelligent than we can fathom. It's like an ant trying to find out how to build a rocket. They simply don't have the capacity nor the intelligence to do so and neither do we have the ability to figure out what God has done. That's why he is God and we as well are his creation.
I think the answer y’all are looking for is God. God created everything how he did, and made rules that fit perfectly into what he did. As for humans being the only life, idk why we aren’t everywhere else. God wanted to share his love with us and that’s why he made us. It’s kinda hard to comprehend because, well, God is hard to comprehend. In 1 Corinthians 2:14 it talks about how natural man doesn’t accept God and can’t understand
This argument is like if any variables changed we wouldn't be here. Its the same with my conseption. If my parents waited or went at it 15 min sooner or later I might not be here. My particular sperm mightve been in the back of the pack or too soon and gone to the wrong spot on the egg. Of course changing any variable might have a different outcome
Exactly. There are 2 ways of looking at causality. The Theistic (strong anthropic) view posits a volitional Grand Architect that fabricated Reality in a specific manner with PURPOSE to produce our present result, which includes carbon-based neural-network intelligence. The Naturalist view posits our present reality as the CONSEQUENCE of internally consistent physical laws and constants. This internal consistency is due to the fact that these laws and constants are CONSEQUENT to parent fundament laws from which they originate. We are presently trying to merge the 4 fundamental forces (electromagnetism, strong nuclear, weak nuclear, and gravitation) into 1 parent fundamental force. We intuitivly believe that these 4 forces are derivations (consequence) of the parent physical law. If these laws were different, we would have a different present Reality, which may or may not have included intelligence, carbon-based or otherwise (eg: silicon-based AI). And if so, then so what? Carbon-based intelligence may not exist, but some other consequence would exist.
It never ceases to bother me that people refer to this design as "nature" rather than God. What I also find curious is how surprised we all are when we find that long accepted principles turn out to be wrong. We cannot fathom the mind of our creator with the grossly inadequate brains we have been given to work with during our short lived Earthly existence. We are making progress, there's no doubt about that, and perhaps one day we will figure it our, although I seriously doubt it, for reasons I've already mentioned. But don't fret, we learn the answers to everything that puzzles us when we are summoned home.
The physical laws we have are the ones that work. As in Evolution some life forms are better equipped for life. Evolution is the process of fine tuning.
How can we be sure that if some other configuration of numerous conditions had existed, some other form of existence would have evolved, and "they" would have been creating such a video that explains how precise the conditions and sequence of events must have been for them to have emerged into existence... (I don't think I've ever used the Perfect tense that much let alone in a single sentence/comment... ;- )
We've gotten further on this now right, idk how its difficult to understand still, we as a whole is God the rest is imagination and we need to become a heluva lot closer to what we think is God and that's the only way to save us, we realised it once, we can do it again

The universe wasn't made for us, the universe is not perfect nor is unperfect. The universe just is, we are just a by product of the universe's existence but.. does the universe really exist after you die? Does the universe really exist to those who were never conceived or to those who will never come to exist?
Romans 1:20 - "For his invisible qualities are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable."
Clearly we are all just NPCs in is some higher beings world builders simulation. Big bang? That was the simulation booting up. That’s the reason when things of the universe get a little spooky when we start looking real close. Obviously I’m being a bit sarcastic however when I’m playing the game Cities Skylines where you can follow an NPC from the time they are born through grade school into college than into the workplace and eventually retirement and than ultimately the graveyard I can’t help wonder what a game like this will be like in hundred years. Will the games AI advance to the point it’s self aware but unaware it’s in a game? Making much of its own decisions in a universe we create. A universe we model after our own merely because it supports life as we know it (because it has too). If and when that does happen there will be a lot of people questioning their own reality.
My number was 600,000. So I was definitely impressed with the explanation. I do believe that there is something going on that we just don't know yet. It's really hard to say because everything is so clearly fine-tuned for biology and physics. Mathematics and biology. It just seems like the language of the universe.
Fine tuned because the universe seeks low entropy, just like you (matter) sitting on a bean bag chair(space/time). Your butt is finely tuned to the seat
@@hairtoss7975 well you don't seem to understand any of your own logic. The fact that human beings exist on this planet and we can contemplate our own reality and the existence of the universe proves that there is some type of underlying essence of the universe that is fine-tuned.
My number pick was 712,282 yet I feel that there's uncountable number of failed variations of universes that have been created for this one we inhabit presently along with some other viable ones that constantly pop in and out of existence, no one habitable universe can be livable forever in the first place so they must blink out inevitable.

