- In this Physics video in Hindi we explained the construction and working principle of venturi meter for class 11. We also derived the required formula. Venturi meter is used to measure the flow speed of an incompressible fluid. It consists of a pipe with varying cross section and a u-tube manometer attached to it. When the fluid passes through the narrow section its speed increases and the pressure diffence is measured by the manometer.

We know potential energy is mgh, so it depends on height and when we find velocity of fluid through venturi meter, the height remains same it does not changes (that is clearly visible) so at any point potential energy remains same while kinetic energy changes due to change in velocities at every point

And potentially energy's formula is
U=mgh
If you have two points in a liquid at different heights h1 and h2 then pressure difference between them is pgh. Where p= density of fluid and h=h2-h1.
