2024 Westown KZN Polo Champs - Made possible by ABSA and Durban Tourism

The biggest event on the 2024 KZN polo calendar was held this past weekend at the Westown Shongweni Polo Club.
The Westown KZN Polo Champs was made possible thanks to ABSA, Westown, Durban Tourism and the Westown Shongweni Polo Club action with action kicking off on Friday 7th June.
The event featured a full field of top polo players from across the province, with 12 teams and 48 players competing in a round-robin tournament for the much coveted Lolo Ross Memorial Trophy with the final day of play and prize giving on Sunday 9th June.
On Saturday 8th June Westown and Fundamentum Property Group hosted a Hospitality Function that focused on people, polo, and the future of the Outer West. An exciting way to entertain partners and stakeholders, the event was the first step towards bringing back an elevated polo experience to Shongweni and after this event we can confirm there are exciting things to come for polo in 2025 🐴.
Equestrian-related activities are one of the characteristics of Shongweni and the Outer West, and they play an important role in the growth of the tourism, hospitality and retail sectors of the Outer West too.
Building a City takes a collective effort, stepping beyond the scope of work and doing what needs to be done. The professionals, contractors and suppliers linked to Westown and the Fundamentum Property Group are always ready to do this, and not just in the building of Westown.