Has anyone thought that black holes swallow everything.. and maybe over some crazy time period there ends up being one blackhole that has eaten everything. Then big bang and repeat? Maybe
Maybe. But a black hole was once a sun, and sun can only gobble up so much. Maybe if there were a region of space that had a huge number of suns close together, and there was time enough.
@@jaguarnordestino Because we don't work with gravity physics yet, and the Aether hasn't even been found yet. To try to work with physics close to zero energy is hard. But once we figure that out we can create matter from nothing. I know how to simulate it in a computer anyway.
You gotta love the level of human arrogance in these videos. Man convinced itself that there's a big bang only there's not. This arrogance was proven false by the Webb telescope and I friggin love it 🎉😂😅
Not so much flawed it's just in transition to an advancement that integrates inconceivable matter with intuition and tech. Tesla was right. We are just governed to accommodate change without being broken by society. Maybe it has to be like that
It is the question asked by who only exists because of the odds among of all the planets that ddnt had any kind of life that would ask the same questions.
I like watching these philosophy videos. It’s not scientific to believe both that we can prove the initial conditions of this universe and that the initial conditions have moved beyond our Hubble sphere. It’s moved beyond our observation capabilities and will always remain a mystery until we can observe things without light bringing information to us.
You cannot say how well tuned our universe is when it’s the only universe you know. Well tuned in comparaison to what other? There’s no possible way to know.
Ill just drop this here as a thought. Unfortunately the vast majority of people have been geared towards a "higher power" since they were born ,and do not think for themselves. Listening to others and believing blindly. Life is for living ,whatever life that is is up to oneself, be it good or bad. I myself have traveled by foot thousands of miles and entering into life itself by just being , learning and experiencing it through the eyes of others. But, a god? I dont think that exists.
What if there are endless universes that had other alternative outcomes and ours coincidentally have the outcome to sustain life. With the theory of an infinite multiverse, everything and anything is possible
Creationism is implied by the word choice of 'finely tuned', but there's no real reason to believe this universe was ever 'tuned' versus the idea that, among countless universes (possibly infinite and over infinite time) with varied 'settings', one or more would happen to occur which are conducive to life. It may just be a feature of a multiverse that allows for every single possibility.
The Multi-verse is physicists god of the gaps. The funny thing is that the Universe is so fined tuned even with a huge number of potential universes they’re still not likely to have the constants tuned like are.
"Maybe that log cabin wasn't intentionally designed, but after an infinite amount of forest fires eventually the wood collapsed and landed just perfectly to create a beautiful home" do you realize how insane you sound
We can't survive anywhere off this planet that we know of ,we can't survive on half the planet we live on ,we can't survive underground or too high in the air ,that's hardly a tailor made universe for us
Imagining the universe with different physical laws doesn't mean there had to be an intelligent creator. By the way there is simple logic to explain low the universe couldn't have started from a point, large or small. We can see light from over twelve billion years ago. According to Big Bang Theory the Milky Way would have been formed from the early universe, so looking back we should be able see the early Milky Way. That is ridiculous.
The region of spacetime we are in is fine tuned for life presently. It will not be fine tuned at the time of the heat death of the universe. It would not be fine tuned if we are struck by an asteroid, etc. I'm not against the idea that all this was designed for us. But I think it is better to remain a little skeptical.
@@mitch2kmitchell2k Yes, it's fine. I just wonder what the purpose of all that space and all that matter is for. But I'm pointing out that we shouldn't claim too much, just as the scientist who are strict materialists shouldn't claim too much. We don't know the future, or even begin to understand what this is all about.
Why is the value for pi exactly equal to 3.14etc? If Pi was just off by a small amount, call it 3.13, then a circle wouldn't exist in our universe. Instead all circles would just spiral inwards and collapse down to the center point. If Pi was too high, say 3.15, then all circles would spiral outwards to infinity! We understand that Pi is equal to 3.14 not because of chance or intelligent design, but because of necessity. There's no need to invoke a multiverse and then proclaim that we live in this rare universe where Pi is equal to exactly 3.14etc. Pi is just simply the exact amount of times the diameter of a circle can fit around the circumference of that circle, necessitating that the number of Pi must be exactly equal to 3.14etc... The same necessitation should hold true for the fine tuning of the universal constants. Just as Pi is a constant by necessity. Think of the speed of light C, one of the most famous universal constants. Ok well it may be surprising then to learn that the speed C can actually accounted for by way of two other constants. The "electric permittivity" and the "magnetic permeability" of a vacuum is what causes the speed of an electromagnetic wave to be exactly equal to 299km/sec. So when we say, if light was just a little bit faster then atoms couldn't form, we are ignoring the fact that light could not possibly be any faster or slower. It is the exact speed we find because of necessity - because of the electric&magnetic resistance value of free space... Someone will now say, "What governs the electric&magnetic resistance value of free space?" Unfortunately, nobody don't knows yet, but I would hypothesize that there are governing factors which will one day be realized.... Another example - The mass energy density ratio is perfect for a flat universe because of necessity. There are 6 hydrogen atoms for every square meter of space in our universe. If there had been 7 hydrogen atoms per square meter, then the universe would have collapsed back onto itself almost immediately after the introduction of mass in the universe. If there had been only 5 hydrogen atoms per square meter, then the universe would have expanded into a big rip, so fast this big rip would be, such that stars and planets, even hydrogen itself could never have formed. Obviously the mass energy density ratio is perfect, because with the introduction of matter comes the exact appropriate amount of space to accommodate that matter. Assuming this assumption is correct, it leads to the mass energy density of the universe being perfectly flat, just by necessity. From this, we could go on to derive that since the universe is expanding, it could be a byproduct of new matter being introduced into our universe, simultaneously creating the expanding space of the universe which then maintains the flatness of mass energy density ratio just by necessity.
That is called a circular argument. LOL You can't argue that something is simply because it is. Or that it is out of necessity. The universe doesn't have to exist.
Everything my we observe might just be our brains own way of interpretating reality thereby making it look perfect to us. It might not be the true state of reality

