Hi Elena. We met almost ten years ago at a gathering in Sedona. In fact, I'm the one you're in dialogue with on your oldest video ("I want to disappear!" lol... might have to post a follow-up comment on that one ;-). I've watched a few of your recent videos with great appreciation for your _natural_ joy and openness. I hadn't been aware until the present video that you'd written a book. I generally don't read "spiritual" stuff anymore, but I was curious so I got the Kindle version of *Buddha on a Bull* and just read and thoroughly enjoyed it! Your humor, intelligence, and passion for truth are all palpable on every page. Maybe most of all, as a fan of conciseness and brevity in my own written and spoken expressions, I really value that you always get right to the point and include only what's essential to the topic at hand. Kudos. Thanks for mentioning the book here. We have some commonalities in our stories. Prior to reading it, I recalled our brief discussion in Sedona about the Gurdjieff Work, which I'd also been involved with for a number of years. What was interesting to learn in your book was that Doug Spitz was your teacher. I can't say I "knew" him as substantively as you did, but he and Andre (whose last name I don't know, but he was an older, French (?) movements teacher who looked like Einstein) used to come to Houston sometimes during my early 1990s involvement with the Foundation there, so I did meet and interact with him a few times. My own fiery and beloved Gurdjieff teacher died in 2016, I discovered only a few years after the fact. We had similar initial awakening experiences around "awareness," though maybe with differing impacts (the figure-ground reversal thing you described is still present 11 years later, though the distinction between figure and ground, as with inner and outer, has gradually softened to the point of there not really being a distinction anymore: it's all presence, all the time). The deeper and more definitively search-ending realization you had with Unison a bit later was more dramatic than in my case. While there was also at least one subsequent deep insight here too, mine has been a more gradual transition, especially in the past three-plus years as the deeper fixations have either eased or disappeared (not that there aren't still some! lol). I love your attunement to nature, as expressed in this video. I lived in a van for several years between 2013 and 2018, travelling around the country and spending time both in natural and manmade ("unnatural"?) settings. The natural environs can definitely be powerful and grounding. But then, I find that being awake tends to make even those erstwhile "unnatural" settings feel just as vital and authentic and the "natural" ones. It's all presence, all the time.
