You just explained how the monopoly works but you didn’t mention anything about the bad service in the taylor swift fiasco which was the premise of the video
@@speedfastman it's pretty easy to see that having a monopoly on an industry makes you have zero motivation to improve. Everyone will just pay you anything, because they have no choice. At the point when you have a monopoly, it's actually more profitable to NOT improve.
That AEG logo is for Allgemeine Elektrogeräte, they mainly do household appliances like ovens and vacuums. I know they also do Power things but their best known gor their appliances.
It's the same problem with sports in the US, ticketmaster has deals with almost all venues in the US to sell around 95% of the tickets. It's a huge issue. 🤦🏾🤦🏾
This is called Vertical Consolidation, where someone will own every step of the process. Andrew Carnegie pioneered this method with Cargnegie steel, his company. Funny enough, he's also half the reason that anti monopoly laws exist today, which are absolutely working 100% without any flaws
My internet provider is one of those monopolies with bad service. They are my only high speed internet option and the slower DSL provider costs just as much. There are two companies putting in fiber in my town and as soon as they get to my neighborhood Im switching.
I thought the same… except when FIOS Didn’t come to my Side if the Street, I called & discovered that Comcast/Xfinity had literally BOUGHT the “Rights” to my neighborhood & FIOS was Not Allowed to expand their Services. Which resulted in Only ONE Apartment Complex actually having them. Meanwhile, Xfinity raised their prices Again & expected me to pay $500 a month for 1 Modem (WiFi) & 1 DVR…that was literally IT. I told them to shut everything OFF & ended up paying just $10 more a month for Unlimited Data on mine & my son’s phones. Lol
More corporations need to be developed to create competition. The problem with this is the fact that Ticketmaster owns ALOT of the big stadiums that these celebrities use to go on tour. While some artists may be able to rely on other types of promoters, venues, corporations, etc for their tour, big artist such as Taylor Swift HAVE to solely rely on corporations like Ticketmaster in order to perform in THEIR (Ticketmasters) stadiums. These stadiums allow a high number of people to see their favorite artist with added security, better sound quality, etc.
Customers - *bent over, cheeks spread* "yes please, ticket master, give me more tickets" If people had the sense and discipline to temporarily sacrifice things in order to force monopolies to dissolve then we wouldn't have this problem Ticket master can't hold a monopoly if people refuse to buy from them until the exploitation stops, aka collective bargaining
That’s how you get away with being too big for your own good (a monopoly) just buy up a bunch of other smaller businesses that don’t go under your main brand name?
and then you have the biggest monopoly in every country which has the worse service ever because you need to use them the transport department/DMV /whatever your country calls it
As someone who is not American, it's not at all clear. The monopoly is clear, the downside is not. I'm sure it's not good for ticket buyers, but what's not good has not been specified.
@@raoulwallenberg5735 The goal of high quality and low price is a very American concept. This does not make sense to many other cultures. Many cultures have religion or some other goal.
Ticketmaster said they could handle the amount of fans that were going to be on the website. They had a flawed system (the people who got early access didn’t have to enter the code they got before getting into the waiting room), which resulted in people who didn’t have early access codes clogging up the waiting rooms, in addition to others sending millions of bots into the waiting rooms. It wasn’t the fans’ faults that Ticketmaster wasn’t prepared, even though the company said over and over again that they could handle it and that their website wouldn’t crash. And they also should’ve had security measures put into place to stop bots from getting in, which they didn’t. So yes, it was Ticketmaster’s fault for not being prepared.

Very clear indeed
Doesn't really explain anything tbh

Lol I noticed that. "Haven't I see that on a drill?"
yeah that's not the right AEG logo...

That’s not the same AEG
Its a monopoly and it needs to be broken up
Video says "across the country"
It took me too long to realise it meant the US
This shows how much too US-central the world is.
pretty clear that ???

pretty clear why taylor swift’s ticket selling was chaotic, overpriced and a fiasco
I'm confused... was this supposed to be a full video??
It's 2022 and we're still talking about monopolies
Can we get the full video??
If only someone could use the same logic for the music industry's "standard" contracts 🤔
Annnd that sums up why I haven't been to a live show in over 15 years.
I would fight back and just work with cities and perform concerts in their parks.
Where is the bad service part
It's been going on for years. Monopolies are bad and they shouldn't be allowed.
Soo ... what now? How do we break up monopolies?

Please change the Logo. It's the home appliance AEG the one you are showing!
Over here AEG makes grinders, they don’t do concerts
Very good job on the looping, snappy
I feel like it’s missing a conclusion
This is why anti trust laws are so important.
Nice short 😊 u misspelled conglomerate

Good and concise video, except why did it end so abruptly?
Welcome to Canada where everything is monopolized
I can’t find the video that you showed a clip of.
You dont understand the difference between AEG and live nation
How?
Two words: Vertical integration.
People should always be worried about this & govts. need to regulate & curb this (beyond a 'limit').
So now that these artists know this they should never use this.
I don't see the reason for bad service... Please enlighten.
AEG?
What do electronic devices have to do with celebrity tours
My fridge is made by AEG?
and then you have the biggest monopoly in every country which has the worse service ever because you need to use them
the transport department/DMV /whatever your country calls it
lol vertical integration
incredibly based
Omg this is considered vertical integration right? Just learned that in apush

They're very annoying, but the RUclips algorithm rewards producers for making shorts.

Imagine having money you can waste. Couldn’t be you.
So now when fans crash Ticketmaster, it’s Ticketmaster’s fault?
yes
