It's fact the kliq despised Shane. They've said it in numerous shoots. Of course Shane was injured- he wrestled for ECW (R.I.P.) His performance in wwf was compromised by his personal habits, compounded by his kliq burial. His horrible booking was a sign he would never be pushed. Who knows...if he had come to the wwf after his wcw stint 1st, his chances may have been better to be an upper mid card star. If he, Shawn & Hall had gotten along, maybe he would have been part of the kliq. Like Bret though, probably not because of differences of character & pesonalities
Was Razor originally slated to be a 4 time Intercontinental Champion? He only had it for HBK's 'incident'. Which was basically a real life scenario turned kayfaybe storyline.
He’s among the most hated by other wrestlers in history!! He complains more then Brett Hart & almost no one has anything good to say about him!! If your that disliked by everyone, your probably very hard to work with & maybe he dropped the ball himself!!
@@JustinCaudill14 you could say all of that about hbk too. So wrestlers were used to guys being a bit of a pain to work with, I know shane wasnt as goood in the ring, but the franchise character in the wwf would have been so much better than dean douglas. When he was signed the fans, who were hoping to see the franchise, were so dissapointed with what wwf did with him that it was doomed before he started. I think it was a bit of a ball drop by wwf. It was terrible.
@@djcol7742 you can act that way when you get in favor of your boss. Shawn couldn't have been the way he was in 96-98, in 1991. Shane was never on the level of shawn anyhow. His in ring and mic work weren't half as good, the only thing he had going for him was paul heyman and ecw. Little fish little pond.
According to Shane the foot under the rope was meant to be so he could get a rematch but nobody mentioned it and acted like it didn't exist, presumably because of the Kliq.
They mentioned it as the match happened but the match sucked so I presumed it was just dropped because Vince decided they weren't doing a long term program with Douglas and Razor.
Been listening to Shane’s podcast recently and the starve him out line, according to Shane, was what he was present to hear them say about another guy. I’m sure the Kliq played a role in things but the dude in this run for his first appearance on TV to leaving was genuinely four months long. His combined two runs in the WWF was 1.5 years. The quickest ascensions one can think of mostly would be Rock and Stone Cold who rise to the world title status in two years, needing major character revamps that they pushed for and hit it out of the park on, and it took that length of time for two of the biggest names the WWF ever had. Not gonna say Shane didn’t get boned a bit but he also has expressed he didn’t feel the need to prove himself there to be used at the top and didn’t feel the need to spend the time to work through the kinks. And that’s never really been how guys rise to the top in the WWF. So he may not have had the chance he felt he deserved but there’s always something to say about whether your expectation was ever a reasonable one and what role you played in limiting yourself by pushing out so quickly as he did basically everywhere. He didn’t spend two years in one of the major promotions of nineties until his second ECW stint - seemingly once he felt he wasn’t used the way he felt he should be he’d bounce. So seems fair to lay blame on both sides and just say it stinks to wonder what could have been had circumstances been different
Why did they award the title to Dean like that? Why not have him fight Razor for the vacated title? Having him lose almost immediately makes him look like a goober. There's no way you come back from that.
If Scott didn't like you, he laid on his ass. That's proof from God knows how many wrestlers. At least once Scott learned he was what he was (upper - mid, nothing more), Shane got some retribution in ECW !!!
@thecardbunker801 Shane RAN Scott's ASS out of ECW's Locker Room in front of ALL his peers, so yeah, your right, Scott really humiliated Shane. Another way Scott humiliated Shane is that Shane is still here, sober, relevant and employed, while Scott was OD'ed, bloated, and slightly DEAD. Man Alive, Scott sure did put Shane in his place !!!!
Except he didn’t “run him out”, He told him he wasn’t welcome there because he had Bam Bam and Candido in the Locker room… and Shane has since said he wouldn’t have done this if he had known that Justin Credible brought him to the show along with his Son.

That's what I've been trying to tell people for years. I'm no ring expert or journalist..but the guy is average at best, not to mention he came to the WWF hurt due to his time in ECW. He wasn't a bad worker..he was just..kinda boring, yet he overrates himself into thinking he was to be the next biggest star when he was mid card at best. It also doesn't help that he had heat with a lot of people judging from shoot interviews, not just the Kliq, but the majority of the locker room.
