@ToyAndGoy when are you gonna close the voting? I feel I need to give some songs a bit more time and a chance to prove themselves, because there are more then a few relatively new songs that has come out so I don't feel it wouldn't be fair to rate them now in compression to songs who had time to be come more favorable in my book, but I also don't want to miss this voting out.
Sweden is overhated this year, it's a nice song, nothing groundbreaking and the lyrics are basic, but I enjoy it. The twins are so wholesome, nothing to hate about this.

@@Palettblad Sweden has turned participating in Eurovision into a larger thing, a machine, and tries to push the edges of it. Being "professional" about it.
This year it is the only country that had 5 "pre-competitions" televised with 30 artists and songs, eliminating participants and songs at each. And then a final to pick the winner.
No other country in Eurovision does this. I still think some countries even still are using archaic methods to select their candidate by selecting song first and then artist via committee of "experts" and then announcing it on the news. And many countries think "We'll have one televised event with X entries and select it there."
Of course, also, some just select an "FU" candidate against EBU and Eurovision (not just Sweden in particular, see below)....
Sweden does have publicity or "joke" entries each year, and that is mostly a marketing/PR stunt, but they are usually not the final candidates.
Whereas some other countries seems to think it is either a good idea or do not understand the audience when they select some weird mock "artist" and song to participate for them. Examples: Stefan Raab - "Wadde hadde dudde da" - 2000, Dustin The Turkey - "Irelande Douze Pointe" - 2008 and more....
Note, there is at least one exception: The neighbouring country Finland that managed to win with Lordi - "Hard Rock Halleluja" - 2006.
Also, Sweden is trying to compete with more "popular" non-ethnic music, regular chart "topping" music. There are "ethnic" entries that have won but they are usually songs with some more popular, particularly western european, elements in them. E.g Sertab Erener - "Every way I can" - 2003, Ruslana - "Wild Dance" - 2004.
And even Russia, while they participated, used a close co-worker with Timbaland, Jim Beanz, to pass that specific glass ceiling to win. Dima Bilan - "Believe" - 2008
Then we have the few "political crap" winners... I will not mention them, but one country will suffer this year due to bad optics and their poor choice of entrant.
Sweden will not win this year, it is a "punishment" to win two years in a row = Ask Ireland. Best case place 6-10.
And the hate towards Sweden will be ongoing for a while until other countries understand that they probably should not view Eurovision Song Contest with "meh, we have singing at home".....
B.t.w. I am Swedish, I do like the the entry from Marcus and Martinus this year, it is good, but so was the next 4 competitors behind them. Some years past we should have sent our 2nd, 3rd or 4th pick instead, but even Swedes make mistakes, and yes, we do not like to be hated on every time we win. Maybe we should pick some local swedish "nyckelharpa"-schottis with lyrics about herding cows next year as other countries have done....
Sweden have the knowledge about the music and lyrics from the 60s and now the Twins came to Sweden from Norway for the know that Sweden will take them all The way and when It comes to lyrics and music just look at usa the pop artist Its always Swedish lyrics and music 💯😎🇸🇪

Really beautiful melody, very modern song, high-quality choreography, really skilled and distinctive singers whose singing sounds really easy and crystal clear. They have their own style that stands out from the rest. There is also genuine joy happiness and power that belongs to music.

I’n so happy guys you enjoyed it! It’s my top 3 and I wouldn’t be mad at all if it wins. I love their futuristic stage and dark dance club music. It’s not just a typical happy dance song. It will stand out from the other songs. They are very charismatic and sing well. The jury and public will love them. The votes will not be split between like with the “joky” ones or ballads they will stand out with this sound and outstanding staging. So I’n pretty sure they will do really well. The hate is just jealousy that they are the top quality again! The song is a great addition to Eurovision, well done 🇸🇪 👌👏

When a song is good, you say it, and when it's not, you don't pretend and you tell the truth. That's what sets you apart from others who don't dare to take a stand.

Thank you so much for the reaction, i really enjoyed it. Despite liking the song. I wanted to point out how lovely these twins are. If u saw how Medina huged them after winning, it was like competition doesn't matter. And other contestants were genuinely happy for them. As well, they are very talented since young age. And have very cute songs together as children. As well, thier sister Emma. Is a good singer too. 🎉❤🎉❤

I dont get all the hate this year. It is a really slick performance and imagine what it will look like on that stage. I think this could definitely win, so I have to disagree with you there.
I like it very much and I don't understand why there are so many negative opinions and poor ratings. The music in this song is phenomenal, the voices match and are pleasant to the ear, the lyrics could be anything, because in such a song it is not the most important thing.

I completely agree with Goy; this is what I wanted Olly Alexander to bring to the competition. A solid entry (as expected) from Sweden.
Don't think this would be a popular choice for you to react to, but Sweden had an amazing and extremely unique song in their selection this year called Circus X by Scarlet - a female duo. It didn't even make the final, but I think it was the perfect entry for them this year and I would love to hear what you think!

By far the most interesting song in their NF but Sweden is Sweden. Unforgettable is good though.
They lost because they claimed to be metal but it turned out that the song was a pop song for children.

Yes! As a Swede it's nice to leave 2023 behind, last year was not fun as a Swedish fandom member. This year I don't worry about that at all.

Marcus and Martinus are such sweet people and have so much experience already with performing, so I definitely expect them to bring their A game when opening! I'm still so sad that they're opening because now they have less chances of getting in the top 10 as the first performance is often forgotten, but hopefully their performance will be UNFORGETTABLE!

Wow u liked sweden . U right expect more in the end.Please visit Sweden for Melodifestivalen its huge.The biggest arenas in sweden for 5 weeks sold out. Even the rehearsals on fridays every week is soldout.The final at friends arena indoors was about 32000 in the audience.
I am Norway is proud of our Norwegian twins who sing for Sweden. They are so good and want to cheer for Sweden, which is my number 2 after Eden nr 1. I don't think the Norwegian song is any good, too much screaming for my taste. Gåte had intended not to go to Malmö because Israel is coming, as they are against Israel, but they changed their minds .I love youre reaction . I want to dance to it .

The song is a perfectly adequate pop song to tap along to.
Nothing groundbreaking or extraordinary. Being first on grand final night I suspect it will not be Unforgettable and will probably end up about 12th

I predict a top 10 placing, because most that is the result they get, cause its sweden it seems, and its a solid well produced pop song and performance(that reminds me of Benjamin Ingrosso, cause that also looked like a music video) as we come to expect from them, but I don't think it will win or get top 5. Also by the way they are Norwegian.

...it's not my favorite upbeat male dance-ish bop this year. Not even close. It's typical Swedish upbeat bop with amazing staging, despite being done by a pair or Norwegian guys.

Frankly the best entry this year for the Eurovision. My other faves are Switzerland because D&B and it's quirky, Ukraine because aside from the sympathy vote it's actually a very good song, and of course Denmark... great accomplished solo ballad. The bookies have got it all wrong again ... they do every year. Croatia and Italy are not winners.

Do you really think that they came up with opening the televote at the start of the show now, that would have been months in planning. And their running order in the final was randomly drawn.
