I just bought my daughter a rose gold PT sprint for her birthday with her name engraved on the blade. She loves it lol. Every PT I own is top notch! Never a single complaint. 🍻🙏
The SBR is my favorite Protech, and probably my all time favorite knife to EDC. It's up for any task I encounter daily except for food prep (which I rarely do with pocket knives). Oh, and you can always pinch the blade, push the button, and deploy it in a more discrete manner if the situation calls for it.

Such a spectacular knife... I love Les George designs.. then when executed by Pro-Tech- simply amazing and affordable.
It's great to see them making manual button locks like the Mordax and Malibu. Your right, they have some of the best clips in the business.
I've got that same one. Absolutely love it! That configuration was a BHQ exclusive with the acid wash blade.
Not legal in CA - CA law requires the automatic knife blade to be under 2" - like the Kershaw Launch 4
I live in Florida so we don't have a whole lot of knife restrictions like that. We can own and carry OTFs and automatics pretty much without restriction. But I gotta say I do like some of the CA legal autos. I rotate knives alot and typically carry more than 1, but 1 of my go to's is the Kershaw launch 4. Again, knife restrictions are pretty non-existent here but pulling that little thing in public for menial tasks pretty much goes unnoticed which I can't say for my others lol
I don't normally like automatics, but this is a nice knife.

I don’t own any autos but I have really been wanting to get a pro tech. I’ve had my eye on this on and the pro tech strider pt.
They're great blades for sure. I have the Strider operator with the tritium firing button. Its absolutely amazing.🍻
If they put a safety on it like my other protech I would own one.

I've had the BHQ Natty G-10/Jade iteration with S45 for about a couple weeks now, I can't get over just how cool the knife is and that signature ProTech opening snap.
Also for some reason the Black DLC/Jade G-10 SBR is still in stock at BHQ, either BHQ has a ton, or they're just not moving. Great chance to get into an SBR.
I put one of those DLC Jades on layaway yesterday, now it's out of stock again. I've always liked overbuilt, small knives so I suspect I'll love this little guy. Just got a TR-3 about a month ago, been my daily carry ever since. Pro-Tech makes fantastic autos and their prices are far more reasonable than the other big makers.
Washington is now in the process of looking into repealing the ban on automatic knives. Sent my support to my state rep. It this passes in my lifetime, the SBR is the first one I am buying.
My State dropped their auto ban on July 1, 2014. Exactly one year later they dropped all knife restrictions. I always thought it was stupid that I could legally carry whatever handgun I wanted (had my HCP since 2005) but somehow an auto knife made me dangerous. So far this Summer I've picked up a Microtech UTX-85, a Pro-Tech TR-3 (my current EDC), an OD green S30V Benchmade Infidel and now have an S45V DLC, Jade G-10 SBR sitting in layaway.
I live in a state where I can carry whatever, and I still want a runt.

I was all set to buy a Wharncliff Runt 5 and was waiting to find the right one when I decided the slightly longer SBR might be more useful to me as an EDC. I still want a Wharnciff Runt though, seems like a good Gentleman's knife.
@@Crusty_Otter I now have one. They are annoying to sharpen. Fat and short. On paper this is my favorite knife. In practice....not so much.
Cali legal is 2” or less. ProTech Sprint or Calmigo are legal.

How are Protechs OTF knives. I guess the advantage, OTFs are one handed. So how would the SBR compare with the Launch 4? Also, what is the price? Oops, spoke to soon, but still more than double the Launch 4.

I almost bought the blue stonewash SBR with knurling but I got my first Ultratech instead. I just wish the knurled Rockeye would come back :/
I keep watching for blue Pro-Techs, they're hard to come by. I dropped my vintage Benchmade 750 Pinnacle while weed eating the lawn a few weeks ago (5 acres) and thought it was gone. My wife found it the next day with a metal detector. I'm thinking blue handles would be easier to find in the grass.
How does the power compare to a Boker Kalashnikov? My boker fires hard but I’m hoping for a Protech Strider soon
In my experience (3 Kalashnikovs, countless Protechs) the Protechs always fire harder 👍

@@charlesholland6851 I have a few kalashnikovs, and a couple Protech's, one being this SBR, but mine has the acid wash blade and black textured handle. I 100% agree with metal here. My Protech's, specifically my SBR hit harder - noticeably harder too. Check one out you won't be disappointed!

I've been thinking about getting a protec but in worried about disengaging the blade accedentally while in use. I had a buck impact Auto and this was a major problem.
The recessed button really helps with that 👍
I carry a tr3 and with the recessed button, I've never worried about pocket deployment. Buy a Protech. You won't regret it.
I have a pro tech godson and its almost impossible to activate the action without actually exactly hitting the butten dead on. Your couldnt even open it with you palm of you hand when you press against it.
Can't carry in tight leather pants? Deal breaker. 😉
