So this performance was in 2016, and they still perform Fire in concert. My first BTS concert was in Los Angeles, California on December 2, 2021, and they opened the concert with ON and they did Fire with a different instrumental remix, and it was still this good. They are just amazing. 3 hours of BTS performing 24 songs and they took 3 breaks for costume change. And BTS doesn't do a warm up band, it's just them. I unapologetically danced my ass off the whole concert, screaming fan chants and Korean lyrics (I'm sure I butchered the language). I had the best time of my life. If you ever get a chance to experience a BTS concert, I highly recommend it. My Husband and two neices came with me, and everyone had a great time. The Purple Ocean is real. That's what we call a BTS concert when ARMY's light their ARMY Bombs (BTS Official Lightstick), and you can see the ocean of purple light, swaying to the music.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
They opened with On and Fire on Dec 01 as well. How is it possible that a 3 hour concert seemed like it lasted 5 minutes? The concert was transcendentally timeless. Reading your description brings it all back. Dancing? Check. Awash in a purple ocean? Check. 💜

BTS LIve, wow would I LOVE to see them but finding them only last year I've never been to a live concert, just the online ones. Their energy and Army's must be something to experience. Not to bring the energy down or anything but I watched a reaction video today and it was BTS Hardship's by xCeleste and having read the comments I was so shocked to see what BTS & Army have been through. The hatred they experienced is unbelievable because they came from a small company and were doing so well. To see them performing here in 2016 ( (& in 2017), at the height of the hatred within SK and abroad) and the way they brought it to the audience (most likely the very people & their companies that caused them soooo much grief) makes me soooo proud of them and Army. Wow. Thanks to Army from day 1 keeping BTS going, they did something truly special. To get an idea of how bad it was even Army ended up suffering depression from all the attacks, never mind BTS. Some left the fandom as they couldn't cope with the vitriol. Well, look at both now, unstoppable, really FIRE! Fighting and borahae! 💜💜💜

I recommend this because the camera work on MAMA is so messed up. In this performance, Mic Drop was their 4th song, so the members were exhausted and held on with their mental strength only. And, there were even three dance breaks at this time. I can feel all of them Even if I die, I will die on stage. The energy is crazy! If you start accepting new group suggestions, I'd like to plug a favorite group of mine as a potential reaction candidate. Their name is *Dreamcatcher* ! They are a seven member K-pop girl group that debuted in 2017. Known for their darker concepts (serious, dystopian, and/or spooky) and for being the only group to incorporate rock into all of their title tracks in some manner. Their earlier rock sound was heavily influenced by J-rock/pop (anime intro vibes). As time went on, their rock sound evolved into a more modern rock sound and they started mixing/blending in other genres. Almost all of their MVs are story driven. Some storylines span multiple MVs and others are standalone. All amazing vocalists (even their two rappers). Easily one of the most unique groups you'll experience in K-pop. If that sounds like something you'd be interested in, I'd suggest one of these two songs as a starter depending on what interests you more: - "BEcause" (2021) - Latest title track. Creepy af. Song lyrics are about obsessive love and the MV concept involves doppelgangers. The MV and choreography are influenced by, and have references to, the movie "Us". - "Scream" (2020) - First song in their "Dystopia" trilogy. The trilogy addresses and calls out anonymous harassment, bullying, and obsession with technology to try and escape that tough reality. It's all handled with well thought out lyrics and a shit load of symbolism in the MVs. If you decide to give them a chance, a pre-emptive thank you. Honestly I can't speak for what Suga really wanted the "I'll forgive you" to mean, but since you asked for our interpretation of it I'll share mine ^^
For me the song is about how society makes "rules" and "molds" that make us miserable if we don't follow them. It makes us feel inferior if we can't achieve those standard and question our value when we look at others who actually fit. Hence my interpretation of "burn it up" and "fire": it's like they're encouraging the listeners to just burn that checklist that we use to compare ourselves with to others or determine our value in society. It's almost revolutionary lyrics asking people to rebel against the preconceived ideas of our society and put our happiness first.
But if you destroy something usually you get blamed for it. So for me "I'll forgive you" is another part of the encouragement they're giving as though they're saying "Just go for it, do whatever you want to do to be happy, even if others blame you for going against the system or being a rebel, we're on your side, we'll forgive you in their stead."

Fun story from Armys. There was an Army who visited Korea and saw trash burning outside a restaurant. Said Army does not speak Korean at all, but because of this song knew that the Korean word for Fire is: bultaoreune. So to get the attention of the restaurant workers, she kept on pointing and saying Bultaoreune until the restaurant owner saw and put out the fire. 😊

There was another story where an int'l army was in a Korean restaurant and the food was not heated so she called waiter and asked him to heat the food again but the waiter couldn't understand so she literally sang bultaoreune and then that's when the waiter understood.

If you start accepting new group suggestions, I'd like to plug a favorite group of mine as a potential reaction candidate. Their name is *Dreamcatcher* ! They are a seven member K-pop girl group that debuted in 2017. Known for their darker concepts (serious, dystopian, and/or spooky) and for being the only group to incorporate rock into all of their title tracks in some manner. Their earlier rock sound was heavily influenced by J-rock/pop (anime intro vibes). As time went on, their rock sound evolved into a more modern rock sound and they started mixing/blending in other genres. Almost all of their MVs are story driven. Some storylines span multiple MVs and others are standalone. All amazing vocalists (even their two rappers). Easily one of the most unique groups you'll experience in K-pop. If that sounds like something you'd be interested in, I'd suggest one of these two songs as a starter depending on what interests you more:
- "BEcause" (2021) - Latest title track. Creepy af. Song lyrics are about obsessive love and the MV concept involves doppelgangers. The MV and choreography are influenced by, and have references to, the movie "Us".
- "Scream" (2020) - First song in their "Dystopia" trilogy. The trilogy addresses and calls out anonymous harassment, bullying, and obsession with technology to try and escape that tough reality. It's all handled with well thought out lyrics and a shit load of symbolism in the MVs.
If you decide to give them a chance, a pre-emptive thank you. If you don't react to them, you should really check them out when you have some free time. They're worth it. Again, thanks for the reactions!
