From 1977 til 1991 I was a caretaker for a wealthy woman that loved to grow all her own food, chicken and veggies, berries and such. She came home one day with what she called a hoe-no. It was exactly like what you used today and I loved it. When she passed and we sold all her tools, furniture and properties, I saved that hoe and I still have it to this day and still love it. Love your channel. Garden on Gary and Cassie.

I had trundle beds for my girls. They moved the beds around in all kind of configuration. Bunk, L shaped, one under the other, separate- two singles. Loved them. Made of solid oak. Worth every penny. LOL Even thou there all grown up and have children of their own. I still have them. Its an investment. G-D Bless.

I've been using "Hula Hoe" (the weeder with a wiggle) since the mid 1970s. I think that's a brand name though so other companies call them other things like stirrup hoe. That Hoss hoe looks really well made. You can use a regular hoe without digging deep with it. The trick is it has to be "extremely" sharp, then you can "shave" the weeds off at ground level. When I use a regular hoe I also carry a file in my back pocket so I can keep the hoe sharp.

👍👍👍. We had a one acre garden with fruit and nut trees all around to help shade for a few hours from the VERY hot summer and Fall sun. Hubby was changing departments for the County so had to use vacation time or loose it. Took a six week trip in a huge cab over camper to travel all across the states but ended in just over two months cus of an accident. Even though we had live in help but the garden was grown over and more weeds than plants it seemed. Took us two solid weeks to get the garden and the place back to our standards but we were so proud after tilling and seeing that rich soil come alive again. Had a similar tool and my gramps part hoe part fork tool that was also a weapon for snakes and even someone trying to break into our place. This crazy lady ran that fella down swinging that tool and yelling while banging on the high chain link fence as he tried to climb over it. Best tool I ever had and it’s still working good with new handle. Weeds come with gardening especially if ya don’t spray them and contaminate the soil for edible plants. But it’s worth it if ya stay on top especially when ya till the rows. Water soaks up better too. Looks like Cassie has found a great side job since ya love to hatch eggs and now when older you sell however many ya want to. Good find on the bed cus Ransom looked so happy on the top bunk. Things are so costly now that any drive to get a good deal is worth it. Yep ya had a very busy day but ya can always dream of Alaska while working and have a smile on your face Looks awesome and thanks for sharing👍😄👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Can I humbly make a suggestion about weeds? I don't know if you are subscribed to a wonder family's page called Living Traditions Homestead. They are a sweet christian family. They just made a vlog about how they literally have almost zero weeds all summer in their garden (which is ginormous!) Please check out their page. They have been doing their system for quite a few years, I've seen it for a few years, and it really works!
    Blessings to your beautiful family!

Thank you for being foster parents. I so appreciated listeng to all your Alaska stories. I had an only child and then got custody of 4 of 2 brothers kids, 3 for 5 years and 1 most of her young life. I felt so guilty going to Disneyland (hubby's choice, not mine) without the 4. I've felt bad about it for 32 yrs. Some told me I was cruel fir leaving the others with gramma and not taking them all with us My hubby wanted time with just the 3 of us which I understood but my heart hurt, 32 yrs that bothered me. My heart ached for them as I was a step child who me and my siblings were treated like junk. I know how it feels to be treated "less than".
So thank you for showing me it was ok to leave some behind although feeling less than some of my life will always hurt.
    Blessings, julie

Gary.... I found the video that I spoke of in my last comment. It is called, " How to make an inexpensive hoe for efficient weeding" and channel name is "Dr. Eric Brennan - USDA - ARS" Very efficient and made from recycled materials! You could make one for each of the kids to use (with supervision, they are sharp!) with shorter handles! Look it up, it is very interesting since you like to build things, and materials are virtually free!! God Bless!
