- Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced that Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will lead the People’s Action Party in the next general election. READ MORE: str.sg/iNTk
He was addressing more than 1,000 party members at the PAP Awards and Convention 2023, at the Singapore Expo Convention and Exhibition Centre on Nov 5.
He said: “Leadership transition for any country is always tricky. Many things can go awry. Both Singaporeans and people outside Singapore, near and far, are watching very closely. Everything depends on the success of this third transition in our history."

Regardless of our individual opinions about his leadership, it's undeniable that he has steered Singapore to world-class status and guided us through challenges like SARS, economic crises, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Sir, many Singaporeans wish for your continued leadership, but we understand the fairness in not making such a request. Words cannot fully convey our appreciation for your lifelong dedication to our nation and its people.

Cost of living keeps increasing.
Minister busy looking for big house, and get into debate because of the house. Sadly, is the debate important. How many hours are spent on this debate? Will this debate benefit Singaporean.
Is this call hard work?
Choosing the right people to be PAP MPs is the most important thing to keep PAP going. My area's MP Darryl David is well-known to be Bo Chap MP who doesn't reply, no follow ups and only 'care' for residents at the superficial level... We need to choose people who are indeed passionate about serving the country and the people.

Singapore is very fortunate that it is ruled by PAP and the Country prospered. If Singapore is ruled by PAS with the Party Ajaran Sesat mentality as described by Tan Sri Muhyidin, Singapore will not be what it is today. Bravo to the leaders of Singapore!!

The political system of Singapore always maintain high standards of government and public service, improved people standard of living and country economy. This is key of success for PAP to win the trust and support from people. The 4G leaders are ambitious, Singapore is going to archive a great nation in the world.
The long rule of Singapore is principally due to LKY being an autocratic and dictatorial manner of doing things
It was also argued that the PAP’s policies have failed or have been shortsighted, as indeed Mr Lee himself admitted during and after the 2011 general election.
You can't be expecting everything to work in real life. When things go wrong, fix it.
The people who call him a Great leader have no idea what a great leader
As long as they get paid or get some special benefit like free parking, they will even lick his toes. But then again he probably considers them low class and filthy to get too close to him.

PM Lee’s conflation of marital infidelity to corruption is a clever sleight of hand. He equated all of the PAP’s scandals - the Ridout Road conflict of interest, Iswaran’s alleged graft and Tan’s marital infidelity - with the Workers’ Party’s one scandal - an episode of marital infidelity that ended years ago. If Lee was already aware of Tan’s affair in 2020, why did he wait until February 2023 to have a ‘hard conversation’ with him?
There are more skeletons in the closet than TCJ.
