Linda, as much as I loved your previous home, and I really loved it - I think the Cottage on the Hill fits you and Hubs so well now. I can't imagine you anywhere else. Leah, you have such a big heart. Also, I love the fact you feel comfortable to ask the questions for beginners for yourself and anyone else that is new to gardening. Stewart, your laugh is warm and so heartfelt. The 3 of you work so well together. ❤
Hi do you use mulch in your garden?
❤ appreciate you Linda, Stuart and Leah 🦋
I think I would just love to be your neighbor. When you were so excited about the pumpkins, my husband was walking by and said she sounds just like you.
Thank you all for bearing the heat while filming this video. Maybe next super hot day, you could educate us on your house plants. How do you propogate houseplants compared to outside plants? 😊😊😊
Linda, I’m so glad that the plants and the pot brought you joy. I was so sorry to see how much the plants had wilted from being in the car for a couple of errands. I do hope they perk up again in a day or two. Thank you so much for all the inspiration you share with all of us and for your very kind words. It’s truly an honor. Stay cool. ❤Carolina
The window box is looking just lovely in all of that beat!
*heat
So true we are not our thoughts we are the thinker 🧡 beautiful garden
What a fun day in the garden. Your dress is so cute
It's a lovely garden!
Life with flowers will enrich your heart😊
My neighbors live 1/4 mile away from me ! I like it because I can yell out the door for my husband and no one cares. When I was single and dating the neighbor lady would come out every time I walked out side to ask questions about my boyfriends She was married with three kids. That annoyed me to no end .... I love being out alone ..... doing my own thing.
I think Lea has a new career, as a hair dresser, love your hair
Dear Linda, be prepared to a rainy and cold northern Europe. One moment there is sun, next minute extreme rain. Have a nice trip and bring your rainboots.
Thank you, I will
I found this martial 2:45 interesting Love you!
I came across this article in the National Geographic. I think many gardeners wonder about these bugs in their garden ...
This is called the Oniscidae. You may find them under a brick or a damp object. You may have felt disgusted and wondered why they exist in nature.
Well, let me tell you, the oniscdae, better known as cochineal, is a subgroup of isopod crustaceans whose function is to remove harmful heavy metals from the earth such as mercury, cadmium and lead. They contribute to the cleansing of soil and groundwter to reaffirm the wisdom of nature. Do not damage them or spray pesticides!
Great info
I'm having a pleasant Monday morning, thank you for your collar up!
One of my dad's favorite quotes was, believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see."
My sedum autumn joy is blooming as well. Zone 8a NC. Thanks for sharing your garden in this heat. Early morning is our friend right now. Gardening from 6-9.
Thank you for sharing your garden. Have a great holiday in "bonny" Scotland 🏴. Oh look out for a "Pink or Rose Moon" in the next few nights. Love from Rosie O 🏴
OMG ! Linda you are JUST like me with the view about urban living and being able to shout for help and being able just chat up haphazardly ❤.
That is exactly how my husband and I enjoy living .
I grew up in a house where we sat on the rail of our porch and our neighbor on theirs and we talked accross the driveway ❤❤.
Or sometimes while we each hung our laundry on the line ( which I still do 😍).
I have been gone all last week and have been catching up with you today. I love your dress. I enjoy all of your videos. You are always bubbly even if you don’t feel bubbly. Enjoy all your tips and advice. Love your home. Now then, you all go inside and enjoy cooling off. Love you. Thank you for all the joy you and Stewart and Lea bring to us. (Hope I spelled their names correctly). God bless you all. Linda from Georgia, zone 7.
I just discovered a pumpkin vine growing in a narrow strip between my front porch and driveway. I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't been watching your channel.
It was 39 this morning here in Central Oregon. The high was 63. I'm not complaining 😊
Leah is the sweetest! We need more Leahs and more Stewart giggles! Great video!🇨🇦🌸🇨🇦
Stewart,I never before appreciated your feelings about mosquitoes as living in England never experienced them.after my holidays to Croatia WOW I too hate them.
Love your shirt Linda! I’m a big navy and white girl,my favourite colours! My backyard is all those colours, chairs, pillows and umbrellas beside our pool. I’m into topiary’s now because of you. Love everything you do.🇨🇦❤️
@@cherylthepearl827Ok,it’s a dress! 🤦♀️
What a fun video filled with lots of laughs, sweet moments and helpful information!💚 Hoops...😂😂😂 Thanks, Linda and team!
Always love your outfit and your beautiful garden.
