As a Canadian, I'd never heard of Slim Dusty until I began listening to the French Family Band about a year ago. Stuie French speaks often of the influence Slim had on him. So, I started tuning into Slim's videos and what a treat! A truly unique story-telling country musician. I can understand now why Stuie is so influenced by Slim. By the way, if you haven't viewed the French Family Band on RUclips or Facebook, give them a listen. You won't be disappointed! They are amazingly talented and carry on the Slim Dusty tradition!
Slim's touring band was -for me, as myself lead guitar player during 65 years behind undred country style singers (in France, Swiss, Germany, Italy) one amazing great (solid, helpfull) band. I like the simplicity of the songs (same as Lonnie Donegan, for exemple). Thank's RUclips, I discover each day new recordings (live or from LP's). Best wishes to the Autralian Slim Dusty friends.
