    I have a personal connection to the first chapter of 2 Nephi. During my divorce I was feeling discouraged, distraught and a failure. Reading this chapter in the Book of Mormon verse five was a lightening bolt to my heart and mind. The spirit spoke to me, Jeff yes your marriage is lost but if you keep your covenants I will give you a new marriage, a new inheritance a new family.
    35 years later my second wife and I have 23 grandkids from our 7 combined step children. I dont know how the sealing power works with step children, but we are family. This is a prophecy fullfilled.

    I loved this lesson! The only negative is refuting something I hear all the time, calling the United States a democracy. The founders set this nation up as a Democratic Republic through divine guidance. Huge difference! Thank you for your time helping me think more deeply about the scriptures!

    I actually watched the 2nd part first, about calming anxiety, and I think it was perhaps the most spiritually therapeutic lessons, but I do have dust that I need to rise from. I want to come to Christ! I don't want to be double minded or worldly! Whoa, I have lots of work to do, but on the other hand, I have made great progress, so my local leaders have been saying, and I believe and appreciate them! I am thankful for my testimony.

    I ❤️ the Book of Mormon another testament of Jesus Christ, and the things I'm learning, especially from other inspired sources.
    Jarred's excitement, is palpably, CONTAGIOUS! 😆.
    The spirit speaks the truth of these things, directly to my ❤️!

    Brother Halverson, I just wanted to say thanks again. I watch your videos and listen to your Podcasts. Either way, I sometimes end up listening two or three times because if I start on RUclips and continue on podcast when I am on the go. But then I go back to the video and continue from where I left of and then go back to the podcast. It is so good to have both versions. I even joined Instagram to see what is being presented there but I don't follow those quite so much (yet). May the blessings from above pour on you and your family for your work in the Gathering of Israel!

    36:02 I'm struggling with what you're saying. I'm sure there's a meaning more than what I'm hearing, but what I'm trying to figure out is what you're referring to as "armor", because we certainly don't have to be perfect or take off every last piece of bad before we try and be good. Trying means we aren't perfect but we're trying, and I know you aren't trying to say that we need to be perfect before we try to put on righteousness, but the way the metaphor is used that's what my mind wants to think (which I won't let happen).

    I’m surprisingly, but absolutely, loving that you can’t seem to shorten up each week’s lesson. I laughed at the combined 2+ hours for this week’s 2 chapter lesson.
    Also, “Alcoholics Anonymous” in the upper right hand corner?🤔

    Bro. Halverson, I don't expect you to answer this question. But I would love your opinion. Those verses in 2 Nephi:1, refer to a "promised land", "a land of liberty," etc. I have listened and read about both sides about where the BofM georgraphy is. Both have good points. But this doesn't seem to fit the meso America theory. It fits more into the Heartland theory. The United States is the land of liberty. What are your thoughts?

  • @MichaelVis
    @MichaelVis 11 месяцев назад

    From your words in this lecture one might get the impression that the land of promise only applies to the United States. It's understandable, but the other american countries are also promised land to Lehi's descendant and those who covenant with the Lord. Or am I wrong?

    I’m liking you better. Some of your words convict me; that’s my reward for enduring your presentation mannerisms - no offense. I’m probably being converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed through the great prophet of the restoration. The Book of Mormon is the word of GOD, I know it.

      If you don’t like someone’s mannerisms, don’t you know it’s bad manners to mention them ?? ??? Do you want people to tell you they don’t like your mannerisms? It’s what makes us individuals.
