Would you try this dessert? "kulolo" and "haupia"! 🥥
Absolutely! I love anything coconut and taro 💜💜💜
are you still on 'oahu?
Do you think I should visit Hawaii? It’s sounds really fun!
I'm from Hawaii and haupia is my favorite. I also suggest you try poi with sugar, it's so good. It's a great side dish for a Poke bowl.
Omg I do I love it from the farmers market but you can get it at 7-Eleven try the ube cookies from the 7-Eleven in the morning it sells out so fast and it's so good 🤤🥰
Lisa is so adorable. “Every breakfast” 😂 seriously, ADORABLE!
Edit: To all the people who think I’m a guy please shut up. I’m a woman so stop referring to me as a dude🤦🏾♀️ and even if I was a guy, seriously what is the problem?? I just found Lisa’s reaction to how good the food is very wholesome. There is enough ugly in the world so if I find her reaction funny, what’s the big deal? Y’all are in the comments killing each other over something so trivial. GROW UP!
Saying that some1 is adorable doesnt mean that you like them
Childish
@@Cathy0408 uhm it’s actually not creepy, what *is* creepy is that you think calling someone adorable is creepy
@@Cathy0408 it rlly isn’t-
That is not creepy 😭🙄😭
The gasp when Lisa said she could eat something sugary for breakfast was hilarious. It made me think of your video about not being allowed to have sugary cereals for breakfast growing up. 🤣
haha!
Wow, so hilarious 💀🙄
Odd 1st out !!! He's the one who posted a video about not being allowed to eat sugary cereals for breakfast.
I wasn’t allowed to eat sugary things for breakfast either. I usually eat a sandwich or yogurt for breakfast.
@@baconscoobysnacks3135 yeah, they must be a great comedian 😐😐😐
Kulolo looks like my country's traditional food "Dodol" I think the difference is that we add brown sugar, rice flour and pandan.
We have a lot of flavors of it, strawberry, durian, mango, etc. You should try it sometimes :)
Meanwhile since I can't go to Hawaii I'll just try to make Kulolo at home, looks way simpler than Dodol.
I was about to comment this! This looks so similar to dodol. I didn't know dodol has flavours like strawberry and mango though. I only had the original, durian and pandan.
as a Goan I totally agree
You Sri Lankan?
@@axx4357 i think she's indonesian
@@mambowumboomg that’s so cool
omg i LOVE seeing Lisa in your videos and seeing you in her videos 🤩🤩
Are they siblings??
@@yamilamorales4095 no, they’re friends 🙂
So glad to see Lisa here! Love her!
The Kulolo with the green and purple packaging is my moms company and it is called Pomai kulolo it is a family run company that makes loads of different Hawaiian foods and desserts and when I saw their product In the video I freaked out and told my parents that there is a video with their product on RUclips that has 2 million views I love the video but you should try their poi next 🤙🏼
i love how all of u guys hang out! im a fan of all three of u. u are all such amazing creators, and inspire me every day to try new things. great work!
This made me so happy. I’m so far from home right now, but in the summer for the past couple years we’d make the trip to Waiahole for this. The memories I got from it made the homesickness a little more bearable. This is why I love your channel, it keeps me grounded sometimes when I feel far from what I know
I felt your words. I haven't been back home for a few years now. Missing all my ‘ono grinds. 🤤
Lisa’s and jeanelle’s friendships is amazing
My fave!!! I was raised on Oahu and all the recent content is spot on for the food. Ur making me miss it cause I live some place else now. Kulolo with ice cream is 🤤
I’ve never heard of this but it sounds so addictive.
extremely
I FR READ THAT AS CULO AND I STARTED DYING WITH LAUGHTER- anyway- that’s so cool!
SAME I WAS LIKE “WAIT-“
LMAOOO
ME TOO LMAOOOO EL CULOOOO LOL
LMAOOOO
lmaooooo dead af
This reminds me of Turkish ice cream. I’m not sure of the name but it has a stretchy ish consistency. I know some people who love and hate it. Personally I love it. Not sure how to make it either tho lol. But I think the secret ingredient is cornstarch 🤔
İts name is Maraş ice cream sorry to disappoint you but the secret ingrediant is mahlep (its a grind seed) we also put mahlep in drinks like sahlep it tastes great
Dondurma?
