These were running on television during their 2023 world tour, apparently filmed just before they left. Several pentaholics have expressed the perfectly reasonable belief that California Roll should have won, but my personal guess is that because of their upcoming tour Pentatonix had it written into their contract that they had to lose, so the reveal could be filmed before they left town.
I had to request they do it together. I knew Rickk would love it. I wanted Bubbles (Ash) there to see it at the same time. She’s enjoying her Pentatonix journey right now. I didn’t want her to miss out on an amazing video and experience in general. Next he needs to introduce Ash to Adam Lambert by doing “I want to live forever” by Queen at the Isle of Wight festival together. Actually there’s a lot of Adam Rickk hasn’t seen either. That’s what I might try hitting on with future donations. I pick Rickk and now Ash to get my donations because I was going through some tough stuff physically when I discovered his channel. He made me laugh and I’ve been a Rickk supporter ever since. Ash has joined the family now so she will get my next donation (sorry Rickk). You’ve already done the song I want to request she do.

I think it was set from the beginning that they had to leave early because of their European tour. This was prerecorded (sorry George Carlin but I had to use that word) in January and February.
Just so she knows, they have used Autotune exactly once and it was on their 90's Dance Medley. It was due to the use in the original songs. PTX doesn't need it.
_The Masked Singer_ requires background accompaniment, so that isn't a clue. Notice that they were all wearing long white gloves, to obscure the racial makeup of the band. They included no beatboxing until their final performance because it's too distinctive (as if their voices aren't distinctive), and the fact that their final arrangement included beatboxing implies that they knew in advance when they'd be revealed.
They were hands down the best act the Masked Singer has ever had grace their stage. It’s a shame the audience either didn’t appreciate it, or just wanted to see who it was. It’s not called Best Masked Singer lol
They sounded so good, too bad they finished in 3rd place. They should have won. PTX has been the best singers of all the seasons. Too bad they didn't have a sob story so they could win. Still...they were excellent and in my mind they are the winners.