All 3 of you are very pleasant to spend time with
Linda I had to jump on here and tell you I made my first TOPIARY and wow is this addictive! I went to the garden center like you said and found a $19 boxwood that was tall with a good central leader. It was the ugliest looking plant there and I brought it home and started clipping alway and OMG it’s so cute and I had so much fun! So impressed with myself! LOL! Just had to share! Thanks Linda for what you do! Love your channel! You open my life to new things and that makes a difference in my happiness! ❤❤❤ YOU!
Cute top! And your cut is nice too..good job Leah. I wish you could be here for my garden tour on June 25. You'd have a blast! The windowbox is amazing. We are having an excessive heat warning over the next 4 days. Whew!
Wish I could too!
I only met a couple of neighbors during our 30 years in Houston, but here I have met many more and made good friends with our neighbors! I so agree with you about houses built close!
I have 2 white wicker chairs that are past their prime - so i made them a focal point in one of my flower beds (repurposing items is great). They brighten up the large flower bed - I think. :) Linda - I love your channel.
Intersting to hear💖💖💖💖💖💖
Linda I think the chest you fell in love with at the salvage shop would look awesome where you metal table is in the living room. It would give you more storage. Always a plus!
Another great and informative video! But beware the wild mustard. It is a noxious weed here in Southern California and spreads like a wildfire. It is literally everywhere.
I seriously love hearing Stewart laughing along with Linda's quips and humor. Linda, your hair & shirt dress are fab! We are starting to finally get hotter now where I am. Not like your weather but enough that I'm getting some blooming & growing. Happy Father's Day!🥰
Great Video - Linda - Thank You for sharing
I love the two chairs! Seating can be many in a garden that is just foca points! Love that! ❤️
🩷Linda your home now is more attractive and gorgeous than your other home. My humble opinion.Something about this home it feels like a real home, inviting , a serenity will be the right word to describe it. Absolutely stunning the inside and both of the gardens 🌿💚💚
Very informative video. I enjoyed watching it, and I also enjoyed listening to Leah's questions. I'm excited for her, being a new gardener. She's going to learn so very much from you.
Hi, Linda. Thank you for your video. Best wishes. ❤
We moved out to a more rural area but still have some neighbors who are close enough that we hear them and see them (about 200-300 feet). We’ve tried really hard to be good neighbors to them but when the husband came over last year and cut down a tree on our property (without asking) because he didn’t like the way it looked from his view, I decided I was done being their “good neighbor”. We leave them alone! Now he’s draining his mini swimming pool into our driveway ditch! Unbelievable ! Glad you have good, considerate neighbors.
Another great episode! Thank you!
Your garden is looking AMAZING!! What type of white hydrangeas are next to your bird bath. I love hydrangeas and I’m looking for a hydrangea that can tolerate the high heat in San Jose California.
Wow! That pumpkin plant is growing so fast! Everything is beautiful as always❤
Linda you are a.real trooper.
We keep getting a g!impose of your multistoned ring is it new?
I'm wondering if it's a message ring
Enjoy Scotland x
I grew my first pumpkins last year and was so excited and happy only to be disappointed when the squirrels chewed them up!
I love that quote!!! Thank you!!!❤
Michigan is doing the same heat...
Love it 🔥...but.....
Needing to water more..such is life❤
Hi! Note to Japanese beetles how to get rid of them. I was told the natural way is put milky spore in the grass in the spring to kill the grubs that turn into Japanese beetles. 2 years with the milky spore product in the grass.😊
Thank you for explaining "letting it go to seed" im a beginner to in my new home and I wasn't sure exactly what that meant. I had an idea but was not certain.
I found a great treatment for Japanese beetles this year that seems to be working so far. Fertilome tree and shrub drench. You add it to water and pour it around the bottom of your plant. Only use it once a year. I had those things decimate the leaves on several shrubs last year and so far I haven't seen any. I also put it around my Mom's rose bush and so far no beetles and no aphids! A little pricey but worth it. I got it on Amazon.
I hope your trip to Scotland is wonderful!
Hello everybody
Very interesting vlog. I believe that your yellow flowered plant is canola. Which they make cooking oil out of❤
I think gardening would be a very useful career for Leir too, like mother like daughter 👍👍
As for gifting the two chairs to your neighbor... I am sure you have a odd pot in your backyard , that you could plant a shrub in and place it between the two chairs. It would be a piece of cake to water it when watering your own yard. Win..win! She gets some interest and you get a beautiful view from Lemon Lane . My agapanthus here in California is just blooming right now. Love the fever few tip as I have some and want more. So I will be looking for the seeds now. The thing I never understand is blooms on old wood or blooms on new wood. can you explain that.