Well then who made god? God can’t exist out of nothingness, he couldn’t have created himself if he even exist. Yeah there’s a chance that there is this “god” that made us and this universe. But even god needed to have a creator, and those creators needed to have creators and it goes on and goes on and this topic turns into a huge paradox.. but I’m convinced that if there is a god that created us, than someone created god. Just like how we created A.I. it just goes on and goes on.. for all we know, our whole universe as we know it is just an alien kids science experiment, and we’re living in this gigantic ant farm, apart of a much much bigger world that we can’t even fathom.
It is how life's opposing forces finds an equilibrium over billions of years (1 000 000 x 1 000 000 and then some). Even you would find a way if you had that much time. Look what a human does in 70 years. Its not rocket science; life adapts to coexist over eons. Its not luck, it just is the beautiful products of years of "fine tuning" until we reach the beauty thats now. It will all fall apart and start again. If the universe was more than chance, there would be sentient life everywhere. Maybe somewhere among the trillions and quadrillions of of galaxies there are multiple sentient lifeforms living in neighbouring planets. Who says its just been 13 billion years? Even scientists cannot confirm this. Its something we should just make the most of and stop searching for a God!
The universe simply is. Whether it is only one of an infinite number of universes that has everything right for life or whether it is the only one that exists with everything right for life is irrelevant. If it weren't right for life we wouldn't be here to ask the question in the first place. How is this hard to understand? It's like asking why is the universe a universe and not a petunia. It's a silly question. Now... if it's a simulation, that's a totally different story.
@@iamBlackGambitThat's exactly my point. If this universe weren't ideal for life (the vast majority of it actually isn't, by the way) then nobody would be here to wonder about it. Whether it is infinitely eternal or only a measly 14 billion years old as they claim (even with ample evidence to the contrary that they themselves will tell you all about) doesn't matter. It's like a painting asking why the canvas is just right for it to exist on. The question is pointless.
I’m not nearly as smart as a lot of people, especially scientists, physicists, astrophysicists, etc. But, after reading and watching everything and learning all I could in 40 years, I really cannot see all of us existing if not for a higher power. I just can’t believe that all of this just happened by “chance”. And whatever it was that put us here, will get rid of us whenever he/she/it wants us gone.
There is an old saying that everything in this universe did not happen by chance. And it does not arise from anything created, but arises from causes and factors.
Yes, it would appear there is a creator and that would explain all and everything wouldn't it ? As humans, we are used to things having beginnings and ending so the big questions of the universe are simply beyond our grasp and understanding. So while it would appear logical to suppose a creator, could it be illusory on our part ? I do think for those people who have had religious beginnings, their minds are set in that direction to think a creator is behind everything. To look at it from another angle .. would you not feel rather silly to worship and pray to something that is simply not there ? How about you - have you been brought up into religion and were you taught religion in school and forced to pray and sing hymns to the Lord in morning assembly ?
@@wynlewis5357 No, we never were religious, or Church going folk. But, I was told basically the Christian belief, as to why we’re here. And you know, all them questions we have as kids. I guess my family would say they’re Catholic. They never really pushed it on me. Best I can say, is that I do feel a strong, personal relationship with a higher power. Now is that all in my head, cause that’s what I was taught as a little kid?? Idk for sure, but it sure seems and feels real. And you’re right, the right answer is very likely something that we humans can’t even begin to comprehend, at this point. But one thing that I will say is science cannot will not be able to explain everything. Once you yourself has experienced the supernatural, like everything else, there’s no more denying it. In other words, once you witness something happen, and there’s absolutely no way to logically explain it, then you know that there are some kind of force out there that can’t be seen by the human eye. Don’t know what or if anything that has to do with this topic. All I can say is that for me, it makes anything a possibility.

