It can be hard to describe what "good tone" means on the drums. This video is a masterclass on tone. Meinl Cymbals have never sounded better. Not to mention that snare.
I recently met this brother in the Memphis Drum Shop, and he was down to earth and kind. He told me to learn everything slowly, and that was the best advice I've received. This brother is insanely talented.
I rarely see such a blend of chops and just sitting in the pocket. This was masterful.

I just love that 20" Extra thin hammered Pure Alloy Custom. Its a perfect mix between wash and sparkle.
I know this is not in good taste on a meinl video but Paiste dark energy/traditionals do this extremely well

How do you even come up with a song like this? I write songs but my brain would never conceive of something with so many twists and turns and intricacies like this song. This is insane!

I'm not a drummer, but I have been a musician for 20 years. And when I say that these cymbals sound better than any kit i've ever heard before, I absolutely mean it. He is killing it and playing the kit to perfection too.

What kind of snare is that?
This is a Tama Star Reserve Hand Hammered brass snare 14x5.5. It looks a little deeper than 5.5'' but that could be because of the camera angle.

What's the point of using such expensive drums, which already have a dry sound because of the diecast hoops and the coated heads, if you're gonna use so much dampening? Ridiculous.
Agreed, the snare is amazing but those toms are not my cup of tea