Hi from Annie, you look lovely in that shirt dress oh those stripes look so good on you. the navy and white is nautical and very summery. The garden is nice lots of flowers, that sign Kayla made for you is so cute will look nice wherever you place it.
Great shirt dress on you
🤣🤣🤣 OMG 😂 I THINK I'M LETTING MY SELF GO TO SEED😂 I LOVE EXPRESSION
That’s hot ! We are having 88 with high humidity today! Minneapolis suburb. You window box is absolutely gorgeous!
Heatwave here in Ohio. Upper 90s No rain forecasted. Ugh!
92 today here. Not too hot to garden in the shade!
That is definitely Sedum Autumn Joy, I received my plant many years ago from my MIL, that has since pasted. I'm in Ft Worth Texas, and mine is also blooming.😊
I'm first for the first time !
Thank you for answering the question I didn’t ask: when will my larkspur seeds be ready to harvest? Now I will wait for them to turn black. Good to know!
7:37 I meant no disrespect. I just think this variety of rose is going to be imposing in the future. ❤
Oh I didn’t take it that way. I knew what you meant, dear.
I believe mustard is very invasive.
Did I hear you correctly? Did you say you’re writing another book? Thank you for enduring the heat❤
Linda, could you do a video on plants and shrubs that do well where there’s not much of a spring and you go from really cold to really hot? We have NO spring anymore…🤷🏼♀️😩
Linda! I love your dress! So crisp and cool looking in the heat. Will you share the brand?
😂Preferably NOT in a snarky way! People 😳Be Nice!!! Enjoy Scotland! We go to the highlands every September for family reunion and it’s like driving into heaven!
sluggo plus takes care of rolly pollies, along with earwigs slugs
and snails
Stewart ...johnson and johnson, Creamy Baby Oil (light green in color ) keeps the mosquitos away , honestly ! I am allergic to them and it actually really works ! (And it smells good )
Cheers 🍹
Linda, some coolish morning you might sprinkle some zinnia seeds in the empty areas. Here in East Tennessee, I have had the best luck planting zinnias in July. They 31:01 seem to germinate and shoot up before any predators notice them.
Linda, I love your dress! Please share where you bought it.

@@LindaVateroops! I ask that question too early, but I really liked it and want one.lol
I feel like we are so concerned with privacy we are loosing our neighborhood ness. Yes I know that’s not a word but it’s how I feel. I lived in a wonderful historic neighborhood in Lt Rock. I live in the country now and I love it too. But I will always miss my wonderful neighbors.
Panty hose to cover each little pumpkin.
Linda- I need your beautiful dress! Do you have a link to share?
Please provide Carina’s website. Does she sell her pots? I love them!
I just heard you say that you just have to deal with Japanese beetles. I beg to differ! I’ve used milky spore for years and have very few problems with Japanese beetles. It’s puts a bacteria in ground that kills the larva.
Good info👌
But what does milky spores also destroy in the soil ? What does it do to earth worms ?
@@Holly_at_gypsyhollergardens milky spore does not kill earthworms.
@@sandratodd1438 good to know , thank you !
I saw agapanthas at lowes and they were FOURTY FIVE DOLLARS each
Curious. Is that your mailbox (black) on brick facade of your home at corner of the facade?or do you have one near your front door? Old homes always have little surprises.
I wonder if the cat enjoys those chairs as well😻??
I think so!
What’s the arrangement with the neighbor regarding the tree video? It’s on their property but you had it trimmed??
You clearly don’t watch the videos in full or you would’ve known the answer to your question.
@@Meganrenee333 thank you for your helpful comment.
Where's the link for Garden Gate magazine?
Great video full of interesting and fun info. I love how Lea cut your hair, she is a lady with many talents.
If pumpkin hang out in the tutor, isn't too heavy?
The home is said to be an Englishman castle in the UK. I am a socially active person outside the home but live on a housing estate and have adjacent neighbors. . Enjoy the garden siace but, simply no privacy at all unfortunately.
I know you have a zillion hats ... why are you not wearing one in that intense sun?

What wonderful neighbours you have. It seems to me that we have lost neighbourly connections where I live. Times have changed.
Same here. This is the first neighborhood that has not been very friendly & some you don’t want to get to know. Lol
Love, love, love your channel. Question. How can I get rid of sugar ants inside my potted plants
The layers in your hair makes it lay down really well. Good job, Lea. Sorry I’m not sure of the spelling.

I read that the Japanese beetles are out of the ground for only 40 days. Do a countdown and it will go fast.
