Hey Real Tool Reviews,.... Thanks!!!! This information and "Tutorial" was very helpful. I remember when I was a teen in the 60's I saw some men using a Hand held "Star Chisel" and a 3 lb hammer to punch a hole onto solid concrete to install a car hoist, which took them hours for just one hole. My...... how technology has advanced, now these jobs are a piece of cake to us
As a plumber this is a 10/10 dig tool in chipping mode super light powerful for exposing around pipes deep in the ground. Not a backhoe by any means but they make a sds plus spoon dig bit and a cheaper to buy bit than the larger 1 3/4. The bigger the better but for this tools usefulness comes from being small and compact
Hi RTR! I got the 28mm (1-1/8") model of this tool. It is not as powerful as I expected, unfortunately. I am a steel worker in NZ, I install structural steel on site and I was looking for cordless solution for those times when I needed to drill a few holes at a time and running long lengths of power cord would be a hassle. I thought this would be the answer, but it is not. Tested with 2X brand new 5.0Ah battery fully charged. I was only able to drill 4X 18mm holes at 100-130mm deep on a poured reinforced concrete. After that, my first battery was empty and 50% charge on the next. I ended up still finishing the job with an old corded drill. This tool is not good enough for my purpose. I absolutely love the FUEL grinder, grunty enough for cutting threaded rods (tested up to M20 rods). Keep up the good work! I am looking forward for more of your reviews.
Thanks for your in depth review covering all the options. Really helped me with my purchasing decision. Besides the obvious advantages over a regular hammer drill, the chipping function is my excuse to have got one. Like a mini jackhammer
Used the hammer function today to drive a fastener into concrete after drilling into it like butter. What a pleasure! No problem doing a 20mm hole into granite after a pilot hole too. Great little light drill with a big heart!
@@sekiro8980 that’s why I started looking into these Milwaukee rotary hammers at the beginning of this year. Stopped obsessing over them for a while. Then Recently I had to drill 1/2” holes into concrete limestone and porcelain for a building project and nothing would work (not even a hilti ramset) except an SDS rotary drill. Wasn’t this one or even Milwaukee. But I haven’t been able to get buying a Milwaukee Rotary hammer out of my head since. And this is the one I ordered! I imagine I’ll mostly be using it as an “air” chisel/hammer myself. I work in automotive.
I wish Milwaukee would finally update their entire SDS rotary hammer line with Gen 2 Fuel. It's been long enough. They've updated the rest of their drill lines. What are they waiting for? So many more upgrades should be made!!! These current versions from 2013-2015 are not as reliable and tough as people think. I ended up selling my M12 and two M18 versions. Went corded Bulldog Bosch.
i purchased tool today prior to watching your video ,which was great.thank you for such a informative very professionally presented information video on my recent purchase. again thanks for detailed video..best wishes & God bless you.
That bit about the handle wasn't in the Operator's Manual and the reason why I'm here. Thank you!! By the way, that 2.5" core bit looked effortless. I wonder if it could handle a 4"?
Really nice review, man. Right to the point and I apreciate that you record the time that takes a drill bit drilling a hole. Not all reviewers do that. Sorry for my english.
Lt. Albert PR Thanks! I thought that would help show the differences people will see depending on the size hole being drilled....I am glad you liked it! Oh, and your English is fine! :)
I remember using an under powered Black and Decker drill to drill holes for a handrail with my dad years ago,the cord got caught on everything and the job took forever. A tool like this would be great for someone who does those kinds of jobs a lot.
I know dragging a cord sucks. But always remember this tool ia great for alot of things. Do not get upset when the battery doesn't last as long as you think it should. This tool has alot more going on than a cordless impact driver. This sds rotary hammer is a great tool. If you need to do core drilling alot... Just pull out the corded sds hammer and not bitch about it. There is a place for everytool.
Great review! I am putting walls up in my workshop and need a hammer drill or rotary hammer. This might be the right tool. I have to say I really enjoy your videos, They are very detailed!
2112reviews Thanks! Just keep in mind that these rotary hammer are NOT for wood/metal at all....solely concrete/stone work. You may want a hammer drill with a chuck if you need for versatility. Good luck on the remodel! :)

We had to cut these 6x8” solid wood wall 48”x28” cutouts and my Milwaukee fuel SAWZALL never let up. My buddy was using the Dewalt flexvolt that seems to have more power couldn’t keep up. My 9.0 battery lasted a lot longer before I had to swap. I was really impress because I thought the 60v would smoke it. The rigid overheated and was the joke of the day. I’ve been using Milwaukee for 7 years now, not one issue battery or tool. I just replaced all my tools with the new fuel line. Can’t recommend Milwaukee enough, best customer service by far. No one in the business can say they have better customer service than Milwaukee. My dad had a battery go out after 2 years and they gave him a new one, no questions ask.