Science does have theories like Eternal Universe and Multi Universe, etc. but there are no proofs - just like religion claiming God. I'm in my 70s now but just like you, I've had times in my life where I've felt elated/ one with the universe/ etc. Many people have, including atheists. Is it possible this "spiritual" experience you've had could be no other than your own subconscious ? We have knowledge it is far more powerfiul than our conscious mind. Or could it be something in the universe we do not understand that is NOT God ? If you ever go down the road of Christianity do be aware of the God of sheer horror that the bible portrays. The God of the bible condones rape, murder, slavery and has sent all manner of pestilences to mankind. God is an invisible mass murderer that killed billions of adults, children and innocent babies in a global flood and spared just 8 people. The bible is far from being a good book, it is a book of horror and eternal damnation that fills people full of guilt and fear. Does all that sound right to you ? Why don't you watch some of the Atheist podcasts on U Tube ? There's lots of them and you will get viewpoints from the theist and the atheist. You will be able to see how they go, then start forming your own judgments on various things. Some of those sights are : Matt Dillahunty/Alex O'Connor/TheThinkingAtheist/Cosmic Skeptist/Talk heathen. Good luck and do not be easily led.
I still can't get along with the idea that everything was created out of nothing. I makes no sense and it's literally impossible. There has to be some sort of creator. Though, from that idea one might ask....well then who created the creator? That's a good question, one that I doubt we'll ever be able to answer.

I think we are the ones tailor made to the universe...not the other way around
Tailor made by who?
@@MultiBrad777evolution
We are, but that doesn't explain the Goldilocks paradox. The universe is either tailor made, or, there are infinite other universes.

Its important to realize that throughout the entire existence (from birth to heat-death) of the universe, this window of 'fine tuning for life' will be imperceptibly minute.
I can't think of anything less important to "realize"
That actually makes it all make sense
@@mitch2kmitchell2k The point is that the Universe is not fine-tuned for life but rather is going through a phase where the evolution of life is possible. @MrBoybergs if that's the point then the point is dumb. First, you don't know any of that to even be true.

@@Metallic-Sunfaith is simply playing make believe
That's why I can offer a new scaling here:
Universe = supercluster of galaxies
Multiverse = all superclusters together (about 10 million in the entire cosmos)
Hyperverse (of course theoretical) = the largest definitive structure outside the multiverse (unreachable and invisible for our human dimension).
Y’all spend years searching for the answers but they are right in front of you
The universe had to be "perfect" or else we won't be here asking how this apparent perfection came about.
No this is not intelligent design but a probability of nature
(I don't think I've ever used the Perfect tense that much let alone in a single sentence/comment... ;- )

It is the question asked by who only exists because of the odds among of all the planets that ddnt had any kind of life that would ask the same questions.
Physics and math are merely descriptions of what already exist and guess work of what could exist based off what we have already formulated

Similar to how there’s no real reason to believe there’s a multiverse
The Multi-verse is physicists god of the gaps. The funny thing is that the Universe is so fined tuned even with a huge number of potential universes they’re still not likely to have the constants tuned like are.

The laws of physics had to exist before that.
@@asphalthedgehog6580not true.
That is ridiculous.
to be finely tuned=A biological man can never be a woman, knowing you’re a ladyboy means you’re finely tuned to the sssweeeet sound of JC 😅
The universe is so fine tuned for life we can't find any, apart from on our tiny planet.
Is our planet not enough for you?

One time, in a city; a building; a room; in a corner, under an old clock; I found a dust-bunny. Did I think to myself, that this city was fine tuned for that dust-bunny? 🤔

The universe is energy and decay and chaos
The universe simply is. Whether it is only one of an infinite number of universes that has everything right for life or whether it is the only one that exists with everything right for life is irrelevant. If it weren't right for life we wouldn't be here to ask the question in the first place. How is this hard to understand? It's like asking why is the universe a universe and not a petunia. It's a silly question. Now... if it's a simulation, that's a totally different story.

I’m collector you failed me yet
I’m not nearly as smart as a lot of people, especially scientists, physicists, astrophysicists, etc. But, after reading and watching everything and learning all I could in 40 years, I really cannot see all of us existing if not for a higher power. I just can’t believe that all of this just happened by “chance”. And whatever it was that put us here, will get rid of us whenever he/she/it wants us gone.
🤡

I still can't get along with the idea that everything was created out of nothing. I makes no sense and it's literally impossible. There has to be some sort of creator.
