It's good, but it's nowhere near to beating Grian in episode 1 when he figured out Scar was his soulbound partner but Scar was trying to get his allay back.

the ever-so-slightly awkward tone between these two when they have a conversation will always make me laugh
tbh it hits me like a metal mallet where my brain stores social interactions and how to act super hard.

tbf he was peaceful in Third Life. I don't think he managed to even get any kills in that one. But he made up for it in Last Lift lol
@@chemicalchameleon3469 He was technically pretty peaceful in Last Life - he set a lot of traps, but he never actually managed to kill anyone with most of them.
@@metalnut92 lmao, ye he got most kills but it was hilarious how many of his traps failed, two of them even cost him a life.
He's peaceful because he had already killed himself and Ethos and built the boat as a gift to hopefully make up for them being the second pair to go yellow, so he's not taking any risk of going red to make Ethos feel safer :))
Such a cool, unique dynamic having 2 player's lives tied together.

I think they should have bumped up to four or five lives this series though, cause if one person gets eliminated their soulmate does too, means the season ends twice as quickly

It's no mid-century modern house, but I will say that the "Relation-Ship" is a really sick build and I think it works well both aesthetically and stategically. 😉❤️
Put a sneaky dispenser with a fireball in it in one of the windows on the side of the ship facing Grian’s base. That way you have a way to instantly retaliating if Grian or Scar wrongs you by burning down their massive WOODEN castle-cake.

@@yaemikoshandler it depends on when they schedule it. His own series he can shuffle and do whenever he wants if it gets too much. I think he would enjoy Hermitcraft and would definitely do well in that group.

The editing this episode was so fun! And the Relation Ship came out great as well!
I have to admit I am really enjoying the dynamic of having two players connected together and having their fates intertwined. It not only makes the series more social but as it is random (I think) it means there are a few pairings that we don't often see. In the series I have seen there tend to be little interactions between everyone but the bulk of the social aspect is with people they know better/are friends with etc. For example Joel tends to do a lot of interacting with Lizzie and Oli because they know/live near each other irl (very near in Joel and Lizzie's case haha! 😂) and so are most comfortable with them.
This soulmates twist is great because we get to see some people teaming up who don't often interact more than a few little bits in most of the other series.
I REALLY liked the new type of time-lapse thing. it was really cool how it cuts to each block and ot stops when something funny happens
Ayo the editing is awesome!! The Relation-Ship is so good! Joel always makes cool builds even in a semi-hardcore world lol, I love your duo and can’t wait for more :DD
Also even before the whole scar/tango thing happened, when joel talking about the material he needed for the build, i was already having flashback to scar burning down etho's trees in the previous 2 season. Please leave The Relation Ship alone scar 😅

I love this editing style so much. I haven’t watched Joel since Last Life, glad he’s paired up with Etho or I might have missed these videos. Definitely quality of footage over quantity, it’s concise and clipped compared to other episodes, but also one of the funniest, the overall narrative of the video is amazing. Love it!
Joel, suggestion!
Scar is already a little trigger happy with flint and steel, so I would maybe suggest changing the relation-ship out for some of the nether wood to prevent flammability. With the warped kind it might look like a ghost ship!

if you’re really afraid of flammable bases but don’t want to work with a depressing grayscale block pallet consider using mud bricks. they’re brown like wood but moist and sturdy so your structures won’t just burn down

That ship design is amazing! I really love how you incorporate different types of wood while blending them all together. And the shape is really brilliant, much taller then other minecraft boat designs I have seen. On top of the mountain, it towers over the server striking fear into the lands at the mention of the name "Boat Boy". But honestly tho, it's excellently done, really inspires me to make something. Keep it up, it's looking incredible, also, Boat Boys all the way!!!
