There's something poetic about the fact that the only place he was preaching this was on a Train where everyone was locked in and forced to listen to him.
No matter if you’re religious or not, there’s no excuse for violating somebody’s personal space like that. It’s intrusive and makes people shrink in that space. This is how the apostles preached back In the day. The bible says to preach and spread the gospel at all times because it is the message of life. So no Jesus would not cringe. @Chris Chambers wow! I have a lack of love for people because I have the decency to not disturb them? Then what does this guy have? You are not going to threaten me with your heaven/hell bullshit because I don't believe in it. I don't believe your abhorrent god exists. And if there was proof it did, I still wouldn't worship it because it is terrible. Skrew my soul, how about you love us here and now, that we all know is real. And shut the fuck up on this train!
@Chris Chambers I'll answer this in order. 1) Yes. I do not owe you or anybody else my time. Get over it. Also, he said 3 min and then rambled and argued for 6 min AND had an "innocence bystander" *PLANTED* in the crowd to continue whenever he finally shut up. Not cool. 2) The word of your god is abhorrent. Have you read your bible? That is a terrible being. He isn't "saving" anybody but condemning them to a life of fear in an abusive relationship with this "god" 3) Idk. Maybe I had a migraine that day and was just trying to make it home? Maybe I had a bad day at work? Maybe I had a patient die? You chose? What this man is doing is illegal and if on no other biases than than, I will mock him and be angry. 4) jesus was just that. A man. Your book was flawed and he was flawed. Only you can give yourself righteousness. Stop living for the afterlife and start making changes today. Not out of fear of judgment, but out of the want to better society for the sake of society. 5) Uhh, no. He's not. But seeing and I'm not a fan of thinking about my parents having sex, I'm not going to go into this one.
@Chris Chambers uhh, that's a bit of an extrapolation, don't you think? I don't hate jesus. Didn't know the guy and don't know what was true of him. Probably just a normal guy of the time. If he was speaking to *just* me and I *asked or agreed* to be spoken to? Nah. That wouldn't bother me. But seeing as he had me in a situation where I could not leave and was forced to listen to him. Again, that is illegal and inconsiderate. That is my problem with it. "I have read my bible once or twice and I'll tell you there is plenty of proof it's a supernatural work" this is the same as saying "I read Harry Potter so I know magic is real" the bible is not proof that it itself is supernatural. Especially since there are so many flaws in it. ffrf.org/legacy/books/lfif/?t=contra I dont blame god for anything... since I don't believe it exists! 😆 but, more seriously, I dont blame you. I just ask that you try to open your mind and learn more. Read over you bible more carefully. Is this what you would want a human to do to you? Then why do you worship a god who does it? Nobody would let someone into their home to save them from what that person will do to them if they don't let them it. That would be considered asinine. Funny. Your god is my only hope of salvation? But if I spoke to a Muslim allah would be my only hope of salvation, a JW would say jehovah is my only hope of salvation, etc. What makes you so sure you picked correctly? Especially seeing as a lot of people study the same book as you but think you are going to hell... don't be so quick to blaspheme the people who are here for a god that has done nothing.
@Rosalba hamer Our trains actually have designated "quiet carriages" (usually the middle four, or the middle two on a four-car set), but I don't know if this was filmed on one of those.
@Fearless in Jesus Christ Firstly, I hate how he shares my name, and I think he was being very obnoxious. Secondly, you're really sweating bullets by saying that I will go to hell for having a laugh and second-hand embarrassment. You go to hate on this man and threaten people with Hell for privately using their free will, but then you resume your Christian duty of hoping people will take stock in your god. There's no hate like Christian love™️, is there...
@Fearless in Jesus Christ I do have a conscience, but _the one I actually know of_ is inside my cranium. And since when has science proven that people have souls? It's such a vague concept and term that no wonder we haven't gotten anywhere with proving the existence of souls. I'm not saying people can't have a soul, but I prefer to think of it as a secular metaphor. I guess I do laugh at the things I don't know or understand, because I don't even have a definition of your spiritual concepts. Also, giving me a random quote doesn't help. And a paragraph? Overkill. And why can't more people use something like the NIV Bible, with clearer language and less double-speak? Such language is better suited to classical works and cooler folk religion texts anyway. I was Christian too, until ~1.5 years ago (shortly before or after turning 15). I tried to keep my faith, but at some point I decided that the Church doesn't need a wavering soul like me in their ranks. And that was my first reason leaving the Church. Nothing to do with the nonexistence of God until later that year.