@@johannasweet1120 ice cream means dondurma in Turkish
@@idilakcora1498 Oh no worries for debunking the secret! I am actually happy you did, so now I can go hunt for it in the Turkish markets and make it myself
@@idilakcora1498 ohhh ok
Haven't eaten in 24hours and this looks delicious-
the absolute frienship between Jeanell and Lisa is wholesome af
I hate poi, which is basically the same thing but with less flavor. So I was never a fan, but I love baked taro and breadfruit. My dad had a breadfruit tree in his backyard and we would always pick them when they were ready and bake them that night. SO GOOD!!! I remember hopping in the back of his car to go to the beach with a fat hunk of breadfruit in my hands and eating around the seeds. So nostalgic. I can't wait to visit and ask my dad to make some.
try poi with lomi salmon, bangs
Making me nostalgic with a memory that isnt even mine!!! Lol
My family always tells me poi is sweet but whenever I try it it’s usually sour 😭
@@mxtty5633 older it is the more sour it is pretty sure, hawaiians usually like to ferment poi since we like the sour taste
@@aydroux7437 ohh ok, next time my grandpa gets some I will look at poi that way
Lisa is the sweetest thing her voice always makes me happy
Oh how I miss all the foods back at home in Hawaii 🌺
OMG your friends are in Hawaii?
Lisa saying "...every breakfast" is total mood! 😂🤩
Omg looks so good I’m going to Hawaii soon do I’ve got to try it!
jeanelle !!! please, from a person born and raised in hawaii, go to Kalo Bombs ! check out the menu, i really think they’ll have things you like :D (ps i believe they have kulolo and haupia related items in their menu)
most restaurants in hawaii have kulolo and haupia, as they should
I'm so jealous! I hope someday I can go to Hawaii!
Legit been eating that ever week since you gave us some!
My aunt lives in Maui, then moved in with my aunt in New Orleans for a while, then moved back to Hawaii to house sit for her friend for a while. I miss her so bad, but this makes me think of her and makes me happy 🤍
Maui like from Moana? Never knew they made an island after the show
@@PsychoSledgeHammer1237 no, it is part of Hawaii :) it was formed before the movie 👍
@@keegy.weegy. no? Are stupid, I know my biography enough to know maui was made after
@@PsychoSledgeHammer1237 why are you getting so pressed LMAO you asked... I am not the fighting type, so if you stupidly commented just to fight, you chose the wrong one. Thanks! have a wonderful day/night :)
@@PsychoSledgeHammer1237 lol but you just said that that you ever knew they made an island after a show (a slight loop hole in your attempt to cause an argument)
Y'all have amazing energy like dang
In Malaysia we have something similar.. a dessert called 'dodol'.. they made with same ingredients like this Hawaiian dessert. ❤️ Give it a try!
If it's the same ingredients, isn't it the same dessert?
@@hello7646 quantities and prep also count for the and result
@@hello7646 kuay dodol is definitely alot chewier that this hawaiian dessert as its texture is literally like a super sticky mochi even if you eat it after a few days
Good vibes from these people! 😊
I too would have this bfast. I love taro and coconut based sweets.
I love seeing Lisa
My god it's Lisa I love her and I love when contents creators they like collaborate and then they make a special video for the fans
surprised to see lisa here so you're all gathering! that's so nice! great companions with great meals.
I wish I could try this too ;-;
I've never heard of this but it sounds so addictive
Ahhh! This made me so happy people exploring my culture!! (hawaiian)
I live on Maui so I often see kulolo in those really small super markets, my mother loved eating those from what I can remember. She's not wrong when it sells out fast because I often see a lot of people grabbing them, Hawaii has a lot of interesting desserts it's awesome :D
I love that you and Lisa are friends. It makes me so happy to see two of my favorite youtubers being friends lol.
Are you referring to The Sweet Lady of Waiāhole? I have to get it every time I go to visit family now, it’s so amazing! The warm kulolo with the haupia ice cream is so perfect 💛
Dis right hea just made me homesick. I gotta drive pass Waiahole to get home. Pass Kaaaawa, pass Kahana bay pass Punaluu, pass 3 moa times lol 😭🤙🏾🤟🏾💚
this shows how close SEAs (e.g. Malaysia & Indonesia) bloodline and heritage are with Pacific Islanders (e.g. Hawaiian) !! Because we do have very similar dessert (or ig its literally the same) called ‘Dodol’ here in Malaysia and Indonesia! Oh i must say that Sri Lankan have it as well!
