Great explanation, thank you, came in from helping neighbor with his, and you've answered my query easily and went back to set his static adjustment. wow thanks so much.
We have used the ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y for probably 30 hours with our camper and it’s been great! The noise level is really only noticeable when running the AC and other appliances like the microwave, hair dryer, or coffee pot. It’s not huge like other ones and it has wheels so even at 90lbs, I can move it!
Best video actually explaining the mechanics instead of foolish people just wanting to go fast or blow ot. By removing governor. I have these on woodslpitter s .and had trouble adjusting. Thanks ..believe my throttle is out missing a spring and the 2 parts on carborater the one side moves like it's stripped the non wide open side scree or plastic stop is OK. Top one thunk is bad
What would cause the governor to need to be adjusted? My friend needed help with his generator...it was running perfect then all of a sudden he said it wasn't running good...I got it running good but noticed it over revved...adjusted governor and everything is working like it should now...why the heck did it ever even get out of adjustment?
At 3:16 you say its at full throttle pushing the level away from the Carburettor, then loosen the nut, then push the lever towards the Carburettor saying its at full throttle ? Mm,
Thanks! Very informative. My Honda generator has a GX390 eng. and runs on a propane conversion (snorkel on the air filter) same carb. It now runs at 3440-3480 rpm not 3600 to give me 60hz power. How do I get 3600? Do I adjust the throttle linkage or play with the governor. This happens at low to moderate loads.
After you set the governor like he showed, turn it on and adjust the governor idle set screw (it’s got a spring on the screw and a jam nut to hold it) in to increase engine speed, out to slow down.
Hi, after replacing the oil sump gasket and reassembling my kohler xt 675 toro push mower the mower ran at very high RPMs like the governor wasnt working. I loosened the nut, moved the governor lever to wide open throttle, turned the gov shaft in the same direction and tightened the nut. Still had run away RPMs. I decided to loosen the nut, move the governor arm in the opposite direction (low throttle direction) and tightened the nut and the RPMs were much better and back to a normal sounding mower. Is something wrong the way i brought the RPMs down because its sounding fine now but im the only one whos adjusted their governor lever this way.
On minutes 1:54 you described CLOSE throttle by pulling the lever, but then on minutes 3:12 you demonstrated the adjustment by pulling the lever as OPEN throttle. You got them mixed up and it's confusing.
Excellent explanation. Makes sense and easy to understand. Thanks. Doing this tomorrow on a gx200 that is running WOT all the time.
Very good video! When you get the principle it's the same on every engine which is controlled by a governor system.

Best video on this subject! Thank you
Nice and simple explanation and I know how to adjust the governor on any brand of small engine. Thanks

Ah thanks, I was adjusting mine in the opposite direction which explains a lot!

Lol. He made a mistake but then he realized. I actually came looking for this comment.
he is pushing the throttle to low idle not WOT .
@@subarolla same

So can you even use a governor on a gocart? I put a 200 on this gocart and trying to retain the governor but it takes off as soon as I start it.
Why would you tighten it so that the throttle is stuck wide open? You can’t adjust the idle screw then
everything from loosen the pinch bolt to tighten the pinch bolt is backwards
If doing this, itll give u more speed?

Nah it's fine, you adjusted it the right way
Best explanation...thanks
Very good informational video ✅
So it's supposed to be full throttle when you start it?
Hey this was super good thanks
Thank you and god bless you and your family
Thank you! Now good work my Honda engine
Got it backwards.
That's what I was thinking... I'm gonna try it the other way see what happens
Helpful. Thank You.
Thank you
