Good video that was a surgeon fish in spanish pez medico it you look at a picture of one closely you will see just above the tail horizontally on both sides what appears to be a small line, its a spur lying in place and when caught as fish do they swing their tail back and forth well at that instant the spur rises and will cut you if you grab the fish as sergio did.. Now if you grab the fish by the gills you will be ok as your hand will be away from the tail. If snorkeling many times you will see those fish traveling in schools / on the video you can see the spur just before sergio releases the fish when he moves his thumb away from the tail. They are very common in PR, caribbean, south south fl they are not commonly caught on line because of the small mouth you will see them when snorkeling
Yes surgeonfish or pez medico are found throughout tropical waters world wide they do vary in color somewhat that one was a colorful one many times when snorkeling you will se small schools of them usually brown in color / At times some may call it cirujano but thats wrong they are just making a direct translation its medico
Hey Ana! I've been watching your videos this past week because I took a trip to PR, and what a coincidence! I actually visited Vieques yesterday but did not have a great time. My wife and I were excited upon arrival from the ferry, but once we stepped foot on the island vendors crowded us with taxis and rental vehicles that were all sold out. I wish we knew about getting a rental vehicle beforehand. We tried walking around the main entrance for a bit but felt very unsafe. Many tourists were confused, some locals were watching us, and we generally had no idea what to do. It was very scary and we were so intimidated that we got back on the boat and left in disappoinent after only being there for an hour. Many people talk about the beauty of Vieques but no one mentions the uncertainty of arrival. Hopefully one day I can go back with more experience.
Hi, You must do research before going to a place like that, I saw tons of videos before going, even before booking so that I know what we need to book . Hopefully better luck next time . Try culebra if you haven’t that’s smaller .

I live in Isla Verde but have gone to beaches in the area, Pinones, Condado and went along the the coast to Dorado. Don't see anyone fishing. Same with inland waters. Don't see any fishing
Inshore is much more dificult to fish that's why a lot of the time he doesn't catch much, ALSO they do it very early in the morning or late at night. You don't see the off shore cause they too far for you too see.
The black sand was amazing, that was pretty cool Sergio caught a little tiny fish, and was he serious was he really feeling electricity, or was he just clowning ? I appreciate your footage 👍🏼 I don't like sushi either by the way 🤢🤮😆
Very nice video. I have another tip I learned about Vieques. You can get on an earlier ferry to return to the big island despite what leave time you purchased. You have to ask the guard if you can get in the ferry. They are usually pretty cool about it and will let you get in on a earlier boat. Like everything else, ask very nicely.

I was stationed there at Camp Garcia in the Marine Corp in the early 1970's for 1 year actually 2 6mo tours. Loved every minute of my time there

@@FedericoPekin I mention how the water feels in each beach. Esperanza was warm I remember that much, the others were a good cold not freezing.
