Five Dee-there was probably more carnage than he was willing to disclose. Also cops like to keep certain details quiet so when a suspect is found, only that person would know about it. Florida has some of the most messed up gun laws, like a grab bag designed to appease the left and the right, and so nothing works. They have a warning shot law, but in this situation, if these 3 guys had firearms, they would have needed to be locked an inaccessible in their cars unless they had permits. Permitting processes can be highly politicized - just look at DC and NY. I don't know what the sheriff of this particular county's disposition is, but you can be pretty sure the only way these guys were walking out of this ambush is either (1) they stayed home instead of fishing, accepting the fact that their state is not safe, or (2) went into the situation with provisions for taking down multiple hostile contacts... yeah, the kind of firepower that when someone sees it "brandished", they post to social media and the next day you are labelled a "nut" and the day after that you get a call from the prosecutor, maybe even your boss calls you in and fires you. heartbreaking! I share the familys feeling of helplessness and trauma. I lost my nephew to violence years back by police. I don't blame the police as I blame the circumstances more. But this is wrong on so many levels. These were brothers, uncles, grandsons and full of life youth! Makes me angry I better shut up! Prayers to the families.

There was a motive for this attack, it didn’t come out of the blue without provocation as it almost never happens(that could be as close to a perfect crime as it gets, and a Hollywood staple, not real world) turns out that a truck engine was the motive for this psycho to kill three young men mercilessly. Why don’t they search the cell phone company’s records to see who else was in the area at the time. These days with smartphones people phones are being sent alerts, updates, pings, etc.
They likely already did that, and they likely already know who was there, but you have to prove whoever was there committed the murder. Or I suppose right now all you have to show is probable cause to bring them in, but ideally you'd bring them in with something more than "your phone was there." Police know what they're doing.
Sounds like some argument between multiple people and the first dude, got beat up by several people, then his two friends showed up at the wrong time. Killers had no connection, gun was the easiest way to deal with them.

@Jin p Nah, OP is right that these guys knew the killers. For one, the place is secluded, perfect for an ambush. Second, police speculate there's more than one suspect. Who would do a random thing out in a secluded place? The chances for someone random to do it successfully would be in a crowded area. Also, no one who would do that random would pounce on three people at the same time in a remote area. More likely if it's random the guy would hit on the first and take off soon as the guy's buddies arrive. But no, all three were killed. That's far from random. This was a deliberate trap, done in a secluded place by a group these guys know.
Three years ago I got a call. My son of nineteen had been stabbed multiple times and was fighting for his life. I went direct to the hospital where I sat for three days until we knew he was out of danger. I am Blessed that he is alive. I went online and asked churches all over the world to pray for my son and I believe he alive today by the power of prayer. Sounds a bit like the people being killed on our farms here in South Africa. Hacked to death. Most recent murder was family, daughter was shot in the head (11 years old) and around her dad who was bleeding to death on the floor, police found her footprints.

Kinda reminds me, I was working at a job one time and I was talking to the owners of the house and told them I am a recovering alcoholic and they said their only daughter was killed by a drunk driver, I felt absolutely terrible for opening my mouth, it's just an example of what someone commented on about not knowing what people have gone through or the pain of loss of a loved one. Unless you've personally held your dying or dead child's body in your arms you have NO idea how you would react! I am normally a quiet reserved person yet when I held my 5 year old daughters body in my arms the day after she disappeared I went hysterical. If I'd had a gun with me I would have shot the funeral director who took her from me even though he was a daily customer of mine and my beloved friend. My spouse, on the other hand, who was very outgoing, refused to see her body, went dead like it never even happened or she never existed. By the next day, I was so spent of tears I was like a zombie. So give these folks some space, love and prayers and let law enforcement find the whole story on these murders! I pray Jesus wraps his loving arms around all three families, comforts them and blesses them.

