To be honest with missions, in my opinion, I have a bachelor's degree in filmmaking, so I understand characters devoplment. 1. We need drama and emotional attachment. What this means, let's just say you're on Lorville, it doesn't have to be in space it can be on planet where you just do things around the city. A guy can say, "Hey you over there I need your help with something I need you to drop this package off for delivery, this gun", in which you know guns are banned in the city for example. . Do you take the chance, he tells you that he will give you a great amount of credits. 2. Hey you over there I need help can you take this or deliver this package to the next city over it needs to be driven you only get this mission after you get a vehicle and then the NPC activates while you happen to be walking around in the city things like that. 3. Human connection is everything, I just don't think having missions given to you on a hand wrist captures attachment two characters or gets you to care about what you are doing, not just money motivated but investment to what happens next. Maybe your choice matter and you end up getting someone killed because of greed or maybe it might lead to an awesome armor that gives you perks or later on you do a mission which requires you to to gain rep but the leader of that organization remembers that you got his sister killed or finds out so you get rejected or you have to work harder. In my opinion talking to NPCs behind a desk immerses you into the world, it's basically primal human connection, I know that they talked about this last citizen saying that they want NPCs to give missions now, it's a start but having PlanetSide missions things that give you a reason to use things before you go into space before you meet other characters on a ship and fly for them as a gunner on a ship of NPCs. Like common, maybe you carve your own story out of those NPCs, those NPCs become your subordinates and you become the hero of your own small NPC organization. 4. Maybe it's only then when you're following a mission that you come across PVPers, players that you come across who are trying to stop you from achieving your goal, not necessarily to interfere with your mission or know what your mission is, they have thete own story and goals, but you come across them by getting taken out of quantum travel because they are just there. Not missions that bring you into pvp not unless it states PVP will be there but not on your main quest, not unless pecified in the quest. 5. What about chain quest that gets you a unique ship, or, a unique Banu ship, I know this is in Chris Roberts heart to do these type of quests, he has talked about this in the past, I just don't know where we are with it for me this is what keeps people playing your game being lost in a world of missions being set up by NPCs, unique items not sold on the website. The only game I've ever seen truly pull this off was Star Wars the Old Republic MMO with cut scens an immersive environments with quests. I sure hope the mission team has been working hard on 1000s of quests in the background for implementation, I guess one can only hope.
I'm sitting this PTU out. My 4.0 Preview is broken (can't access hangar) so I'm taking a break. I found myself getting too frustrated, so I'll just wait for the next patch to live. On the bright side, I'm now almost completely caught up on the post-Endgame Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and shows! Might have been better off spending that free time jabbing hot needles into my eyes, but I'm a completionist by nature.
I salute you. The last MCU show I watched was Loki season 1. I'd just rather play video games or guitar than watch movies/tv. Maybe I could get caught up on some tv shows while playing SC on my second monitor considering that SC has been "waiting simulator" recently lol.
I'm genuinely just glad that the blackout-eating bug was fixed, it's been a huge pain to *need* to have smoothies or dupe them. Happy to also see falling through the ground in Pyro should be fixed, most of my deaths have been from that. Now hopefully they work on interaction delay around Monox.
A bigger question: Will contested zone keycard terminals be fixed? Will the lack of loot spawning inside them be fixed? The entire game loop is pointless when the entire point of going to said Contested Zones is to obtain things you can't buy, but that don't spawn, and the keys you can't get, thus bringing your progress to a screeching halt. Oh, and it's not just one server, it's almost EVERY server where something's broke.
Seems like so much is fixed, I am really excited to see a smooth running, less buggy SC. Something where you can complete game loops and make progress. :)
thx for the infos ont the fix. i know it isn't fun all those bugs , but you can always say Pyro is a sytem so unlawfull that it doesnt respect physics law as well
The most interesting thing to me is how many known issues they'll let go, with their new commitment to "playable", I'm keen to see how short the list is on the new Live patch.
My QI gets melted by missiles pretty easily on 4.0. Currently, I will say that a single size 3 can knock out most systems if not completely destroy the engines. Fighting against ballistics in general is a nightmare in the Guardian. I have yet to try out the PTU 4.0.1 changes to see if the extra hull makes a difference.
It may not be in the best state right now, but i feel there are a lot of good signs of a great experience ahead. I am not expecting it till Q2 at the earliest, so my expectations have not meant me raging at CIG (just the players with a negative attitude) 😅
Seems like the fixes for the Guardian are just the tip of the iceberg with more fixes to come. It looks very cool, but there is something to be said for _not_ having various control thrusters mounted on bits that fall off.
I think they reduce the UEC reward because those bounty missions are being done a lot by players and they are lowering the reward to try to get players to do other content. The dumb thing about this is a lot of players are doing this because it’s the primary pve content left in the game that’s fun. Most other pve missions were stripped out in 4.0 for now and all of pyro is PvP so most of my play group just don’t bother with Pyro. Those bounty missions could pay 0 and I’d still do them because it’s the few fun things left in the game.
2 more work shifts and i can try out the latest 4.0.1 patch. Wasn't too good last week... 44k bunker missions where the bad guys were nowhere to be found....or 3 or 4 of them were missing so always failed the mission.
Man I feel like CIG’s marketing teams give content creators a script to read for every single “patch notes” we all hear the same thing that is regurgitated from the devs, but hey let’s get excited to stop “testing” live so we can go test the testing environment which wont actually fix any of the bugs or complications but will be sure to iron out any ship sales all the while having devs and content creators gaslight the community saying everything is fine and that we are waiting for them to develop some new god tech they swear will fix the game
Nice that many mission orientated bug fixes seem have been done and work in PTU. However, all the old years old bugs persist as doors, elevators, clipping, inventory etc and server meshing ?? I dunno. I'm unimpressed overall. Hopefully the current build isn't the Live candidate.
I've always considered a lot of games and the way they are built not on great foundations. Sadly, I feel this is more so for Star Citizen, because it feels pieced together like a lot of "normal" games but with the added complexities of newly implemented tech in the background. Some things need to be approached differently, like the core tech needs to be developed with better planning and less bugs that are hard to debug and trip the whole system up when they go wrong 🧐

