Nice one. This song was a collaboration with Tim Henson and Scott LePage from Texas prog rock band Polyphia - they did the guitar arrangements and played on the studio recording for the album version.
To be honest this one had to grow on me too, first couple of times I listened to it I wasn't blown away either ... the more I've heard it the more I've liked it each time and it has climbed up my list of favourites "step by step", so you never know, the same may happen to you.
It is a very uplifting song - and when Su-metal tells me "Its gonna be OK, alright" I believe her.

As soon as I heard this song and learned about Polyphia, I've become a big fan. Their guitar work is just ethereal and other-worldly.

I have to disagree with you about the English lyrics, they are almost perfectly blended and Su hits it out of the park for a grand slam. The fact that this is a compilation of several different concerts might have thrown you off. I recognized two different concerts, even though they do a good job putting the compilation. The two I recognized were the 2021Budokan 10-day series that finalized their first 10 years and the other was from their last concert at the LA Forum, in 2019, I believe. I also think that because this song is really rock/pop infused it might have hit you the wrong way. In any event, it's one of my favorite songs by them. There are just so many great ones. Another one that is something else is "Night, Night, Burn", only done live once in Japan. Only Baby Metal could do a Latin-themed rock/metal creation and nail it. One of the best parts of the song are the dance routines, it's very cool. I especially enjoyed it because I have been into Latin music for over 50 years and it was really cool to see them do a Latin slant.

I think Brand New Day is the most successful collaboration in Metal Galaxy, as the song is both Polyphia and BABYMETAL, it's a very nice and tasty blend of both.
Yes, it may sound a little bit on the pop side, but all together, rich choreography, challenging lyrics, smooth singing and fresh music concur to make this one of my favourite. 🤘🏻🦊⚡

Great to see you back with another BABYMETAL song.
    This is a rare one.
They've only performed 'Brand New Day' three times.
It premiered at 'LEGEND - METAL GALAXY' on January 25th, 2020.
They performed it again in March at two of the ten 2021 Nippon Budokan concerts.
The studio track features Tim Henson and Scott LePage from the Texas based group Polyphia.
They've talked about wanting to perform this on stage with BABYMETAL.
I'm sure BABYMETAL's Kami Band were happy to take up the challenge of performing this one live.
Su's range on the 'Metal Galaxy' album blows me away.
Every song shows off something different about her vocal abilities.
It's not surprising that she spent more time in the studio for this album than for either of the first two records.

Nice reaction. Babymetal delvers another positive message song. As a Roady what do you think of those stages? That was a compilation of several different shows. I like that video wall myself. It gives the appearance they're performing from space at times. very cool. I do know the hard work that goes into building a wall that big. Kudos to their Roadies and stagehands. Add in the AVL'ing workers and all those folks are the reason Moa has refed to them as Team Babymetal. Because it takes so many people to put on their shows. How long would you say it takes to set stages like that and then strike them? They do a great job with the production of a Babymetal show. All part of why Babymetal is everything you want in music and something you didn't know you needed.

    Hmmm. Surprising.
In my opinion this song shows Suzuka’s range as a vocal artist. So much that she is able to adapt to.
Would be interested to see someday see your reaction to these LIVE performances
Shanti Shanti Shanti LIVE (not the MV)
    Shine LIVE,
    Kagerou LIVE
Karate LIVE at 2016 Download Festival in the UK.

Metal Galaxy is a wonderful album and full of surprise, you're gonna find many more like this with more mature sound.
This song got the collaboration of Polyphia guitarists, Tim Henson and Scott LePage. Recently Polyphia got a viral clip when they were performing live and having an issue with the drummer IEM not working and a roadie had to help in a unorthodox way to save the show, highly recommend to watch that clip.
Tim Henson also said when listening this song that he would love to play this song along with BabyMetal on the stage, he didn't knew the final cut when he was doing the riffs on this song.
The dance on this song is beautiful and graceful, they're showing another mature side. According to MoaMetal is the hardest song to dance along with BxMxC and Night Night Burn iirc.
Song is inspired on certain "City Pop" band and Utada Hikaru songs, when SuMetal heard this she doubt about this being a metal song but then the guitars solo were added and all make senses suddenly.
The third backup dancer or avenger in this live compilation with clips from Legend Metal Galaxy 2020 and Budokan 2021 are: Riho Sayashi and Momoko Okazaki, respectively.
Apparently some fans are finding vibes of this song on the new single Monochrome, i can find the same pace and mature side vibes, maybe the message of the lyrics too, but not the same sound, totally different but both songs are enjoyable in their own way.
Don't worry if you don't like this song right away, remember sometimes certain songs needs time to grown on you and depending on your mood it can even become your favorite BM song.
Btw if you're gonna watch "Da Da Dance" i recommend you to watch first their usual intro called "Future Metal", not sure if it is at BMRR but pretty sure you can find it around, also the official MV doesn't have live audio, for your consideration.
Keep enjoying BM songs, Happy New Year just in case and see you next time.🦊🤘🎆

