Hi....I have a problem since I up-loaded The Caribbean scenery with me looking out with-in the pilot....All I see when looking ahead is the sun-glasses the edges of the face and the head moving around-sideways and up and down....I think there is a setting for this-but can't find it----Any help would be appreciated....

I have completed testing of the bleed through issue at some 3rd party airports and my conclusion is that combined with DLOD and DX 12 the bleed through occurs at "some" 3rd party airports. I conducted the same test with DLOD and DX11 at the same airports and so far no bleed through. Interesting observation is that with DX12 ONLY there is no bleed through. It appears that DX12 (Beta) is causing the problem with DLOD. I have switched back to DX11 and these tile bleed throughs in VR are very annoying. (PS all testing was in VR using a Varjo Aero at 39PPD)
I got an ‘Incompatible MSFS version - Sim Values read only’ message under PC mode active. What can I do about that?

First let me say thank you and that I am a subscriber and enjoy your channel very much. I noticed that your OLOD levels are flip-flopped from the default levels, (highest @ ground to lowest @ altitude). Is this an experiment or is this what works for you? It seems to make sense to me. Thanks again.
Hey, yeah it just makes sense. OLOD is buildings, vehicles, etc. so you don’t need them as detailed as you get further away from them.
Thanks for the update! Question: you advise not to use Auto Start with MSFS. How about putting a shortcut to the program in the windows startup folder?
I can understand not using auto start with previous versions, as they did not have self-disabling code should MSFS's memory map be changed in an update, but from version 0.3.7 onward you should be protected such a change so I'd recommend using auto start like I do.
Re shortcut in windows startup folder, TBH I haven't touched the code for the installer (well apart from version numbers and app name) from what the original developer coded because it was so good, so I don't really know how to do this. As previously mentioned, auto start being good to use now make this moot.

Good question. As long as that mod still has you running in DX12 and turning frame generation on in MSFS settings then it should work, as that is what the app is looking for to detect it. Perhaps you can try it out and tell us.
@@ResetXPDRI tried with just the LSFG and the FPS is not adjusted. I’ll try with the FrameGen mod as well
@@utkrishtmendiratta4341 Even if it doesn't detect LSFG as FG, it will still show FPS but they will just be half of what you are actually getting, like all previous versions, so adjust your FPS adaption trigger FPS accordingly. I will look into app compatibility with this FSFG, which I hadn't heard of up until now.
@@ResetXPDR Yes it is showing as you mentioned. the FrameGen Mod keeps crashing for me. Therefore I was wondering if DynamicLOD works with LSFG. LSFG does the same thing of Frame generation so it would be great and much appeciated, if it can be made compatible with DynamicLOD. Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the information. I just tried the "Dynamic LOD" program v 0.3.7 and I'm getting a message in t he "PC Mode active". It says "incompatible MSFS version - Sim values read only". I'm not understanding why I'm getting that. Do you have any suggestions? I'm not running the beta version and it the version with the "DUNE" addon.

A quick question for you... In the sim values, the TLOD and OLOD are in red 0. I can tell it's working but the values are not changing. I am using VR. Any idea why it is not showing the actual values?
Hi, Did you try to run the program 'as administrator'?
Normally 0 values is caused by a conflicting version of Mobiflight installed. If running 0.3.7 the app won't change MSFS settings if it is reading 0 values as it will self-restrict to read only.

I am a VR simmer and yes it works fine in VR... I am using a Varjo Aero. I have noticed one small problem that at some 3rd party airports default tiles bleed through.
@@Macbrowndog Thanks so much for this! I've seen the same in pancake mode, so that is a common thread it seems.
I am thinking about installing this software but something is holding me back. With all those tweaks I always realized afterwards that there was not really an improvement. For example the FrameGenMod caused heavy issues with ingame overlays showing artefacts. The Downscaling / Upscaling with DLSA did only work when I was not flying over a city, as soon as I was getting close to a city or an airport I saw terrible frame drops.
I mean the point is, an RTX3070TI is not a 4090 and as soon as you are GPU limited those tweaks do not show the expected imrovements.
The only thing that gave me a solid performance is a) the DLSS swapper and b) the optimization of the game settings by NVIDIA Gforce.
As I am flying helicopters mainly I am not sure if this software here will help me improving anything 🤔
If you are mostly GPU limited, then yes the app won't do much for you by changing LODs but there is an option to reduce cloud quality by 1 and leave LODs alone, which should still be of some use. It's covered in the readme file.
Also, as @IslandSimPilot points out in the video, the main purpose of this mod is smoothness, especially on final approach, not FPS. Anyway, it is easy enough to install it and see if it does anything for your setup. If not, uninstall it. My feelings won't be hurt :)