Finally, hope they really fix things up this time.

Elite dangerous.
@@escapetarkov3838 I played Elite for several thousand hours. Great game but too much time has passed and I don't want to try to re-learn everything.

Thanks Erad for allowing me to be lazy and not read the notes.. 😂
Great vid, short, sweet and on point.
Thanks for the update Erad! Always appreciated.
Nice coverage, Erad. Really looking forward to 4.0.1 being released.
thank you for the summary erad

Any mission fixes that arrive will be welcome; not being able to get missions to complete and get paid is a problem.

Thanks for the updates! Hopefully we will get some stability soon.
Sadly, I have only been playing the preview channel, but I hope they get the missions fixed.

Really keen to see what the in game prices will be like for the Guardian and the Starlancer.
Managed to finish my Save Stanton missions so waiting for 4.0 to arrive in LIVE now.
Yeah, most people I knew that had a Guardian, got rid of it, especially the engines would fall off if someone just sneezed at them.
It may not be in the best state right now, but i feel there are a lot of good signs of a great experience ahead. I am not expecting it till Q2 at the earliest, so my expectations have not meant me raging at CIG (just the players with a negative attitude) 😅
Falling through the ground in any game is very annoying.
Seems like the fixes for the Guardian are just the tip of the iceberg with more fixes to come. It looks very cool, but there is something to be said for _not_ having various control thrusters mounted on bits that fall off.
I prefer the QI too. The base model might be slightly faster and more manoeuvrable, but I'm not that good a PVPer to notice the difference.

As a Polish myself, I always say that this game need more Polish!
thanks for the update
I'm still skipping 4.0.1 as long as it's in PTU ... but fixes sound quite good and I hope it will soon be stable enough for going live
I got SAVE STANTON finished in spite of bugs, WooHoo!!!
There's a HOTFIX now too..
❤❤❤

Yes, more fixes
Cant wait
Guardian had issues with taking extreme damage from just 1 missile based on what ive read.
I'll accept any fixes at this point.
I’d rather they take there time and do it right before pushing it to live.
Thanks for update whats new
patch to live soon me hopes!!
FIXXES!!!!!
Missles are not being balanced on ammo. Its being balanced on useing them indiscriminately on ground targets is unwanted gameplay right now.
I can say with certainty, this game isn't well grounded.
I've always considered a lot of games and the way they are built not on great foundations. I guess ATLS is still not getting fixed .
Fixed - Argo ATLS - PU - Mounts - ATLS teleports around area when entered by player in motion (STARC-133112)
@@TheTheoblad that killed me more than 4 times
lol me too
thanks for the update