This is what my family calls: vanilla ice-cream and brownie. 🤣
Weird ass brownie made with taro lmao
you sound very happy in this video
Spanish people be like: uhh did she really just… say.. nvm..😳
I thought the same thing🤣🤣🤣
i love hawaii's taro cake!! its so good and chewy!!!
Waiahole poi factory’s sweet lady dessert haha. Yum!! One of my favorites!
Aww I’m so happy your doing collabs!
omg your friends are in hawaii? 😍
as a native hawaiian, glad you like the food
This looks amazing! I promised myself I wouldnt visit Hawaii until more legislation is passed to protect native Hawaiian lands and native people. If only I could get this here in thr continental U.S.
mahalo nui ❤️
and you can order it online! or they have powders mix you can make instant yourself.
@@volleyballbabe1114 oh shit for real? I'm sure it doesn't taste as good as the real thing though. I wonder if they make it authentically anywhere else
that sounds sooo good. i remember having a hawaiian purple yam ice cream with coconut flakes. it was the best dessert i have ever had. Maybe Ill try it again one day with pandan syrup 👀
How was it different from "Kalamay" in Ph? Looks kinda the same. Sticky, chewy, sweet and cooked with coconut milk too..
Here in Sri Lanka we call them Dhodhol.. we stir coconut milk and sugar until it become like hard jelly like texture... i absolutely love it.. 😍
I thought it was an indian sweet called 'halwa' but I'm not sure
@@direwolf69 halwa is more dry right?? Dodol is kinda like hard jelly
having had both can def say they are really diff. Kūlolo is not as sweet and definitely is more dense than kalamay. Also has way more texture than kalamay from the taro.
Hawaiians living different for real. Such cool cultures and diversity
Omg drooools
That looks delicious!
Really cool but titling the video "Chewy ice cream" when it's just something chewy with basically normal ice cream is frustratingly misleading. Not trying to sound/be aggressive about this, just wanted to say something because I felt misled
Yeah I thought the taro thing was chewy ice cream but no it's just eaten with ice cream
The roselani haupia ice cream is sooooo good!
Everyone: talking about how it looks nice..
me: wondering about how she fit 5 bowls in the microwave 💀✋🏻
Fitted💀
@@dylanmajeres5849 fit sorry my auto correct shit 🤧
Looks delicious can’t wait to try!!!
This looks so good !
I’m so sad. I literally moved away from Kauai a few months ago after living there for 11 years. I ate that as much as I could
Sounds AMAZING!!!!
she was like : I have to get this everytime we go to hawai
me : i never heard if someone who went to hawai more than two times
It looks so so good
Isn't that just Halwa? Interesting how different cusines intertwine.
P.S. Halwa is an Indian (i think) dessert made from Jaggery (palm sugar) and stuff and I'm pretty sure it is the same
I don’t think so? Kulolo is made from taro and coconut
The haupia looks amazing
LIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!
Simple yet very appetizing
Dessert for bfast?! Uhm no, Lisa. You'll get stomach upset.
Omg haupia and kulolo sound heavenly
I am also Hawaiian and I honestly love it
That ice cream is best in the world
Taro and coconut sounds delicious, i need go try this 😋

That looks so good I want to try it so bad
Looks tasty, I wanna try it so bad!!
Her voice is so animated, Disney you need to give her a call
FINALLY a mainlander who says “hawai’i” right omg. I hate when people say “ha-whyyyee”
im satisfied with that but ill be impressed if they say it the native way, “ha-whyyyee” makes my ears bleed lol
Lisa does love ice cream 😊
this looks fucking amazing
Finally someone that pronounces these right
Ooo that sounds good!
Looks delicious
That looks so good I love coconut and taro :o
I love their friendship and how they have now formed a team.
I love when Lisa and Hawaiian Johnny Depp ppear in your videos!
we have a similar traditional ice cream in greece, named Καιμάκι pronounced Kaimaki or Caimaki and it's made with matic wich is a type of tree resin and milk and it tasted like vanilla ice cream. It is delicious and it has that sticking and chewy texture, but a bit less chewy than motchi.
Mmmm I love coconut 🥥 . Wish I seen this when I went to Hawaii😍
Sounds good !
