I think that a FER AMR PER LEC could be a great budget builder to get to RBR FER VER for Japan, but the problem is it would need at least 3 transfers, but probably the Wildcard. At the moment I think I will go with a RBR FER PER ALB MAG ALB ZHO HUL. It should be a good enough team to get me an average of 210 points per weekend, and should get me to RBR FER VER by China without using extra transfers or Wildcard. Overall I don't think sacrificing 30 points one weekend plus a Wildcard is worth it for another 20 the next.
Your team has 6 drivers! Haha, but it certainly looks like a strong base as long as PER can keep performing. He's got a bad race in him that will come at some point. That's what has kept me on the Max 2xdrs this far.i think I'd personally save my wildcard and try to get to this team across 2 weeks (4 free transfers)

Carlos was a good pick week 1 with Charles lockup issues and yes could be a solid pick going forward but personally if I have to pick one I will edge to Leclerc so it's more between Leclerc and Perez for me. Ferrari in as 2nd constructor will cover off not having Carlos here@@potpanmanF1

This might sound kind of crazy but what do you think about the idea of maybe even using limitless earlier on to capture some mission critical mass budget gains on per, lec, nando, sai + ferrari whilst still being able to keep verstappen & rb? Because like you said once you fall too far behind the chip utility might not save us later. The reality is team 3 was the one to start w/ but I couldn't commit to Perez for the same reasons you mentioned about lance. Checo has a catastrophic mistake in him when least expected. And we remember that quali dnf to race dnf in australia that Perez had recently enough....ugh. Edit: As for team name why not just abbreviate it to PPM F1?

Each race the drivers and constructors change price, so you can gain value if you have the right drivers at the right time. You can then bank that money when you transfer them for someone else. Hopefully leap frogging you ahead in terms of what team you can afford.
I hate to break the news but there are teams that have the money for VER FER RBR. I’m seriously afraid many of us are seriously compromised already I’m definitely going to be focusing on how I’m gonna get to that budget. Now might just be the time to go risky

For your RED+FER+PER build... you wouldn't be tempted to take out ALB for STR? I am hesitant too but lol trying to get some courage. (Especially since we are starting to see a ALB pattern here)

I have this exact build inuse you were thinking to use. Only difference is that I have gasly instead ofhulkenberg. Really really dont know if I wanna change gasly to hulkenberg as I see huge potential for budget growth on him. He cant have mechanical dnf every race right?......
I'm not sure about the Alpines. They seem safe from a 'starting at the back' pov but while they accumulate lowly points as their car also isn't good in the race, they might keep bleeding value. Maybe useful on a track with high DNF possibility as drivers ahead of them go out and they can make up positions gained...
Thanks for the video Tom, insightful as always. Like you I went with RED+AMR in Saudi, but with PER+ALO. STR ruined my budget building plans too. I've gone from 0.8m away from RED, FER, VER build to now being 1m away. Unless FER, PER look bad in FPs, I'm almost certain to move to RED, FER, PER base. Mainly as that will be best for points (if FER are confirmed as 2nd best constructor). But also, if PER keeps going up by 0.5-1m, as long as not unlucky with budget picks, I think you will get to a point where you can switch PER to VER. One of the "rules" of Fantasy is that you have to prioritise constructors over drivers for points. I gambled on AMR for Saudi for quick budget building, but I think I'm not prepared to risk it again, need to move to best possible team for points, which for me is RED, FER, PER base.

I'm still tempted by the budget builder team because it could propel me to the Max drs build with RED/FER quicker than relying only on Perez or leclerc to slowly get me to that point. It may mean I take fewer points in Australia but if it goes to plan it has a high ceiling. Also a low floor if it goes wrong though 😕. Just depends how much risk I want to take.

But if PER keeps doing what he did in Saudi, still getting a 1m price gain for next couple of races, while VER gets 0.3m rises, then it won't take that long for many ppl to get to RED, FER, VER base. Question might be, is it best to use the budget gain on VER or upgrade a budget driver instead (prob best to move VER in).

I'm already on 103m budget after a good Bahrain race from MAG, ZHO, AMR, 1m off getting VER, so I think I don't want to risk it. Seeing PER, LEC get bigger 1m price rises after Saudi as opposed to smaller rises after Bahrain, is a game changer for me if this continues. Thus, I can't see beyond RED, FER, PER/LEC/SAI base

Even if I switch to a budget build, I’d only be able to gain 3.5mil, assuming price rises are consistent.. which will still be off from the RBR/FER/VER. So my goal is to make that by China. Just not sure if I should be running a budget build until then, or if RBR/FER/PER will get me there too.

what exactly is "building budget"? do you gain money on the weekends depending how they do?
Each race the drivers and constructors change price, so you can gain value if you have the right drivers at the right time. You can then bank that money when you transfer them for someone else. Hopefully leap frogging you ahead in terms of what team you can afford.
