    I have a sensory seeker as well, and we got a medium sized netted trampoline to help him. The big ones tend to mess with insurance coverage, and also do feel scary, but we cleared this one with our insurance and it has been such a blessing to him/us.

    • @mellissamercado7904

      um how the hell does insurance have anything to do with things you have a right to put in your own backyard??!

    • @DebBeePlus3
      @DebBeePlus3 Год назад +27

      @@mellissamercado7904 it’s strange, but home insurance can refuse to insure you with full trampolines, just like some will refuse to insure you if you have an “aggressive” breed of dog. In some areas, insurance can require you to have safety fencing around a pool, whereas most areas in the US don’t. I live in an area off the Gulf of Mexico, where it is already hard to get insurance because of hurricane risks, so they get to make whatever rules they want.

    I have ADHD and autism and I can relate to this boy when I was a little kid. I am 15 now and watching these little ones having fun at a park or something just brings back memories of when it was normal to be wild and act immaturely. What annoys me most is people who think other people like me with AUTISM is straight-up Asperger's. Most of us autistic people just have learning disabilities just like any kid with ADHD would. Now me and the little boy in the video have both LOL.
    It all depends where you are on the spectrum.

      Its so much fun! Be prepared to get very hot, sweaty and puffed though; bring a lot of water, wear cooling clothes, and rest as you need it. If i were you I'd try to go in off-peak hours eg during school time, so its not as loud as it can get pretty chaotic and overwhelming when there are a lot of kids there

    ❤ I have a friend with the same diagnoses. I am professional ballet dancer, and he's also our choreographer besides being ballet professional for more than 40 years. Above everything, he is such strong, adorable, loving and honest guy, and that shows immediately. Everyone loves him the moment they see him for the first time, the moment he opens his mouth. He is terribly witty and of extremely high moral values and is the epitome of that sincere, human goodness. Our entire theatre troupe works much better and we all try harder, given that it is evident that he puts in all the effort that is possible to put in every single moment. He is also open to talk to us in depth, about anything that bothers us. He just gets people, and has love for everyone. We're all better people because of him. And he reminds me terribly of your Griffin. ❤

    I’m 53 and I have ADD. One part of me says: Let’s go outside, meet people and have fun, the other side of my brain says otherwise: Stay in your bed for your safety and you never end with a broken heart. One side of my brain says: You are intelligent and kind, people will love you right away. The other side of my brain says: You were never good at nothing and a failure. Today I went to Skyzone for the first time with a group of friends. I was jumping around, climbing like a spoiled teenager and just having fun. You are never too old to have fun nor too young to feel pain in every single bone! Well, Advil helps! I was having the time of my life!😊

      @@lulucakeloveno in case of sensory seeking this will do nothing.
      You need to eliminate the need for sensory seeking behavior by making sure he‘s well enough stimulated, then you can teach him.
      I am personally a sensory avoider and you absolutely need to be sure that I‘m calm enough before I can absorb any information. Being Over-or understimulated is an all-encompassing feeling that doesn’t leave room for input.

    • @user-ny2fk9gm1k
      @user-ny2fk9gm1k 9 месяцев назад +1

      Go exploring with your son. Try every kind of activity together if you have free time. Sit him down in a massage chair if you go to a mall. Go out in the forest exploring. Ride a train. Go to a theme park, a water park. Places that require kids to sit still or not touch things to learn aren’t suited for him so go easy on museums, zoos. There’s to many things you’re not allowed to touch. This is hell for kids like that and you will have to correct his behavior all the time and he will internalize that and think he is „wrong“. See which activity fulfills his needs the most. If you find something that can calm him down, find a way to incorporate that into his life.
      If he is save to interact with more people then you can also introduce him to different sports, gymnastics, swimming, surfing, diving, Dancing and martial arts are among the most sensory stimulating activities. Horse riding is as well but it’s very expensive and dangerous. If he has good coordination, let him play football, learn how to juggle, let him explore his creativity with tricks.
      If he often wants to be held or squeezed, get him a weighted blanket. If he likes stimulation on his feet, put a sensory Matt below his chair at the table so he has a way to not loose his sensory intake while eating. Get him one of those big cushions filled with little styrofoam balls to sit down in. He’ll love it. The more opportunities he has to calm his needs, the less issues you’ll have with him.
      Test how much time he can be focused before needing a break. All time that he is not sensory seeking is focused time. If you teach your son to recognize when he’s in need of a break and give him opportunities to regulate himself he will start regulating himself.
      When you’re at this point it is appropriate to talk about boundaries and stranger danger. Don’t make your kid feel guilty for having needs, explain to him why strangers aren’t the ones responsible for taking care of them.

    Yeah, I worked with a little guy like that at a daycare. I was his "guy" when we were playing outside because he just came to like me most of everyone. So he spent a lot of time just walking around holding my hand. He could not talk and had no impulse control. So he could jump from a rock into my arms without warning.
    Still, I had so much fun. And, when I returned from vacation, he came running to me... and cried out my name. I just about died hearing my own name. I had never heard him talk, and he learned to say my name.

    I'm also a sensory seeker myself. I have ADHD, Anxiety, Asperger's (yes I still use the actual diagnosis), Borderline Personality, Depression, and PTSD.
    The PTSD is fun 🫠
    But yeah we have no sensory awareness at times.

    I’m glad to hear that you’re keeping a eye on him! Since I know some parents will just leave them be and let the people around him deal with it. And then also get really mad if someone complains about it.

    If you ever get the chance to attend or have one one your area, I HIGHLY recommend Urban Air for all the additional activities as well as the trampolines. My kiddos LOVE it. My bladder and pelvic floor do NOT. 😣🤣
