The writers liked Junseong off the bat because he was so confident. In his intake interview he said if there were 150 guys he was confident of seducing everyone of them. The writers thought it was amusing and cute as they'd never seen someone who would speak so confidently before. On the other hand, they hesitated about casting Sungho because he seemed a little too out there on his IG. But they were pleasantly surprised to find out he was actually very calm in person. They thought he would be an attractive candidate because of the contrast between his idol-looks and his calm persona. The writers thought Junseong was acting because he was so straightforward about his feelings from Sungho off the bat. Even when the maegi (Hyunjoong and their pick to end up with Junseong) came in JS wasn't even curious about the new guy as a love interest, he was even a bit angry that Sungho went on a date with him. The writers thought his interest in Sungho seemed too intense for just 1-2 days but when they saw how he reacted to the cookie jar note Sungho sent left him they realized he really was in deep. Funny side story, Minsung's writers followed MS and JS to their date and could see immediately they had no chemistry. She sent back a note to the production team saying ít's not a date... its just a bread making factory'coz they were so focused on just making the cookies rather than flirting XD