Shaming people for enjoying simple joys of live such as drinking beer with their friends after watching a cinema movie or a football game, finding time to that once a week in their busy working schedules. Then comes in the 'Mr Hollier than thou' saying that the fact there are drinking beer is the evidence of last days, 'fall of civilisation', calls them 'sinful souls' who need to 'repent for their ways' or burn in eternal hell etc while shittalking their neighbourhoods (also doing this right after a football game where there is lots of litter laying around, making a false narrative that this is how those places look like all year around) and then when people are rightfully confronting him being offended he basically compared them and their communities to rats in the sewer, he's backing off and saying that he's not trying to instigate anything...What a miserable prick or as lads in the UK would say, absolute wanker.

How is it obviously? He could have just gone on a few mission trips. All his finances could be focused on the gospel and spreading it. Just because he is white doesn't mean he is privileged either.
Know that Jesus himself spoke about how we shouldn't follow ordanices and rules that are man-made. Jesus was called out just because he didn't wash his hands. (KJV) Mark 7 1 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem. 2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault. 3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders. 4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables. 5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands? 6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. 9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. There are other things Jesus and others were told because they weren't obeying their man-made doctrines. Like Jeuss disciples being called out because they were plucking ears of corn on the sabbath and a man Jesus healed that carried his bed on a sabbath day. Jesus Christ in Mark 2:27-28 state that the sabbath was made for man, but not man for sabbath and he says that he is the Lord of the sabbath. Man made doctrines are religion. True religion according to the Bible is doing what God says and this: James 1:26-27 NIV Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. Religion cannot save you, nor the sacrifce of animals or offerings nor anything else but only Jesus Christ, thw son of God who died for our sins can. He didn't convert anyone at gunpoint, he simply preached the truth in a crisis of immorality. Jesus Christ, John the Baptist and most of the prophets would have done the same thing, because it is the loving thing to do. Many young people in the west never heard the Gospel in its essence nowadays (which is insane), not even at catholic education, and random preachings like these may be the first ever true seed that gets planted in them. We have the freedom to preach, just like that old man had the freedom to try shut him up, that's fine, nothing out of bounds happened here from both parties. What's important is that someone heard the truth perhaps for the first time, so the Holy Spirit (by which the preacher was lead btw) can cultivate it to that time and place of faith you talk about.

@@thehonesttruth415 The preacher asked for 3 minutes, but NO ONE GAVE HIM THE TIME. Speaking when you are not asked to is not respecting the opinions and the personal space of anyone on the train. There is no hint of respect in that action. Buskers are singing. Singing is melodious and entertaining. That's not an opinion. The preacher is forcing their beliefs on us. They are loud and obnoxious and disturb those who did not ask for their speech. And you did not understand my analogy of the politicians. They are the ones who will end up representing us in the government. The government has the power to change laws and to reform the way we live our lives. The Christian Community does not. Apart from giving religion and a faith for many, the Christian Communinty does not affect the lives of anyone else. The government does. It's a demographical influence, not a universal influence. Plus, whilst you may refrain from stepping in and intervening if someone is speaking an opinion that you don't take interest in, others still have the right to stop it. What was shown in the video is not a discussion or a small provision of opinion. It was a forcing of actions and belief - continually speaking when others did not request or approve of their time, repeating "you must repent" to everyone on the train. A respectful person would let him speak, sure. But not everyone has to move aside and let you straddle your own wide path just because you would like to. There are people there who are engaged in their own activities and would not like to be disturbed. In the first half, there was a woman on the phone, trying to cover her mouth just to be able to speak normally. The man who intervened was disrupted while reading his book. If not everyone approves for the preacher's time, he is not welcome to affect the personal space and the boundaries of every single person in the carriage. That's not respect.
Even by the comments here people still cannot stand the truth when it is being told to them. This preacher will be given his true reward in the next life when the rest of us have to account for ourselves.

He isn't "saving" anybody but condemning them to a life of fear in an abusive relationship with this "god"
3) Idk.
Especially since there are so many flaws in it. ffrf.org/legacy/books/lfif/?t=contra
I dont blame god for anything... since I don't believe it exists!

