I have installed on my fortuner this rat mesh from company ..they have used self tapping screw with washer and then used PU silicone to seal the entire periphery of the mesh

Hello Nikhi, I also own swift please tell me how and where to install it? Not sure how rat has gone inside my car and ate the seats. My car is 2019 model. Please help me suggesting this.
@@tuprapa hi, swift also has similar method. Just open wiper and windshield cowl , you will see the fresh ac vent, cover it with wire mesh.

I agree with you. I had removed the thermacol (updated the description) and used double side tape. later Ford came up with the rat mesh which fits in the side pannel.
These is back side one more open for vent, please check that too.
Yes, but little tricky for rats to get in. Also for that the rear lights needs to be removed and then you can put it. I will do it in one of the service.
Its good idea but why u don't put silicon sealant on the corner of jalli first. Its easy to dry and rubberized So it's no more noise and permanent solution.
Yes. All my further installations are using rhe silicon glue. However I still feel that rats in india are smart and they eat even silicon. So what I generally do is use double side tape and then from top I use silicon glue so even rats eats silicon still the mesh will be intact with the double tape

Which car you have ? Mostly any local car mechanic can fit the rat mesh or it DIY if you have some knowledge about cars and you have required tools. You have to open the front coul below the windshield you will find the AC went which can be covered with mesh. Mesh can be found in any local hardware shop.
If the rat is in the AC duct already. How should I remove it?
It is a lengthy process ... you may want to reach your mechanic

Yes brother it was a bad idea so I removed it and used 3M double side tape it is now a clean and neat fitting. Thanks you noticed it - I updated the same in the description

Yes. Most of them aware but costing prevails on everything else. For Ford they have released specific rat mesh part after many of us written to them.

Agree. There are many ways, I am using tobacco since ages and it is effective. Also The rat mesh is only to protect rats to enter the cabin. I had done this in Santo and Veno also.
@@LooseGravel.. It's OK but not permanent salutation if the vehicle is ideal for a long period.. Avoid any food keep inside the car because they are attractive enough food smells must probably at long idle position..

With the mesh the internal cabin is protected. with 3M rat spray rats are little away.

No. You can’t. There are many moving parts like suspension etc which will not allow you to do that. Rats are a big problem everywhere.

this is the best trick to solve rat problem.. all car company should provide it as default aluminim mesh in car inlet ac duct..
one can also use 4 or 5 aluminium scotch brite dish washer and attach all of them tightly and place it there ... that hole only use if we change position from inside for fresh air

my suggestion is to get it done at SC. I took 30 min it do it. Later I removed thermacol and put double side tape.

Why not company fix this jaali at the time of manufacturing of cars. Simple trick but companies R & D department is not able to crack it.
Every car has this problem so send this video to every car manufacturing company owner and let them do it at the time of manufacturing the car itself.

Clean the engine once a month, carefully with degreaser, and water not forced, and rat will stay away,
Rat comes coz ur engine has rat piss and pee smell, they are like dogs, they come where they can smell there piss, that is why tobacco works, it masks the piss smell, but is temporary, after some weeks Tobacco lose its smell, and rat come back,
So the only thing to do is
1. Clean engine once a month , but carefull not to damage.
2. Keep ur car away from garbage, in light, around busy place.

Mostly the smell from engine bay does not come inside the cabin. The caution is to put the tobacco in a engine bay where there in no heat.
Just wanna ask can we use naphthalene balls inside the car ?
You can use but remember to remove it before you start the car. Naphthalene balls are prone to fire.
Also with heat it will melt faster

yes I realised that later and removed those and put the double sided tape to fixed it.

In fact you should. only thing there are multiple places the RATS can enter into the car one of them is below the dashboard. you need to identify all such places and close the entry points.

There is no long term solution. only thing is clear the engine bay regularly. the Rat drops smells always attract rats. use the methods mentioned in the video. Use 3M rat protection spray (amzn.to/3h9PHpV) in every 15 days.

It will - only problem is it evaporates so fast that almost everyday you need to apply. Also ensure that it is not applied to a place which is hot and prone to fire.
