    I discovered that rosemary placed in a jar of rubbing alcohol and set in the sun for three days makes a great pain reliever. Rub the solution on sore joints or muscles for pain relief. It works great.

    Good vid. Sometimes us Preppers need a laugh, so will share one. I was blessed to have my grandmother--born in 1898--who lived to 105. She bought a house in 1929 and died in it. Not too many decades ago, while I was already knee deep in prepping, she showed me where she had her Victory Garden during WWII. She pointed out Mrs. R's garden next door to the south, where Mr.s H's garden was across the back fence, where the two catty-cornered neighbours' gardens were. I asked where Mrs. S's garden was to the north side of her house. My grandmother--probably sitting on this for more than a half century--said, "Oh, Mrs. S didn't have a Victory Garden during the war. She was more of a Victory GIRL back then!" Now THAT's a zinger!
    Growing up in rural OK during the 50's and early 60's, we didn't call any of this Prepping. We called it 'if you don't grow it, you probably ain't eating it.' The reason Prepping has a name is because most of America--not necessarily the rest of the world--has become accustomed to eating sh•t out of a bag that some person shoved through a drive-thru window for an astronomical price. While it slowly damages our hearts and blood vessels and makes us poorer (not to mention making us addicted to fat, sugar and salt), it draws us further and further away from gardening and animal husbandry. As Preppers, we need to wake up and get busy fending for ourselves. The time will come....

      What a fantastic story! Your grandmother sounds like she was full of wisdom and wit-that Victory Girl line is priceless, haha! 😂 You’re absolutely right, though; prepping is really about self-reliance and reconnecting with the basics, like growing our own food and taking care of ourselves. The time will come when those skills will mean everything. Thanks for sharing such a gem

    Excellent advice!
    My Father's family tried to raise chickens out here in California during the Great Depression, but strangely everytime the county inoculated them, they died.
    Thankfully someone kindly gave them a pair of breeding rabbits which got them through those difficult times by selling rabbits. .
    One of my cousins remembered as a boy, wearing a pair of pants that Grandma had made out of one of our Uncle's Navy uniform.
    My Mother remembered that there were times after her Father died, that Dandelions were all they had to eat. Seems one can eat every part of a Dandelion.

    I agree with you that we can learn a lot of things from the past and you are absolutely correct that humans have prepping for thousands of years but they didn´t call it prepping they called it common sense. People today are spoiled when we have the electricity and running water from our tap and we have grocery stores where you can buy your food. And that is why a lot of people think we don´t need to stock up on extra food, water, medicines and other things that are necessary. Well and most people think the government will give us and provide us what we need. In my opinion that is a dangerous mindset to have because when everything goes south they will go into panic mode because they are so used to the modern comfortable way of living. When things happen, they have no idea on how to handle things the correct and proper way and they also don´t have the skill set either and that will cause them to panic. And when they do it can turn to be very dangerous situation for themselves and others. Here is the thing panic is contagious if one gets panic the rest will follow and that cause dangerous situations and that is the herd mentality. I have shared this video out as usual and a 👍as well.

      You hit the nail on the head! Prepping really is just common sense when you think about how people lived for centuries. The reliance on modern conveniences can be a real blind spot for a lot of folks. And you’re absolutely right-panic spreads fast and can create dangerous situations. Thanks for sharing the video and always being such a thoughtful part of the community!

      Hey HotRod! Hope you been doing all right. I just heard a congressman is saying that these drones over NJ are coming from an Iranian mothership. You heard anything about that?

    • @hotrodprepper656
      @hotrodprepper656 2 дня назад

      @@reliableprepper Doing fine my friend. I would hope that if there was an Iranian mothership near our shores that our military would be monitoring them very closely or possibly intercepting them. Something just doesn't feel right with that, why is our government just sitting back and letting them do it? Rumor has it that our government is using these drones to try and find a potential briefcase nuke. We will probably never know the truth so be ready for anything. Stay prepared and stay safe.

    Never hurts to have books,lots of books.No electricity needed and info at your fingertips.How many ppl would be lost without the interweb?

      Absolutely! Books are such an underrated prep. They’ll be priceless when there’s no internet to rely on, and having that knowledge at hand could make all the difference. Great reminder for everyone to stock up on physical resources!

      @reliableprepper the government knows more then there saying. What's worse is if they actually don't know what's going on