This does more to turn people off any belief in Jesus than it does to draw them in. It's actually hilarious that he can't see this.
@Chris Chambers its pretty rude to force people to listen to your beliefs in a tight enclosed place.

20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Then he acts shocked and victimised when no one wants to spend their commute on public transport being lectured by a fanatic who cares more about forcing his absurd beliefs on people than he does about respecting his fellow man. He claims he’s doing it because he loves them all, but if that were true he’d respect their wishes and shut his idiotic mouth. The raging hypocrisy and utter lack of self-awareness is borderline painful to behold. Anyone who acts this way needs to take a serious look at themselves and realise how ridiculous of a human being they are. And that’s not even mentioning how stupid the beliefs he’s pushing are. That’s a whole ‘nother kettle of fish that I don’t even want to get in to. But suffice to say, he’s a backwards thinking imbecile who has no place in our modern world and should feel thoroughly ashamed of himself for claiming to be acting out of love while simultaneously being so amazingly heartless.

It's not about his message, he just chose the wrong time and place, and probably the wrong audience as well. Whatever your beliefs are they should be kept in your head unless you're in a space where stuff like that should be shared, like a church or on some occasions, religious shops.
It even takes tact to discuss in those places, too. I wouldn't go singing the praises of Hircine in the halls of a Catholic cathedral and people shouldn't go into Wiccan stores and tell everyone that magic is bad and the tarot cards will eat their souls. If someone asks or goes into your place of worship and religious resources then feel free to start a discussion but otherwise preaching is really intrusive and scummy.

1 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.

Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. Religion cannot save you, nor the sacrifce of animals or offerings nor anything else but only Jesus Christ, thw son of God who died for our sins can.

No, call it what it is: An arrogant asshat yelling about his imaginary-yet-judgmental friend at innocent bystanders trying to have a quiet commute.
Yelling at people that are just trying to get to work is the worst possible way to try to reach them with your message. If you feels this passionately about it, open a church and invite people in. Don't try force it on people that don't want to hear it. You're never going to reach anyone this way.
That’s not how that works. People go to church when they want to go to church. Just because someone doesn’t want to know that their house is burning down with them in it doesn’t mean you are not allowed to say so
Unfortunately it shows a lack of maturity and listening to God! This type of evangelism is unbiblical. Somewhere around 300 years ago some idiot decided to do this and now a bunch of people think this is how you evangelize.

There’s a time and a place to find faith. You cannot and should not force your belief on others. It’s at the individuals discretion, not at the behest or whim of others. The guy with the book nailed it
He didn't convert anyone at gunpoint, he simply preached the truth in a crisis of immorality. Jesus Christ, John the Baptist and most of the prophets would have done the same thing, because it is the loving thing to do. Many young people in the west never heard the Gospel in its essence
nowadays (which is insane), not even at catholic education, and random preachings like these may be the first ever true seed that gets planted in them.
Yep, and that place most certainly isn't on Sydney Trains.

Do you go around public places randomly speaking your opinion if no one asked to hear it? No. Because that's a stupid thing to do.
Campaigning for politicians is so completely different to this situation. Politicians are the ones who will end up representing us, unlike a preacher who's only there to spread his faiths to no one who asked for it.
@@sktzn6829 the preacher asked for 3 mins to speak, that shows he respect the people. you asked "Do you go around public places randomly speaking your opinion if no one asked to hear it?"

people push their opinion always in a public space.
a respectful person would let the speak and be done especially when he resquested 3 mins. if he was getting over the time, that can be a good time to speak since he requested only 3 mins, although that doesnt justify trying to shut him down.
basically, this is christophobia you have and the man on the train has.
@@thehonesttruth415 The preacher asked for 3 minutes, but NO ONE GAVE HIM THE TIME. Speaking when you are not asked to is not respecting the opinions and the personal space of anyone on the train. The focus is that even after being told to stop, because he is disturbing those who did not approve of his disruption, he forcefully continues. That is rude and interrupting behaviour.
This is kind of harassment and unfortunately we don't have a law to deal with these preachers.

2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
5 For every man shall bear his own burden.
6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
11 Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.
12 As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for the cross of Christ.
13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
