- Hey guys n gals only 1 week away from my goal weight and the big 529 KG motor melt down. Today I melted a heap of old school door handle of whicgh I always thought were brass but happily they turned out to be zinc. I printed out a few Beskar bars and cast a heap of bars from them so sit back relax and enjoy todays video. 😁👍

HOW I MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it.

Only 1 week away from my biggest motor melt weighing in at 529 kg so hopefully I find a hell of a lot of copper in that big boy. Today I was quite surprised these handles were zinc and not brass but that was a welcome find as I have so much brass and not very much zinc . Fanmail at the end of the video as well so stick around if you're interested. That really takes me back, I haven't had a nice shop grown roof sausage since I was a kid spending summers with my grandparents. Sure, you can pick them up in some of the fancier stores these days, but they just don't taste the same.

I've been watching since ~400kg, always thought if it was me, I'd get close to goal and then do a massive melt putting it so far past the goal, there is no other choice but setting a new goal. Seems like that is exactly that's going to happen. Super excited!

Got 115 kilos copper off the last one these one different models who knows if they’ll pay off . I just love the journey of pulling them to bits and weighing them then waiting for the prices to rise

Jarjar was a prequels character only. And please give Jarjar a break... he wasn't my favorite either but he was comic relief as needed and not everyone speaks the common language well.
My dog just got over an eye ulcer as well, 3 weeks of ointment and wearing the cone but she's getting better too. Good to see Ingot is ok :)

I love melting zinc! One of my favorite metals to cast. I however have a programmable electric furnace where I can set the exact melting temperature and avoid the nasty white smoke and yellow oxide residue

Yes buddy I definitely have to agree. When I was small child I actually put our lawn sprinkler on the roof outside my bedroom window as we had a tin patio roof and I would turn that on at night to sleep too. Let’s just say my parents weren’t too happy when they found out six months later that I had been doing it on quite a regular basis😁👍🏻
