    As corny as it might sound, this really sums things up and tells a very good story for some people.
    It’s never easy to be there for others and it’s always vital to know you should take care of yourself, too, even when it’s not easy or obvious - it’s not as simple as petting a dog though.
    As an NSPL phone operator, this really touched me. Thanks for this animation.

    I know what this feels like actually.
    I spend a lot of my time letting my friends vent to me, tell me their problems and ask me fore advice.
    One of the joys of being an empath is that when people lay out their feelings on you, it really starts to weigh you down.
    Any other empaths out there?

    • @icetheiceice9703
      @icetheiceice9703 5 лет назад +16

      Addilynn Shae Henson i relate so much. I’m very empathic and it hurts me when people suffer. Is it weird that when you help others, they don’t help you any way when you cry, even in-front of them?

      @memz5220 5 лет назад +12

      icetheice Ice, where do I even begin? So many people have done that to me and it hekin sucks doesn’t it?
      You really start to figure out who your real friends are and who’s just using you for attention. The hard part it trying to stop helping those people who are using you.

      icetheice Ice, oh dear??
      Most of my friends happily take my advice.
      The other, when she vents to me, she not only puts me in situations where I quite literally don’t know what to say to her, she also doesn’t take my advice. She also does the whole thing where I tell He she looks nice or pretty she goes
      “No i don’t”
      And I’m over here like
      “Just accept the fricken compliment!!”
      Don’t get me wrong I love helping people out as much as I can but it really puts my day into a downward spiral when they dump everything on me and and I end up really tired or just depressed about my own problems😅

    Remember : helping someone is the best thing you could ever do. Listening to someone in their time of need can be vital for them. Although letting them vent to you is amazing and a great way to show you care, after a while it can become extremely draining. I’m not saying you should totally ignore them, but just step away for a day or suggest they talk to a therapist. Listening to others problems for long extended times can cause more harm than good and can be damaging to you, so be conscious next time a friend vents.

To the extent that I found my mind being pre-occupied with those problems shared with me when those were not my problems to begin with.

    When encouraging others we may become sharers of their burden. Thus the animation is called "side effects" since that is the side effect of helping others. Then in turn bearing all of that stuff (it could be different things) can start weighing us down. So we need something that can lift us up. I guess one thing is pets and as shown here it benefits both parties as a result.

      I feel the same. I'm a suicide attempt survivor and I saved three people from killing themselves nine years after my second and latest attempt in 2012. One woman tried to jump from a bridge after her best friend fatally jumped from it and I was the only one who managed to talk her out of it. We cried, we hugged and she made it home. Two years ago, I had an omen that a coworker was depressed and manic. Ten days after, I saved her from jumping off six stories and whilst everyone thanked me, I broke down so bad that I collapsed on the ground, sobbing uncontrollably. I took hits to protect others at the expense of my life. I'm the friend who will wipe your tears until toi feel safe. I'm the person who will console someone grieving. I'm the person in the subway who will give you a tissue if I see you crying. I will a buy a full-course meal to an homeless man. I will help a friend pay their rent and be the first to talk to them for hours if something ever happens to them. They will confide in me ans cast their inner secrets on me. I will cry with them and help. I will rush to anyone's defense in the face of danger even if I have to get injured or killed. I'm always someone's helper. It gives me comfort to help but sometimes, it's draining and I often cry because of it. I feel despondent. But happy to bring a smile on their face. The weight of the world is often on my back because I try to protect and help everyone around me and see beyond their eyes. I feel others' sorrow and joy and it's like I CAN'T prevent myself from taking up for others from friends, family members to strangers. I'm very loyal and keep an open heart even though I have a tough, blunt and aloof nature. And all of those who've ever known me or still know me today told me that my heart is my biggest asset and it makes me one of a kind. But I'm a bear with argile feet. However, I'll always come for everyone in need because this is the core of who I am and maybe that's my purpose. However, I also need to not forego myself for the sake of others. It's so difficult because I carry a lot on my shoulders. Maybe I'm only human but doing something is what humans should do. Maybe being an empath is my fate.

    Great movie! In such a simple way, he shows the complexity of interpersonal relationships in which there is epathy and understanding for others.I especially recommend it to psychotherapists who face the danger of internalizing the struggles of our clients on a daily basis.
    It is not easy to be with others at all. It is also important to know how to take care of yourself. It's not that simple. It is not enough to pet a dog at the end of the day and it is good to spare close people who do not face so many feelings of others...
    Empathy may not be necessary to work with people, but it is healing and is at the very core of the relationship of trust, understanding and a special kind of closeness that is built during the psychotherapeutic process.

    The black things symbolize problems.
    When the black things transfer from one character to another, it means the character who originally had the black things told their problems to the other character, so the weight of the problem is passed on from one person to another, usually these are social or mental problems, (the ones that usually cannot easily be solved physically) things like their anxiety, their fears, their insecurities, their poor social life, etc etc. Usually these problems can be solved by talking to someone, the feeling of them listening to you makes you feel special because someone went out of their way to help you but this has an effect on the person listening, when the problems leave, it's unloading the emotional baggage they carry around and putting it on the person who listens. the more the black things cover their body, the more severe the problem is, (seen with the girl who was about to commit suicide)
    So when this guy can't handle any more problems, be goes home to his dog to unload all of that by telling his dog the problems that have been collecting, there is no load put on the dog because the dog cannot understand human language but knows his owner is talking to him so he listens anyway because he is a good boi. The load is lifted off the dog because the only problem the dog carries is the worry of losing his owner, the problem is lifted because the owner is now right before him, leaving him nothing to worry about.

    I love this soooo much ❤ And I just spent 20 mins looking for the name of the artist who made this original - and I finally found you! ❤ It’s a such a beautiful, deeply touching cartoon ❤ it has been remixed 10000000 times and It makes me so sad that people remixing it do not quote you as the artist, and that it’s soooo hard to find you! ❤

    Well, it's 2021. I guess it's in order to represent this beautiful story with a re-addressing of the colorways. 🌿🌱

    Notice how everyone has Darkness all over them and their head is the last thing to be covered, except for the one girl who hit the one dude, notice how they only have Darkness on their head being concealed by their hair.

    I have a lesson that goes with this story, and to be honest, I think it fits very well!
    “Sometimes, you need to walk in the darkness so that others can see the *Light!* “
