You can buy these patches for your Matrix-1000/6/6R - read the description for further details (scroll down).
Synthesizer demo of the OBERHEIM MATRIX-1000 (1988) and MATRIX-6/R (1986). In the video you hear a single Matrix-6R, but the Matrix-1000 has the same sound engine and it sounds identical. My Oberheims are in original state with the original firmware from the eighties.
In this movie I play my own sounds - on some sounds I used a little amount of reverb from a Lexicon MPX-500 or a delay effect from a Korg SDD-3000 (right channel only), but no further effects. Drums and bass sequencing by Akai MPC 1000 (but no multitrack recordings, no eq, no compression).
    _______________________________________________
THE SOUND PROGRAMS IN THIS MOVIE:
As an owner of a Matrix-1000, Matrix-6/R: would you like to use these sounds for your music?
AnalogAudio1 is proud to present the professional "ANALOGAUDIO1 MATRIX PATCH BANK" featuring 76 highly useful patches for your Oberheim. This soundset contains classic/warm/misterious pads, punchy basses, string machines, synth brass, leads, but also some very interesting ambient sounds and modular-like FX (all the sounds you hear in the video and more). These patches are completely different from the numerous ROM presets found in the Matrix-1000.
The AnalogAudio1 patches have been programmed with various controller assigned to the modulation wheel and aftertouch pressure for further performance expressiveness and various real time motion and tonal effects. Included is a patch list (PDF), which helps you find the right sound quickly.
This bank will load into Oberheim Matrix-1000, Matrix-6 and Matrix-6R. (Of course this bank will not load into Oberheim Matrix-12 or Xpander).
This unique sound package will inspire you and add more character to your music - which is essential to be successful!
The ANALOGAUDIO1 MATRIX PATCH BANK costs 18 Euros (payment via PayPal) and includes:
    * 76 new patches for the Oberheim Matrix-1000/6/R in syx format
    * Patch list: All patch names numbered and listed (PDF)
    * Loading instructions: How to load a patch bank via MIDI sysex (PDF)
If you want to purchase it, send a message to:
    analogaudio1@gmx.net
IMPORTANT: NOW KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR SPAM/JUNK FOLDER! I answer within 12 hours.
After payment I will send you the bank (including a patch list and loading instructions) to your email address.
The patches are royalty free. Use them for your music as you prefer! Buying this soundset you purchase the right to use these sounds in your music, releases and gigs. Other use is not allowed - such as sharing, reselling, making sample packs, including them in commercial patch collections etc.

A great demo of Matrix 6 synth. I remember when I played around with the Matrix 6 back in 1987. Back then, it didn't really impressed me, but now when I listen to its sound, I wish I had foresight to get one and keep it.......

Each time I imagine getting one of these modules, I also find myself lusting after the Roland MKS-70. Have you ever used or owned one of those? Is comparing it with a Matrix model a question of apples and oranges?
Your programming of the drumbeats cries out Commodore 64/Elektron SID Station (in a real positive way).
I also dig (what sound like) momentary references to Real Life and The Alan Parsons Project.

    • @AnalogAudio1
      @AnalogAudio1  8 лет назад +1

the MKS-70 is the rack version of the JX8P, right? I never had a MKS70, but I can say that the Matrix sounds much warmer than the JX8p. Maybe it helps ;-) Well the drums are actually drums from a cheap small casio keyboard, which I sampled with the MPC 1000.

The 1000 can store 1000 patches, whereas the 6r only stores 100. You can edit sounds on the 6r using the buttons. The 1000 has no on-board editing capabilities; you'll need an external device for that.

    • @derekbaker3279
      @derekbaker3279 5 лет назад +1

They are very different beasts. The Expander & the Matrix are both 6-voice, but the routing options are much much more fexible, so one can be creative & produce much more sophisticated sounds. The 12 has the extensive routing options of the Expander, but twice the polyphony & includes the keyboard. IMHO, while the Matrix 6r sounds great (and even better with subtle chorus & reverb), the other two have more depth & a more expressive character. But YMMV... 🙂
There are some very good demos on YT for each of the synths I mentioned. Listen to them with the YT video settings set at 720p or 1080i to guarantee the least compressed sound, and make sure to listen with the best quality headphones you have.

Giba Film - Yes, the DW8000 does have it's own character. I've got a lot of synths, and qiote a few effects processors. (I love effects processors) Some synths need effects processors, some don't, & some sound great when you add effects processing. IMO the DW8000 is one of those synths that doesn't need much processing. Actually....I've found that adding effect processing kind of diminishes the DW8000s "character". I think the DW8000 sounds best, totally raw....or w/slight hint of delay or reverb.

Anyone agrees that this synth is not versatile? I mean all demos and most patches I hear are very similar to each other. It's a pad machine mosnter tho but I don't hear doing anything else but this. It excels at pads and thats it. Or anyone has a opposite opinion? Thx

Oberheims are especially known for their excellent brass and pad sounds, that's why you hear these eveywhere. But the Matrix-6/1000 synths are very well equipped analog synths and very versatile. They can do all sorts of analog sounds, it depends on you, what you do with them. You hear in this vid, how different they can be. You hear pads, basses, FX, leads, sequencer-sounds... you can't tell me you only hear pads.

      So, A year later....
In what contact do you mean by "Not Versatile" ?
If its only because of the content audio here, I can assure you... Its tottaly can Kick freckle in the lows, and bite though with leads
I this your only reference? Im interested in what is your base line (little pun, well orally , not in text)

Listen to the album ‘bytes’ by the black dog productions, it has lots of Oberhiem sounds from the 1000 and the matrix 6r from soft ambient pads to leads and basses. ✊🏼

Why would you spend 800+ USD and not learn to use it inside out and use it to it's full extent. If you have to buy creations by someone else when the device gives you the possibility to create you have more money than musical aptitude. Find a new hobby.

The answer is simple. Some musicians buy it for the great basic sound and for making music, not to learn how to program it :-) apart from that, it takes long to come up with really good sounds. If you already have usable sounds, you can concentrate on your music.

@@AnalogAudio1 That's like saying some people buy a guitar to "make music" not for learning how to place your fingers and strummimg correctly to get the sounds you want. It's an electonic intrument but intrument none the less.

@@reginaldjean-louis6103 A complex synth is not a guitar... building your own guitar and creating your own sounds would be the more appropiate comparison. Both need more than playing skills. Apart from that, you can use these sounds as starting points for your own creations. Some buy the Matrix for creating sounds, some for making music and others for both (like me). Let people decide theirselves how far they want to go with it and respect other opinions than yours - peace :-)

There are some who don't know how to program a particular sound that they like or exactly what the synth they own is capable of. So they can purchase patch packs like this one and using a PC editor can look at them extensively to understand how they were put together. Matrix editors on computers are great for this...you can see how the whole thing is done and understand how to do it on your own. By the way these patches sound great, nice job!