@@ResetXPDRI can confirm it works. Especially with helicopters like the H-160 that are already very performance hungry. I tested at the airport LSGG with a purchased scenery full of details. Without Dynamic LOD I had severe stutters...with Dynamic LOD it was running smooth. Well done!
Hey I cant get it to not start with msfs. I had it set up to auto start with msfs. I deleted the previous version from the app data roaming location and installed 03.7 and set it up to not auto start but it still does.
Forget it, its written to the exe.xml file, guess you have to delete the entries it made to that file if you ever had it set up to start with MSFS

Silly question, but if you have frame gen by default (4000 series gpu) rather than the mod, will the LOD mod track the fps through that or does it have to be the frame gen mod?
That's actually an excellent question! I would tend to think so but perhaps @resetxpdr could tell us?
I have a 4900 and the FG is on by default. The program status is PC Mode + FG
Yes it does. It works off detecting DX12 and FG enabled in MSFS settings. I don't use FG myself, as I use VR, but I did test FG in PC mode with my 4090.

Between IslandSimPilot's tips through the videos and your continued support for the LOD mod it's helped a ton! Will have to give it a whirl on the Reverb G2 and see what that world is like soon!

I'm confused so there is a DynamicLOD and DynamicLOD Reset Edition. What's the difference as I just use the normal one.
DynamicLOD is an old/unsupported version. Use the Reset Edition, it's a better and more current version.

I am on 0.3.6, and if I understand correctly according to github this can be installed as an update on top of the current install/uninstalls the old version with the new version? Will wait for the next version when reading people are getting incompatable version after the small update in the sim with the Dune mission.
Yep! You can just run the installer.

Thanks but, it won't open! I need to turn off Panda virus protect to download. I get the desktop icon but it won't open. I've tried turning off Windows 10 defender and even adding an exclusion but no joy. Is there a read me or something to help me?
Weird! Did you check your system tray? Did it install okay and then just not open?
I've tried three versions since your first youtube a month ago. I got the first to open but it didn't connect to msfs. Nothing since then. I've gotten a warning about Smart Screen, disabled it, no luck. Nothing in system tray. Tried to open from user app roaming etc., no luck. Had permission warnings that later didn't show. It's baffled me! I am not completely computer ignorant. I've tried every tweak since it came out in 2020 , I've modified config files, even added a couple of scantily clad ladies to my C172. I have my old 1070 and I7 working butter smooth at 30fps but I really want this Dynamic LOD. It should be in the sim already.

@@SudsproChannel Sounds like a corrupt config file, a possible hangover from a previous install? Run the installer again and select remove, which will deletes all traces of the app then install it again.

Disregard this I figured it out for myself.
For anyone else wondering, on updates you do not need to uninstall. Just run the installer and it will update your version and, unless stated otherwise, your existing settings stored in the config file will be retained.
so how do you completely get rid of this?ive unistalled everything,took it out of community folder and it still asks for runtime download and controls my TLOD in game.
You may still have an older version, which had the original name DynamicLOD and installs to a folder of that name. It isn't in your community folder. Go to your user roaming directory and delete any folder named DynamicLOD or DynamicLOD_ResetEdition and that should get rid of it for you.
fixed.had to go into FSUIPC7 folder and delete the line that connects it to the sim for autostart.@@ResetXPDR
No need to use this stuff.. just tweak untill u have good performance and your good. Game mode off . Play about with DSR factors , don’t need all this unnecessary processes in the background. Tweak the in sim settings and the fps you want .
