Been researching CE-1 Clones for a pedalboard build I wanna do next year and my big debate has been to pre-amp or not to pre-amp. It's a big part of the character/vibe to this effect and as a purist I would feel underwhelmed if I got a pedal that left it out in favor of true bypass. However there are still situations where I wouldn't want it coloring the signal chain all the time and the fact that this pedal gives the option to switch it on or off is incredible. For the price-point, sound, and flexibility I'm seriously looking into this. Plus the Tolkien reference gets extra points in my book...
This pedal has more depth and stronger vibrato than my other CE-1 clones. If you’re in the market, you might want to save some time and money and get this.
It takes standard 9V DC and converts it internally to +/-14V like in the original. The resistors and capacitors values in signal path are 1:1 true to the original.
One of the most perfectly done effects in the world. Nice look and great sound balance.