I was in the house when she disappeared but ran down river when she didn't come in with the other kids. I would have drowned myself if a fisherman in a driftboat hadn't picked me out of the 40 degree water. Sometimes I still wish I had. At the time I jumped in, my spouse, who had been bank fishing, went back to the house for a nap. I happen to be a 5'1" 110 lb. female, my spouse was 6'2", 220 lbs. It's taken me years to forgive that man as she was only yards downstream in an eddy and he should have seen her when her Easter basket floated by him. Thank you for asking and letting me get that off my chest once again! Forgiveness seems to be an ongoing thing for me. PS, she was on the porch with the other children but apparently decided to get one more dip of water and the current filling her basket pulled her in, speculation that another, jealous, family member, not my immediate family, pushed her in, I'll never know.

Florida has some of the most messed up gun laws, like a grab bag designed to appease the left and the right, and so nothing works. They have a warning shot law, but in this situation, if these 3 guys had firearms, they would have needed to be locked an inaccessible in their cars unless they had permits. Permitting processes can be highly politicized - just look at DC and NY. I don't know what the sheriff of this particular county's disposition is, but you can be pretty sure the only way these guys were walking out of this ambush is either (1) they stayed home instead of fishing, accepting the fact that their state is not safe, or (2) went into the situation with provisions for taking down multiple hostile contacts... yeah, the kind of firepower that when someone sees it "brandished", they post to social media and the next day you are labelled a "nut" and the day after that you get a call from the prosecutor, maybe even your boss calls you in and fires you. Who would do a random thing out in a secluded place? The chances for someone random to do it successfully would be in a crowded area. Also, no one who would do that random would pounce on three people at the same time in a remote area. More likely if it's random the guy would hit on the first and take off soon as the guy's buddies arrive. But no, all three were killed. That's far from random. This was a deliberate trap, done in a secluded place by a group these guys know.
Three years ago I got a call. My son of nineteen had been stabbed multiple times and was fighting for his life. I went direct to the hospital where I sat for three days until we knew he was out of danger. I am Blessed that he is alive. I went online and asked churches all over the world to pray for my son and I believe he alive today by the power of prayer.

Sounds a bit like the people being killed on our farms here in South Africa. Hacked to death. Most recent murder was family, daughter was shot in the head (11 years old) and around her dad who was bleeding to death on the floor, police found her footprints.

Kinda reminds me, I was working at a job one time and I was talking to the owners of the house and told them I am a recovering alcoholic and they said their only daughter was killed by a drunk driver, I felt absolutely terrible for opening my mouth, it's just an example of what someone commented on about not knowing what people have gone through or the pain of loss of a loved one. If I'd had a gun with me I would have shot the funeral director who took her from me even though he was a daily customer of mine and my beloved friend. My spouse, on the other hand, who was very outgoing, refused to see her body, went dead like it never even happened or she never existed. By the next day, I was so spent of tears I was like a zombie. So give these folks some space, love and prayers and let law enforcement find the whole story on these murders! I pray Jesus wraps his loving arms around all three families, comforts them and blesses them.

I was in the house when she disappeared but ran down river when she didn't come in with the other kids. I would have drowned myself if a fisherman in a driftboat hadn't picked me out of the 40 degree water. Sometimes I still wish I had. At the time I jumped in, my spouse, who had been bank fishing, went back to the house for a nap. I happen to be a 5'1" 110 lb. female, my spouse was 6'2", 220 lbs. It's taken me years to forgive that man as she was only yards downstream in an eddy and he should have seen her when her Easter basket floated by him. Thank you for asking and letting me get that off my chest once again! Forgiveness seems to be an ongoing thing for me.
PS, she was on the porch with the other children but apparently decided to get one more dip of water and the current filling her basket pulled her in, speculation that another, jealous, family member, not my immediate family, pushed her in, I'll never know.

Son calls father tells him they've all been shot, father doesn't call 911 but heads into remote area alone and leaves cell phone at home, gets to crime scene alone, gets more info from son, doesn't use sons cell phone just used to call him or a cell from one of the other victims but heads to a convenience store to use the phone?!? Father is hiding something I believe!!

Agreed, on my way out and counting the days. In my 5 years here in central FL I have never seen such an ass backwards place. I have been to 2nd world and some 3rd world countries that have better culture and better infrastructure. It's actually a goddamn shame sometimes and look around it is just embarrassing.
