This is the start of my writing/outlining process! Hopefully I made some sense in explaining it, but please check out the videos linked in the description for waaay better info. Do you have any questions about my story structure?? Is my process totally ridiculous?? :D
(Also, can you tell how tired I am in this video lolol?)

KJ, this was awesome! You explained everything so clearly, and I have to say, your process feels closer to my own than any other process I’ve seen described. I always end up splitting my story into 4 parts too because there’s just so much that happens in the middle!

Thank you so much, Railee!! I was worried I wouldn't be able to clarify anything, haha. The four parts thing really is the only part that makes sense to me lol. The middle is too big and takes up most of the book, so it's easy to get lost in it. That's why I like setting more limits or goals for my characters to help with that, haha. Thank you so much for watching, I really appreciate it!! :D

I'm so late commenting; I watched this ages ago while doing some housework and loved it. A lot of writers get stuck in the trap of thinking there is one magical, perfect formula that applies to every story, and that is just not true. It was awesome listening to you talk through your process. I can totally see why you do it the way you do.
    Hope you're doing well!

Thank you so much, Dawn! I just want more writers to realize that there's no one way to do things, no matter what all the advice says, haha. :D

I love this video. Especially that it’s so visual!

By the way - thanks for the shout out 😍 - I didn’t fully understand Rachel’s video at first either, that’s why I did my own lol. And also why I broke it down because it’s too much info for one video

@@EmilyBourne Haha, thank you so much! I tried my best even though I suck at explaining things...especially my own processes lol. It's a lot of info at once, especially if you're unfamiliar with it, so I'm incredibly grateful you broke it all down! It took a number of video explanations for me to finally understand it and compare it to what's always happening in my head, hah. Thank you so much for watching and commenting, Emily, it means a lot to me! :D

novellyKJ you know when I first filmed my story circle video it was all the info in one video and it was me talking to the camera. After filming I was like, nup I hate this video let’s start over. I loved your video. I’m a visual learner and I thought it was really great. And I love hearing personal experience to explain things. You did really well

@@EmilyBourne Thank you so so much!! Hopefully part 2 is decent because I try to explain my method of brainstorming for this new project...without actually talking about too much of my project lol. I think I still talked about it a fair amount though, so oh well either way. XD

I totally get it, and I think this is really amazing, maybe one day you will develop your own style of outlining and it will become famous, everything starts like this and I like your style so much, it is really genius. Have a blessed day, KJ!

Haha, that's doubtful! I think most of the current outlining methods have me covered, they just say it in ways I don't understand or have a lot of beats we're supposed to hit when I think in generalities, haha. But thank you so much, Timi, I'm glad you watched my long video once again, haha! Your support means so much to me! :D

Read Save the Cat Writes a Novel. When you talk about two goals, Jessica Brody says each character has a want and a need. The want is what they think their goal is and their need is what they really need.

That makes a lot of sense, haha! I'll definitely check out that book, thank you for recommending it! :D