Thanks again and good morning from Japan 有難う💛。 Brand New Day is the suitable song for fresh start of your day. This video is a fan made compilation from two shows mixing pro shots and fancams. "Brand New Day" has been so far performed only 3 times on stage. Very fortunately I witnessed all of them. Please say "Lucky you!" ヽ(^o^)丿Especially its world premiere on Jan.25, 2020 was stunning. Normally BABYMETAL fans would like to see the girls' charming facial expressions clearly as well as their dance moves. But we could see only their silhouettes and .... that was enough. Kami Band's paly was full of elegance, figures of Moa & Riho were exquisite and, more importantly, Su's voice had celestial beauty. And two performances done on Day-7 & 8 of 10 BABYMETAL BUDOKAN concerts last year were also beautiful with Momoko.

Always appreciate your view. This is a bit of a divider. I happen to love it as an example of a great pop rock song with very mature vocals from Su in her "pop star" mode. A great performance at LMG with excellent choreo. Babymetal has moved their sound significantly with each album but most significantly with Metal Galaxy. How can they not? 25 year old women can't keep performing Gimme Chocolate and Doki Doki Morning forever (as much as we may still like to see them do it). The band is still there and much more visible in the blu rays of the concerts. But I hate the masks and hope they go back to visible and recognizable band members.

I also prefer Japanese, although I think Su does a very good job of mixing the two. The English language just isn't as melodic. The song itself is very different, but I think it sounds great and I'm glad they created it.

This might be one of my least favorite songs from them, and it needed a lot of time to get into my feels. But with time I accepted it, it is a chill intimate song that makes a good break from their fastest and heaviest stuff in the concerts of the Metal Galaxy era where it was played.

You got to let go of the whole English thing, it is very common for Japanese performers to incorporate English into their songs. They do this for a number of reasons, often times it is because it sounds better in English and sometimes there is no Japanese equivalent to the English word they are using. Also in BABYMETALS case they often do it for their English speaking fans to whom they are extremely grateful to.
They did a tribute song to their fans called the One and preformed it entirely in English for the English fans, (there is a Japanese version as well) they were honored by all the support overseas and they appreciated English speaking fans learning the Japanese lyrics to their songs.
Not hating on you or anything , just want you to understand that it is common with Japanese groups and with BABYMETAL specifically it is done to honor us. I hope their continued use of English in other songs doesn't muddy up your future enjoyment of songs you have not heard yet.
Regardless, thanks for giving this song a chance. I hope you enjoy what comes next!
There is a trio of songs known to us fans as the Trilogy of Light.
Starlight - A song of loss (Legend Metal Galaxy Live Performance)
Shine - A song about overcoming that loss (Legend M Live Performance)
Arkadia - A song of hope for the future (Legend Metal Galaxy Live Performance)
In that order, They are amazing and beautiful pieces of music, there is English use in Starlight and Arkadia but I hope you can see past it as they are stellar songs, I think you will enjoy them very much.

Since you are getting into Japanese female bands, you should check out SCANDAL. They are Japan's veteran rockers and gave been around for 16 years and are still banging out the hits. Some of their really good songs are Shunkan Sentimental, Pinheel Surfer, Departure, Harukaze and Stamp. Give them a look-see.

@@johnschultz7765 That's how they got their start, doing music for anime. But my favorite is Shunkan Sentimental. There is a video on RUclips of their 10th anniversary concert outdoors, where the entire audience sings the lyrics along with the band. That's enthusiasm for you. I also love Tomomi's voice, even though some reactors have come down on her about it. It's gives you something you would never expect to hear.

I appreciate they try to sing in English - and don't mind the usual smattering of English in their Japanese songs - but her voice really doesn't suit English......well....American at least - it seems to lose SO much impact. For me the album was good but their weakest imo

So most of your reactions are to their stuff prior to 2018. This a jump to their last recent performances (looks like all fan cams). You notice the change.. Also you notice.. Where the band? They are hidden in the corners in the dark with masks and out of view for most of the audience. You'll notice is now more "Baby" than "Metal". Guess we'll see what their new album will bring.

That's not what's happening at all.
As they've said in interviews, they are moving into a more mature, adult version of kawaii in their songs.
They often give 'Elevator Girl' as an example, but I think that 'Kagerou' is a better demonstration.

What you mistaken is, they always been Babymetal and is officially only the girls, they don't try to be another normal band, they are what they are, KamiBand is a seperate entity with their own band stuffs. And in this MG tour era they couldn't tour with BM, so BM brought Galatic Empire band in their world tour - that band is, well known for their hidden identities under Starwar outfits, so both of Kamibands were masked.
Also if you're there on the set, you'll see the band normally, doesn't matter those proshot they're now more focused on the girls
