@@misiosz1983Here are some reasons for why your point are invalid. • It was a singular crash out of the 50,000 flights that BAC/British Airways and Air France had made • The crash was predominantly caused by another plane (A Continental Airlines DC-10 that had left a strip of metal on the runway) and NOT the Concorde itself. • The fact he mentioned Bristol may heavily imply that he took a British Airways and not an Air France which was the one that crashed as a strip of metal was left in the Charles de Gaulle Airport • Concorde was retired in 2003 which meant that you could only fly it 20 years ago or longer meaning that he had the privilege to fly it. • Tickets would go up to £12,000 which would make flying on such a marvel in engineering history an honour.
Ah. This makes me emotional. My grandpa worked on the concorde. He had plans of the plane and was on the crashing point. I have Mock-ups of the plane. Im crying right now. Rest in peace grandpa 🕊️
better explanation: the concorde was designed to fly at supersonic speeds and to achieve that you will need a straight nose and the wings that are on the concorde are designed to be a "Delta wing" But delta wings are not quite capable of flying at low speeds, so upon landing, the pilots need to pitch the nose up higher than normal planes do, to gain enough lift, and with higher pitch angle, it would be harder for the pilots to see the runway, so they designed the concorde to have a feature where the nose drops, it's called "Droop Snoot"
In 1984, while waiting on the runway for take off, I had the opportunity to be parallel to a concord flight who had the right of way to take off. The vibration from the engines shook my plane so much, it felt like an earthquake. For take off, It didn't run forward. It literally lifted its front & took off like it was a bird. There was so much pressure during its take-off that my ears popped. A visual I will never forget.

Slightly incorrect - the wing design meant that it needed a high angle of attack to generate lift at low speed especially without flaps. Therefore the nose would get in the way of the pilots view if it didn't move out of the way.

It is because the delta wing necessitated a high angle of attack (AOA) during landing to achieve lift At that angle, the nose blocked pilot’s front view
Actually, they only have the snoop droop because since it’s a delta wing design, they had to move the plane up farther whenever they’re landing, but they couldn’t see it because of the straight nose so they made it bendable so they could see out of it instead of just seeing the pointy nose
As a aviation Ethausiast this is actually true but the concorde needed more runway because it used delta wings delta wings needed more speed to create lift and they mostly put the nose down during taxing to the runway and taking off and landing but the landing gears on the concorde had a problem so the engineers had a problem with that and then in 2003 it got retired
