Enjoyed the tour! My grandparents went to Lorain in 1928 to work at National Tube Company. My mother was born there in 1930 on 30th Street. In 1931 they went back to Mexico I guess because of the Depression. Since then nobody in the family has ever gone back there, but in doing family history over the years I've become obsessed with my mother's "hometown". I hope I get a chance to visit Lorain someday, and if I do I think I'll probably get goosebumps standing on 30th Street! Greetings from Texas and thanks again for the video!

The bridge is not a toll bridge - no toll is charged to cross it. It is called a bascule bridge because it opens. It is the second largest of its type in the world.

I just moved back a few years ago and still getting reacquainted with Lorain. Spent most my life in South Lorain. I'll try and look around.

Yeah...up until the mid-80's....Lorain used to be powerhouse of industry (you forgot to mention Thew Shovel too. My mother used to work at Mascon toy/Plastics formerly known as "Steel Stamping" in which they made tin lithograph toys).....not so much now. And yes, I was born and raised in Lorain. Born in 1964 and left around 1984 or so...
Lorain's biggest mistake - they have a waterfront...that for years, they did NOTHING with.
2nd Biggest mistake - they have tried to build a casino for years....they kept voting it down. Each is a big mistake.
You forgot to show the Elke sister's house ....ie. "The Witches House".....(right near Lake view park off of Osbourne I recall).
In the 70's..the beach was pretty much gone....then in the early 80's they started to bring tons of sand and fixed up the whole beach..I see it's looking EVEN better now...thank heaven.
You should do a tour of "hole-in-the wall" (an illegal beach along Lake road...big party place for years)
Interestingly, you could buy a house for a VERY low amount of money years ago...but prices now are getting higher and higher...
