The betta she put in the tank was a female. I don't know if she was aware that is was a female, but it's pretty easy to tell the difference. Males have very large fins, & females have small fins. Female bettas can be temperamental, but they aren't nearly as aggressive as the male ones. Male betta fish will be fine with other fish, so long as they don't have large fins, aren't overly colourful, & have plenty of space.

You can tell when a betta is female because it will have an egg spot on its tummy just in front of its anal fin. Female and male bettas are equally aggressive, and the idea that females are less aggressive is a myth !
You have to put them in a take with other fish that don't have pretty glowing fins like guppies. Basically, the beta will attack anything they think is pettier than them lol

The acclamation tips in this video weren't bad actually, but here's just some info they kinda got wrong: 1.) A fish won't be just stressed if you throw them from one tank water temperature to another, it will go into shock and die. 2.) Adding water periodically from your tank to their bag/cup is so smart! But... when it's time to put them in, do NOT add in the bags/cups water. It could have disease in it, nitrites, bad PH or lots of ammonia that can mess up the cycled tank you are putting them in. Also also, please cycle your tanks before putting fish in them. Other than that, love the videos! I loved the Bettas getting 10 gallons and having so much room too, never throw a Betta into a bowl or something super small because of some old wives tale about how they love it. I can guarantee you, no animal on this planet enjoys being trapped inside a small, cramped space for the rest of its life.

Well, there is actually evidence to prove that fish can get depressed. There was a study that came out using goldfish that showed that the the behavior of the fish changed when they were in tanks that did not contain enrichment or when they were in tanks alone. But as long as you are properly taking care of the fish, then yes, they will be content. I just wanted to mention this because not enough people know that fish have emotions.
Also snakes can get depressed when they are happy out they're tank and when another smaller thing comes some owners keep they're snakes in the tank and my mom did that and her snake became sad :c

That cow fish is going to need a 500 gallon tank. They get over a foot long. Also, they are marine fish. So, not ever put a freshwater fish in a saltwater environment and vice versa. They have different osmoregulators and require different specific gravity. Not to mention that freshwater fish can not filter out salts the same way as marine fish can.
I was kind of expecting bad care especially from the betta fish but I got so happy when I was all those good tanks! Especially that huge community tank. I have a ten gallon and a spoiled boi

Most aquarium estlist just don't like them mainly due to aesthetics and make it sound like you owes need live.this happened due to a trend towards aquascaping. But plastic for the most part is fine cuase it's a structure the fish can use to hide and rest.

You do this by adding a small amount of water every 20 minutes or so, and never put the water that the fish comes in into your tank. It could contain harmful bacteria or diseases.
