Joe, dead serious: Move to Bisbee, open that club with Doug, make him your podcast co-host. If you build it, they will come. Be like Thompson. Make it your Aspen. Rogan for Sheriff of Bisbee. Stanhope for judge/constable/mayor. Diaz for DOCTA COCKSUCKAS I got that Requiem reference.

From having a smoke listening to The Doug Standhope Podcast on my phone to watching Doug on the JRE on my TV... *Puts legs up and hands behind the head* Life is damn good people!
Haha, nice. He has gone full sloppy. Smoking and drinking and burning the candle on both ends will do that. But that's the entertainment biz. What's remarkable is that Dangerfield lived to 82 and Rickles is still going strong at 90. Around 2003, I dl a ton of comedians discographies and I was lucky enough to randomly find Stanhope. I dumped most of the comedians because they were crap, but fell in love with Stanhope, Burr and Rogan during that period. And upon discovering his act back then, I started going to his shows and bought his tshirts, etc. But I do miss the days when he was unknown and trying to win the crowd over. When you can hear the crowd is disgusted by his crudeness, but by the end of the show he wins them over and they are giving him a standing ovation. Last few shows I've been to, idiot dickhead fans are drunkenly shouting his name, trying to go on stage and give him shots, and woo hooing the whole fkn show.
I have always loved how anti establishment yet self deprecating Stanhope was/is. In the earlier years, he was like, this is who I am, f**k you if you don't like it. But there is a danger when fans start telling a entertainer how great they are, and they begin to believe it and all of the self deprecation turns to haughtiness. Can't say if this happening to Stanhope as I have tuned out the last five or so years.
There's apathetic 'I don't give a fuck'-- And then there's uncontrolled testosterone 'I don't give a fuck'. The 'scary fans' fall into the latter category. I'm somewhere in the middle, probably similar to Doug. I have an infinite well of anger inside me, but I also have a lid for it. The guys with no lid are bad news.
You guys ever notice how when a guest makes a joke a lot of times Joe doesn't even acknowledge it and just continues right on talking/ expanding on his story?
+pgordon89 LOL subjective opinions. Your obsession with his weirdness is just stupid. Because that joke is fucking GOLD! ..even tho I'm gettin tired of it now.

Unfortunately, Rogan isn't a good listener. Doug starts with "Oh yeah, Dave Chapelle was at my 30th surprise birthday party" and it kind of sounds like he has a story to tell (for a drunk like him to remember after 18 years, he pretty much has to) and Rogan completely derails him and makes it about a story of him touring with Diaz that has no punchline.
Joe, why aren't you calling out Amy Jewumer for joke stealing? At least when Mencia did it he added his own context to it. Amy blatantly steals other people's material and repeats it verbatim, with only a few word changes.
I lent an old friend Requiem for a Dream back in 08. I honestly didn't hear from him in almost a week. Finally I went to see him after 4 days because him totally not communicating with me wasn't a common thing that's how good of friends we were. I was over at his place every week on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays & Sundays for NFL & NHL and he gave me back the movie and said "Take this fucking thing away. I never want to see it again. Never. It fucked me up bad." He said it had something to do with the whole mother aspect of the movie. I've never seen a movie (Hollywood) that cerebral that actually caused a 39 year old guy to go.into a deep depression for 4 days. I've never seen that unless someone spends time huntimg down gore and terrorist beheading videos and shit. Requiem for a Dream was an amazing film.

Hey, it's me, Joe Rogan. Sorry for reading this comment only now, but consider the invitation out! Thank God I read all comments on any RUclips videos of my podcast.
yes, Stanhope personifies the essence of waking up on a strange couch after a night of binge drinking, trying to figure out where your at, with your clothes reeking of stale booze and cigarettes , with a strange phone number written on your hand.
Hey Joe Rogan trolls, did anyone notice Rogan say "I like music for the same reason I like hockey, because I have no talent in it" Does this rule also apply to him enjoying comedy?
I found the jre one day looking for Graham Hancock on RUclips. Jre #142 And how is Rogan not funny? If you didn't laugh at his wife joke on his Rocky mountain high special, you lack a sense of humor. It was extremely well structured
